Go back to ~2005-2008 (as a random example) and a 5.3l V8 vortec was putting out 270-315hp/315-345ft/lbs. This little motor can put out 310/390. That's pretty interesting to think about. Totally different motors of course but for someone running something like a lawn care business one of these trucks make a lot of sense. Plenty of towing capacity for that type of work, good MPG and the truck isn't as large as a 1/2ton. One of these trucks will do 90% of the work most people realistically do with their full size/1/2 ton trucks. My buddy has three 2500HDs to tow around a tiny enclosed trailers or open flat trailers with a zero turn, push mower, leaf blower etc for his landscaping business. He complains about all of the gas he burns through along with having to park the trucks sometimes. This truck would easily handle his little trailers and it would make parking much easier. I bet the fuel savings would be very noticeable. His trucks are all 2017s with about 40-50k miles on them now and they're already starting to cost him $$$ to keep alive. Two of them have already had valve train issues with the 6.2l. I think one or two of these while maintaining a full size for winter plowing would really benefit him.

I just bought one , no whining kids, with dvd inside to watch movies . No soccer mom to pick up with a bunch of kids . No dog's to clean that tear up your upholstery . I like it , because it's a work truck . its simple and not fancy . I teach scuba diving and I go to work.

Whats next to the shifter? And is that console because that has the convenience package, ive seen other useless consoles on some 2023. Thanks for taking time to post this

I all ways end up getting the low end WT,,,so my wife could have the heated this and heated that,,, I bought a new Colorado Trail Boss this time, it’s loaded to me has 310hp 391 torque and 4x4 it has all I need! Not the top Colorado but I love it,,,if I did buy this WT 4x4 the very first thing I would do is put some big sidewall aggressive off road tires on those steel wheels, it would look awesome!

SUGGESTION: MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPTION.

Great video. I just bought the 2022 WT base model for 31,000. It doesn't have the push to start nor a remote control to open the doors and it sure doesn't have cruise control. That base model probably goes for 35 at least and after taxes close to forty.Of course it depends on the down payment.😊

SUGGESTION: BED OUTLET AND LED BED LIGHTING. PLEASE CONSIDER ADDING TO THE WORK TRUCK OPTION PACKAGE.

10-2-23 I have 1,000 miles on my Trail Boss, Im very happy with it. MPG, 14, not good. The new Tacoma will have a hybrid, I will look that over once it gets here. This one, only small complaint, at a stop light I feel a rough idle, like its stumbling to idle, then realize its trying to kill the engine... sometimes it dies, sometimes not.. but while its thinking about it, you get a rough, stumbling idle... I wish they would do away with that engine kill at stop lights.

Can you get the 2wd WT with the higher HP motor option? That could make for a fun little street/run around truck actually. I have a gut feeling they will only offer the higher output with 4wd. Hopefully I'm wrong. With a bit of tuning I'm wondering what people will be able to get out of these motors without major modification? 390ft/lbs is actually really impressive for a 4cyl. There's plenty of v6 and v8 motors out there that don't have that much torque. Especially in slightly older trucks. For example - a 2005 Silverado with the 5.3l Vortec was 270-295 hp / 315-335 ft.-lbs.! Of course those motors were incredibly easy to work on compared to these new little turbo motors but it's crazy how much power they put out while getting great MPG. Realistically with proper regular maintenance you shouldn't see any issues in the first 100K with one of these vehicles. I know that's a low bar to set for some but vehicles aren't really built to go 300k miles anymore.

just sayin.. you can upgrade the engine, and you can put in LED bulbs... lol. you only get that center console w/vents if you have the trailering package i believe.

I ordered a 2023 chevrolet colorado WT in december 2022. I wonder how long it's going to take for them to give me a production date.

Switch out them wheels for some better looking alloys and you're good to go.

I'm not sure why but nobody seems to be talking about the transmission issues that have been an ongoing problem since 2015 all the way up to 2022 as well as power steering failing oh, now I have experience to 2018 Chevy Colorado V6 Z71 can I can tell you first-hand transmission fluid has no viscosity causing hard shifting and and in some cases complete failure

It's such a shame they don't offer this with a regular cab. It would be such an ideal truck for a lot of people. Not everyone wants an SUV with a bed attached. The regular cab would actually sell well enough now to justify making it. People are starting to appreciate regular cab trucks again especially on the enthusiast side of things. One of these WTs, 2wd, reg cab would make for a neat little street truck. Chevy wouldn't be able to build enough if they offered these with an Xtreme style package like they did with the S10. Enthusiast/sporty option vehicles like that are in high demand right now. I'm sure these little turbo motors will allow some room for tuning as well.

As a 2021 Colorado owner and now follower of everything Colorado I would like to point out where Chevy went wrong with the new design and where they nailed it. Getting rid of the V6 was a horrible idea. I understand that current trends are phasing out V6's in favor of Turbo 4 bangers, but the truth is it took until 2020 for Chevy to get the V6 drivetrain right enough to be considered rock solid and dependable so they should have kept it a couple more years like Nissan most certainly will with huge profits. I don't care what you say, real truck guys will take a bullet proof V6 that can be well maintained to close to 200,000 miles over a Turbo 4 banger that will need at least 2 turbo replacements in that same time. Not to mention if you're actually putting the truck under load, that 4 cylinder will get WORSE gas mileage than the V6 and not that much better during anything else except possibly idling. The only real advantage is low RPM torque and maybe a little weight. Maybe. But, the Trail Boss package on the 2023 is an absolute winner! It's just too bad I couldn't get it with the V6 I have in my '21. It's such a great package otherwise that I may have actually paid up the extra $5 or 6k they want for all of the other upgrades. But with that turbo 4, I think I'll keep what I have and see how that all works out over the next 5 or 10 years. The V6 is why I bought the Chevy in the first place and never even shopped those shitty 4 cylinder Rangers. Yep, happy with what I have. Wish Chevy gave me a better reason to upgrade besides a fancier interior, over exaggerated macho panels and a 15% upcharge. I guess I'll just have to lift kit my V6 and add slightly bigger tires once my warranty is done and my tires need replacing. Should save me about $15k compared to trading it in.

Im thinking buy a WT and drop 15k into it instead of overpaying for the zr2.

This $29,000 truck can be yours today for $40,000 no problem. Buy a Tacoma it’ll last longer w/higher trim.
