Turns out that there is a rubber shortage at this time. Floor mats are backordered.

Not sure why they designed it that way. It was the same on older Golf, Beetle, and Jetta models.

It's a lot quicker to close when not fully closed. This way they can give you the option and let you just hold to close.

@@richardmoore609 Can't be a lot quicker. The only additional time it would take is for the extra distance, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

@@ksorsomeplace it's not that much quicker but it's really about being able to use the shade at the same time as having the sunroof open while having a bigger sunroof.

Technically they consider a turbo 4 cylinder a v6. VW hasnt had a true v6 in Passat for 5 years. They wouldnt go back just for the final year for a model

@@jbarlak They had the V6 back in in 2018 for the Passat GT. They changed trim specs and equip specs every year in some way shape or form. Wouldn't be any different to spec the V6 for the last year. They just didn't do it. The turbo 4 they have would be considered to be on the lower end as far as turbo 4 power is concerned.

@@ksorsomeplace the whole idea is if all their smaller vehicles have smaller engines the parts are going to be exchangeable. Abs there is no point of pumping all this love into a dead model. If they wanted to continue the v6 in the Passat they wouldn’t have dropped it all those years ago

@@jbarlak The engine being smaller or larger would not have any effect on parts being interchangeable. It's the design that either allows for that or not. It's no expense to VW to add the V6 back to Passat. They've had it before and brought it back before. They've spent considerable time with their Limited trim in explaining what each color combination represents, it would have been a nice touch to add the V6 as well. Who cares if it is a dead model? This is the last of the run and why not have some pride in the product and make some effort at making it special outside of paint/wheels/leather?
