I decided to look up the specs after hearing it, because I was thinking to myself "There's no way that's an inline 4", and I was correct. I get why people are mad that they called it an "R7", because it isn't a Super Sport. They call it a Super Sport on their website, but that's really just blatant dishonest marketing. It's a parallel twin with 75hp. This is a "Sport Bike" the same as a Ninja 650. For $1000 more you could get a Ninja ZX-6R that would obliterate that thing anytime any place. I personally think it sounds awful, but different strokes for different folks. I guess I just don't get why you would want it as an addition to the MT-07. It's basically the same bike, they just look different.

@roadkill serna they’re different machines but with the same engine and rear frame I believe but that’s about it, without getting too technical with electrical systems and stuff

I had a r6 as well if you drop a tooth in the front sprocket it feels so much better at low end speed and you don’t lose as much on the the top end

I love the R7 they just look so badass it might be my next bike in the future. Right now I own 06' Yamaha R6 and I love the torque especially when you're at high band range its just pure power coming out! I feel like R6 is more design for track bike compare to R7 is more of balance bike for street use imo.

get a yoshi exhaust, DNA stage 2 air filter and air intake and then flash the ECU. get a tail tidy if you want to neaten up the tail a bit

A little update. I have put a tail tidy on. With a Yoshimura Exhaust kit. Low plate Mount kit. Frame Sliders. And flush mounts so far. Great bike!

Aight bro, i gotchu. Your MT is a FUN bike on the street, but when you ride track, you will realize how suspension and chassis is REALLY important. Your MT has a TON of problems with its suspension for track riding, deadass an instable pogo stick with speed wobbles that needs professional overhaul work to be done for the track. Again its FINE for the street, but the suspension alone on the R7 will let you have WAYYYYY more fun on track. Ps: would love to see some trackday content, and you as a rider will grow so much taking an R7 to the track. 👌

Yeah the Fz suspension is pretty bad. I only notice it when I wheelie and when I go 75mph+ it’s kinda sketchy to be honest. Bounces like crazy. I’m excited to learn a lot about the track and the R7 could be an awesome bike for that

@@GromieBear there is a known problem with the forks that can be fixed by adding the proper sized spacers to the front forks. But the R7 simply has better suspension so why dump the money into fixing a new bike/something that shouldnt have happened from oem? As for the track I REALLY recommend it. I did 1 day in the rain, rode to the track like a dope, came back in the wet and was hooked for life. Just a handful of days on track and your riding will improve tenfold and youll be having so much more fun. I love camping on track, there is nothing more amazing than waking up on a race track at 6am. I hate mornings but seeing the sun rise above corner apexs in total silence. Then one by one breakfast is cooking, bikes turning over. Its a good vibe man, lots of groups even become kind of like family!

Looks like he's put in a hand lever for the rear brake. You can see the 2nd extra lever on the left handlebar, plus this little reservoir for the master cylinder. I think stunt people do this so they can brake more easily while wheelieing.

They will probably come out with a faster version of the r7. They’re having trouble selling the r6 nowadays since the 4banger is for some reason going out of style in favor for 3cyls, in-line twins (like the r7), and v/p twins. I’m hoping for an r9 but I don’t think Yamaha is gonna deliver those since the fz09 is already popular enough and it would scare the GP community as it would probably scare everyone with the potential cancellation of the r1 (which Yamaha would never do unless they retire from motoGP).

I’m sorry man but you can’t call that bike “FAST”. When in today’s standards it’s definitely not. In my opinion anything below 150mph isn’t “Fast”. Not a fan of the R7 if I must say so myself. Yamaha should have kept the R6. That bike is legendary, and we already had the MT-07 which is a cool bike. I feel like the R7 is just an MT-07 with a different body kit. Edit: Just my thoughts🤙🏼
