With that said, you should be having a discussion with those buddies. Know it's not easy convo... been there. We all have a duty to keep these trails as safe as possible. If your going to ride like that, do it at night so you/they can at least see oncoming headlights. Unfortunately you never know who's coming around that next corner, it just might be one of my kids.

Went to Big Bay second day and south third day. I've done thousands of miles in the UP in the last 20 years. I always stay right on hills and blind corners. Stay safe and have fun.

4 wheel drives on the trails, lol. I ran up on a couple of booze cruisers in a pickup while grooming at 2:00A.M. by Eben. They had to back up about a mile to get off and out of the way. Pain in the butt, but comical watching them. Anyway have fun but, please be safe. I know sometimes it feels like you have the trails all to yourselves when you don't meet others for a while and get a little carried away, that's when things can go bad very fast. I quit grooming after the second snowmobile just missed the corner of the groomer blade.

It pisses me off, coming from Munising(snowmobile capital of the world) and seeing so many out of towners racing everywhere, riding all over all sides of the trails...even around corners. A snowmobiler almost ran into my truck 2 days ago, ripping through his stop sign. Already have 2 dead from drinking and excessive speeds.

@@aaronhendrickson9688 Just can't see any purpose riding at night, I enjoy the ride and the scenery, not just what I can see in my headlight. It is like tunnel vision , so to me there is no reason to do it. Give me a nice clear day when I can see 10 miles , and I don't have to drive 60 MPH on the trail. My main requirment for my machine is that it gets me back home safe.

The sound of crap bouncing off the front of your sled and helmet means you're too close to the rider in front of you, which all of you were most of the time. If someone lost a ski, caught debris or hit a tree the guy behind would have no time to react and pile into the rider in front. I get taking corners wide when you can clearly see the trail in front of you and through the corner, no issues there. Ride on, have fun, but adjust your distance a bit there bud.
@MattMcHugh257
@MattMcHugh257 2 жыл бұрын
Would much rather ride close and see over the person in front of me where we react at the same time and still have a few sled lengths to slow down before connecting. I personally think it’s much more dangerous to ride back in the snow spray where all you can see is a tail light and white dusty snow. Ride how you want bud, but we’re going to continue to ride each others asses, not too worried about a little tap if someone stops extremely fast.

I would recommend your kid goes behind you and you go at a slow rate riding right ski on right edge of trail if you’re that worried about getting hit. No corner in this video where a quick adjustment wouldn’t get us out of the way of oncoming traffic.
