What's insane is just a year ago I paid $14k more for a fully loaded Tremor with the 6.7. You take the $10k off for the 6.7 and that's basically the same price as a fully loaded Tremor Lariat ... I guess really not a year ago, two years ago --- since I ordered it two years ago, I took delivery a year ago, lol. Dang, inflation is a beast. I'll be taking real good care of my truck -- not sure how long it will be before salaries catch up to the REAL inflation.

My son just picked up his 2023 on Saturday. The truck is a crew cab long bed 4x4 STX FX4 with the 6.8. Payload 3798lbs and GVWR 10,600lbs.

I thought for sure it was goo to switch. 6.8 for fleet and 7.3 for extreme fleet and 7.3 and 6.7 for custom personal use

My crew cab 22 f250 xlt 7.3 loaded with tons of options. Dual alternators, dual batteries, middle console, tow and plow package, upgraded info center, 5th wheel package, remote start, 4:30 gears and more was 53k. And the old style looks much better. These new prices are a joke. Sales will plummet.

48 gallons in a gasser would be sweeeeet. If I didn't have kids I'd run an extended cab long bed, but that's for down the road lol. Do you think you'd still run a 250 though, or just pay the extra little and get the 350 just to have the capacity? I understand for the RAM w/the air suspension, but do the F2/350s really ride that much different? Leaning GM 3500HD gasser right now, can't wait for you to get your trucks to see how they compete. That Godzilla is a monster but I just love the looks of the Chevy and that new interior...

You're tripping way too hard on this. I remember in 2019 I got my STX CREW F250 with power stroke and 360 camera. Beautiful truck for being an XL. MSRP back then was 57k. Got for 47 😢. Will never see that again.

The side vents are functional, and Ford stated that they were going to new axles for '23, but that looks like a Sterling to me. You can get a base XLT w/ the 7.3 cheaper than the XL STX, but I hate chrome, so I would have to pay more for what I want, like a black grill and non-shiny wheels. Ford mucked up that plan, as some of us know how to drive a truck w/out all of the tech crap. JB, if possible, inquire about the new axles. No one of whom I have found knows anything. Thank You Sir!! This is the exact level and pkg I had on my 2020 but with the 6.7 diesel. It didn’t have the extras this has with the wheels, cameras and others, but it was comfortable. Sad thing is, my sticker on that one was exactly what this one is but with diesel. It was a great truck but I ended up going to a 350 long bed for the towing cargo capacity but it was a great truck.

Nice review. This seems to be an excellent appearance package, though I wonder about the interior. Regardless though I like that they have LED headlights and fog lights. If Chevy did that for the Custom it would put it over the top for sure when you consider it’s interior features. The engine is exactly like the 7.3 as far as design. The main difference is a shorter stroke. So there’s a good possibility that it will feel “snappier” driving. Probably won’t have as much low end torque though.

Actually, for the 2023 model year, the STX is probably the "Worst" deal, when all trims are compared. The way they packaged the STX for this generation, you can actually save money by going with the XLT in most cases depending on how you configure. They really messed up this STX package on the new HD trucks. You can build a better equipped XLT cheaper than adding just the STX package alone to the XL.

The thing I don’t like about the stx is you can’t get carpet delete you can get it on all other trim levels

A F-350 Lariat 7.3L w/Sport Appearance Pkg is just under $70k. That's the one to get for all but the heaviest towers.

Everybody likes chrome delete until they wash their truck and see all the paints chips and bug erosion on the front; I do like that truck though. Not sure I want be the test dummy for a new engine but that prices is good for this day and age.

The only problem with downsizing to a 3/4 ton is that you may overload your rear axle rating. That is if you are still planning on towing a fifth wheel camper.

As long as there are those willing to pay extreme over-pricing as if it’s as exciting as finding money on the ground the prices will keep climbing.

I am taking delivery of my truck tomorrow and I am a little upset. I bought from Larry H miller in mesa AZ. I was told that I could not get the 7.3 in the xl 2wd with stx. I had to order the xlt to get the chrome package and had to get the 4x4 to get the 7.3

The 6.8L is essentially the same as the 7.3L except for some internal part swaps - I don't remember if I've seen the list, but I suspect crankshaft, maybe pistons and rods, perhaps camshaft.

How much is that STX pkg? $5K+? I'd skip it and make it a real value. And, unless you are going to be transporting kids in the back, grandma, the inlaws, your 2 great danes or maybe a couple of guys you pick every morning at the Home Depot for a day job without W-2s (illegal but happens a lot here in Florida), I would get the Regular Cab, 4x4, XL F-250 with higher towing and payload capacity, less weight, less complexity, less crap to break down and the main option would be the XL off-road package at $995 with: 1) 33-inch LT285/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires. 2) 17-inch painted steel wheels. 3) Front air dam improving approach angle and therefore off-road performance. 4) Water fording vent tubes for transfer case and axle. 5) Rear electronic locking differential. 6) Skid plates protection for transfer case and fuel tank. Now, that is what I call value! The only other options that I would like would be: 1) 4.30 elec lock axle ration at $430 - Improves acceleration. I mean, yes it can lower MPGs but you have a 10 speed! Hello? 2) FX4 for the suspension at $495 - It brings the off-road shock absorbers and hill descent control. 3) 410 amp dual alternator $115 4) Dual batts $210 Otherwise skip the STX and move on to the 7.3 XLT, which is worth it if you are getting the 6.8 XL STX.
