Small update: The 6.4 and 5.7 HEMIs are NOT going away in initially. Only the L models get the Hurricane as.a $2K option right now. Of all companies, we know Chrysler will hold on to those Hemis as long as allowed. But if the 6.4 moves the GW with authority, I'm very curious about the 510HP 3.0T!
@dylanbuk70552 жыл бұрын
actually i think the L models only get the I6 and the regular wheelbase will keep the v8's for now and have the I6 as the 2k option for the 2022 model year. Wonder when they will drop the v8 in the SWB.
@hellkitty10142 жыл бұрын
@@dylanbuk7055 Its kind of confusing. If I'm correct, the GW-L gets the 510 standard, but I believe the Wagoneer L the 3.0T S.O. remains an option over the 5.7. The standard GW keeps the 6.4 standard and adds the Hurricane as an option. As long as Caddy offers that 6.2, I believe the V8s are here to stay. Jeep/Chrysler has tons of V8 enthusiasts/traditionalists(some who've admitted to purchasing the Wagoneer based upon the V8 standard power), so it may prove difficult to let it go. But due to emissions, I can see them going away in 2-3 years.
@dylanbuk70552 жыл бұрын
@@hellkitty1014 well all the reports I’ve seen is that the v8s won’t make it to the L models. The head of jeep was on tfl and said that the L will only have the turbo engines. That joins the navigator and the new Lexus with no v8 option. I’m sure the caddy will lose its v8 eventually
@hellkitty10142 жыл бұрын

Was seriously considering the L over the Escalade ESV but requiring premium gas these days might be a deal breaker. Large V8 with regular only sacrifices 1-2 mpg and at that point why Jeep didn’t just go with a diesel and gain 6-8 mpg is puzzling to me 🤷♂️

I am not a fan of such large vehicles, but I know there are some people that are and some that actually have a real use for them. Choice is a nice thing to have, and people can still purchase whatever they want. And I am sick of hearing the exaggeration that it won't fit into a garage; it will fit just fine like many SUVs that have come before it. GM did a study in the 1960s to see what the average size of an American garage was and how big they could go with a Cadillac without pissing off a lot of loyal Cadillac buyers who would have to extend or rebuild their garages. Turned out that the standard length of a garage was 20 to 25 feet long so GM determined that the biggest car they could build without requiring new and longer garages to be built by their customers was somewhere around the 18-19 foot long or about 225-230 inches. This stopped their plans of making Cadillacs any larger than that, not counting the Sixty Special or limousines which generally were not being parked in a typical suburban garage.

At what point will anybody need ALL the seats and ALL the cargo space and ALL the towing capacity of this monster? Maybe a 7 person family camping trip with an RV in tow and some pets in the back of the SUV? There's going to be a grand total of 7 people who will regularly use all of this behemoth's capacity and everyone else will just suffer the gas bill for it. Yikes Jeep. But then again Jeep already has all the SUV in every segment covered, with the exception of supertankers such as this. So, I guess they have a full lineup. I hope the lineup to buy this tank is just as full. Otherwise, what an absolutely beautiful SUV. I can't wait to see it parked at my local strip mall.
