Have the 2023 Canyon aT4, put around 4k on it without any issues so far. Love the looks and maneuverability of the mid sized trucks compared to full size. Very happy so far. Watched several of ur videos and the new generation definitely handles off roading well.

I really enjoy your videos. I bought the same black Z71 back in June under similar circumstances. It showed up at the dealer 12 hours after I had been there. The guy that ordered it backed-out and they called me. I was hesitant because it was black but once I saw it in person I was in love. Only complaints are the scratchy nature of the door plastic and I got snagged by the OTA software update last week. Battery was pretty dead. I got it running after 3 hours of charging. Probably need to take it to the dealership to have it checked soon. Keep up the fun and sweet drone footage.

Awesome man I really like how your colorado is coming along as well as your off-road adventures I just took my trail boss to hidden falls adventure park and it did really well stock on some of the level 3 trails. Keep up the videos man.

Lift, air dam removal on the z71 really opens it up. I have a 2/1 lift and really like the look and off road ability. Love my truck

Nice review. I'll admit I've always thought, "why didn't he just get a ZR2?" but you've done a nice job with the build. Totally agree about the paint, the comfortable seats, interior (including the plastic but then again, consider price point). I have a '23 ZR2 and love it. I would love to see someone make a clean bumper that would hide a winch. Nice job sir.

He payed 40k why would he, I payed 41,100 for my Trail Boss and now their marking up two wheel drives where I bought mine 5 and 10 k so I got a good deal too, plus got every option you can get on TB

I put the high output on my trail boss. Definitely feels like a solid upgrade. Had my truck for a month and id say its noticeable. One of the major upgrades i plan to make when i do a full lift and suspension upgrade is new wheels and re gearing the truck.

I just got a 24 LT for a company vehicle and it’s sweet. It has the 430ft/lb torque tune and it’s a beast for a 4cyl.

I will be purchasing the new Colorado (latinamarican version) with the 2.8 L Duramax diesel next year, my brother had the 2013 version and it was flawless, my only concern is the new 8-speed version that it comes with, which I believe is the same as the north american version, would be interesting to watch you doing a 50k update to see how its hanging that transmission since I've read it had a lot of trouble in the previous models

Great video, I have the 2023 Lt I have i few problems with info system and door locks also the issue of sensor pedestrian, was fixed with around 17000 mil, use for work I’m plumber, i this is ok, not better or excellent just ok.

I have a 21 colorado z71 that beats the shit out of me while driving on rocky fire trails (didnt air down) I'm assuming no complaints on your suspension since you didnt mention it in any of your other videos. Great video's by the way. JR

I'm not hammering my truck nearly as much as you (which is why I trust your comments more than anyones!), but I'm a little worried about the 8 speed. I know about the torque converter drainback which makes the first 1-2 upshift harsh, but I'm also experiencing kinda gnarly 2-1 downshifts for about the first 10 mins or so until its really warmed up. When coming to a stop, it drops into first at about 7-10mph and almost feels like jamming on the brakes.

Mine only really shifts hard af on first shift of the day , I always make sure I give it gas to shift on the first of the day and it shifts hood not to hard but if I half ass it on the first of the day it definitely shifts hard af. Bit iv had some gnarly down shifts too you just gotta play with the gas pedal a bit to find the right time to let it down shift , hope that helps !

I have a '23 colorado as well and am getting the same 2-1 hard downshift only when cold. I told the dealer when I took it for it's first oil change and their response was "that's just how the 8 speeds are".. This 8 speed is supposedly revised from the previous gen and I don't think they've had any experience with it yet. They had it for a few days since I was out of town anyways and said they couldn't replicate it. Pretty frustrating.. I hope this doesn't turn into a long term issue, as far as I know my truck hasn't had any updates since it was built in July.

@@live4mac Thanks! I haven't taken mine in yet, but it's very repeatable. It's way worse now that the temps are going below freezing. I think the manual says something about 4000 miles for break in, I'm at around 3700 so it'll be going in soon. Pretty sure I'll get run-around just like you did.

literally bought a new/used 22 colorado z71 with 29k miles A WEEK AGO and it does the 1-2 gear crap "first start of the day" thought i noticed some shuddering but havent even driven a full tank of gas in it, very disheartening. other than the 1-2 gear crap it seems to shift smoothly, does anyone know if the 22 has anymore hope than the older models or should i just part ways with it... i really love the truck.. but ive seen SO many comments about the same problem but not many of people keeping it and the long term outcome of it.

Hey Downtime, great ride great channel. Do a resonator delete, just cut it out & weld in a straight pipe where it was. You'll thank me.

You don’t want to screw too much with exhaust until you get a tune considering the 2.7 is engineered to have a stock exhaust.

Hey man, have you had any issues with the paint peeling/chipping near your headlights on the bumper fascia? It looks like mine, and a bunch of other z71s, have some noticable flaking in that area that GM doesn't want to fix.

@@Downtimelost White, but it doesn't seem to matter what color. I've checked 5 different Colorados at 2 different dealers, and all of them have similar chips in the same area under the headlight near the piano black and fender. GM doesn't want to warranty mine so I've just been gathering photos from various owners (and the ones I saw on the lot) that also have the same paint issues.

how do you feel about the non-physical headlight controls? you can only turn them on and off in the infotainment panel?

It’s not really that bad u can still use the stock if you need a quick brights flash or something!

@@Mi4mi_joe hell yeah ! That good! My 35s and overland set up really bring the mpgs down for-sure! Hwy mpg is decent cuz I have some more rotational mass coasting helps lol

@@Downtimelost definitely, but you’re putting those tires and set up to use! It’s a given with any off road vehicle. But the Colorado is pretty good with mpg stock, even for my trail boss that comes with 33s and the 2” lift. I’m coming from a 1995 YJ that had a 4” lift on 33x12.50s. I’ve been extremely happy with this truck haha

Soft paint is probably due to environmental standards. My GTI was built in Mexico and has an incredibly hard paint finish.

My 2022 LT 4x4 Redline edition is black and it has terrible paint job ! It came with a bunch of trash in it and its very thin and chips super easy. I think Colorado get the cheapest paint job GM can get away with. I'm a painter so I'm painting it this summer because GM won't do anything about it.

@Downtimelost I hunt Every weekend for something, hogs, coyote deer turkey whatever I can. My truck goes where I want, it's lifted, tires and wheels and skid plates under it and shock sliders. It gets a few scratches but not bad. If it gets scratches I buff them when I get home. The clear I'm going to use is chip resistant and hopefully helps with scratches because the factory clear on the Colorado stinks... lol

I had the Lt 2023 2x4 and Superbad paint job, also is black you can see all the scratches from local car wash, now I do by hand but the damage is done.
