I feel like I understand this bike because I'm the target audience. They aren't competing against other manufactures, they're competing against the used market. You never see this in the car market, they seem to given up the budget market and left it to used vehicles. At that price you can buy a used bike with more features, but you wont get to be the original owner, you wont get a warranty, you wont get assurance. I'm willing to give up a few features if I can buy new from a reputable company. But there isn't much room to raise the price. Once your selling it for the cost of a better used bike and then some, I could just buy the used bike and have money for repairs and come out ahead.

This is exactly what I need to go back and forth to work. My truck is killing me with gas at 60 bucks a week just for work !!!! Everything you need and nothing you dont.

I was going to buy one of these, but I found a really good condition 1993 XR250L for under $2k, so I'm thrilled, it's a sweet bike.

This bike is agile, this engine is the "OHC" with a cam chain, renowned in Brazil, and all over the world... you can buy it without fear... besides being economical, it can handle a lot of sticks... the engine is almost indestructible and very low maintenance... you can do the maintenance yourself at home and you can even do the engine at home by looking at the step-by-step assembly and disassembly of the engine on KZfaq, if it melts, which is very difficult... just change the engine oil at the right time and you will have a motorcycle for life...

Just yesterday I got the last one still in the packing from the Honda dealership here in Macon Georgia

I live in Alaska and this bike was perfect for me. The used market is way overpriced here. 10 year old bikes for over what I paid. New bikes in the same segment were easily 2k - 3k over this. The simple construction means I can actually do the maintenance myself.

I don't know how the asian version differs from this but at my place this is like 1800usd converted. This video makes me want to get one.

Where I live the dealers are marking them up, some close to $4,000!

Honda Xr150L is very reliable and durable bike here in the Philippines since 2016, its upgraded a little bit in terms of colors, design, but still the Honda name, body, and engine is still there.. Japan motorcycle the best 👍

You forgot to say it still has both the electric start and kickstart in case the battery dies, or you lose your keys on the trails.

It will do 65 mph on the dyno, but not in real life because of wind resistance. I've seen 60 under ideal conditions but it's really a 50 mph bike that can hit 55 under good conditions but it's pretty topped-out.

My XR 150L has been my daily commuter bike since 2018. Its cheap, reliable and easy to maintain

Intriguing bike all around. Strange how it can handle the weight of a adult passenger yet the rack in back is only rated for, I think, 11lbs. Any thoughts on that disparity? Roughly 10-12" farther back than the passenger seat and the weight rating isn't even a fifth as much. Curious why?

I wish someone would take about the transmission. On the Honda web site I thought they said it was automatic with a dual clutch.

The specification says that it is 149 cc motorcycle. Is it legal to drive this in California freeway as California freeway cc requirement is 150 cc. Please respond..

No fuel injection, anti-lock brakes... but for the price, I'd buy one. At least you don't have to pedal it. At least not until you try and sell it.

This would have been a great bike for the beginners as well as a perfect commuter transportation with its low economy. The only problem of this bike is the tires & the size of the rims which are quite a weird. It would have been better if they have followed the rims of the dirt bike & put an at least a more grippy tires for the off road. Beside those 2 major problems, I think the overall looks of the XR150L is quite outdated. I mean Honda could have done better than that.

"Under three grand". Damn! You cant get a solid used bike under three grand here in Europe. And of course this one is not available here either. All the cool motorcycles are discontinued in Europe too. Europe needs some small dual sport motorcycles, and it seems like nobody has noticed yet.

$2971 msrp is a joke, because alot of stealerships across the country are causing these bikes to be 4k out the door, alot of Americans will not find this so cheap for a 150cc bike with 30yr old tech, also theres nothing new about this bike, its been around for years in developing countries for under $1800, but when this very same bike hits the united states the price doubles and triples?? If it can be purchased out the door for under 4k then maybe!! But 4k and over out the door its not worth it and thats for sure. To be honest the bike is not worth 3k, but we are known for spending money we dont have because we will just print more, pathetic and sickning 🤮🤢
