WOW! You get 5k miles out of a tire on a sport bike that’s amazing. I’ve had 28 bikes, 1 GSX1000R, 2 ZX10-R, and currently have a Hayabusa, along with 3 other bikes. I have never got more than 2500 miles out of a tire on a sport bike and even then the metal was showing. With the exception of the Hayabusa, which I got close to 4K miles. When I did track days I was lucky to get 2K miles out of a set of tires. I’m picking up the ZX6R in the morning. Be my 29th motorcycle. Did I mention I’m 3/4 of a century old.

Bro the tires don’t last because they are good and soft and sticky. Good tires last less long. What you think is a negative is actually a positive. If the tires were hard and lasted a long time they would have less grip.

7:44 is a fact. first 2 years riding i was on a cruiser and never really got a whole lot of compliments they were seldom , last month i bought my 23 zx6r krt and immediately started getting way more compliments. in just over a month I've been complimented more at stoplights than I did on a cruiser for 2 years.

Because cruisers are basic and bland. No hate, it's just the way it is. Their looks are more appealing. I have a 2021 and love it and never had issues and I have almost 13k on it. And I have a 2014 CBR1000RR SP and that thing is nuts too. Lol

For the rear I have a Michelin road 5(sport touring), and a Michelin power 5 in the font. I think this is the best setup for my 2020 636. The rear lasts twice as long as the front but the power 5 is really aggressive. With this setup you can go through 2 front tires for one rear tire. Saves some money and the road 5 in the rear has better wet weather performance vs a lot of the more agressive rear tires. The front is still super fickable because the front tire is more aggressive. I highly recommend this setup for anyone who commutes on their bike. I already have 17500 miles on my 2020.

Glad I'm not the only one that felt there was something not right about the rear tire! I have the exact same bike (2023 zx 6r krt) and from the get go - the rear tire didn't feel stable. I thought it had something to do w/ suspension (I still might have to get it adjusted) but now I have confirmation that it's the tire most likely.

Hard launches or hard pulls chew up a back tire as much as burn outs. My tires lasted about 3000 miles on my Bandit 1200S because I couldn't stop 0 to 60 launchs, well under 3 seconds and I never smoked the tire.

Are you guys sure the tire isn't just wearing out because you're riding faster on the zx-6r than you did on the slower bikes? (I saw a video of a guy riding a 600cc against 1000cc bikes on the track and he said the 600cc tires last so much longer than a 1000cc since the slower the bike the less heat, the less wear)
@domshady962 ай бұрын
@@amisfitpuivk it could be a factor but I’m guessing its not that serious. My stock tires are not worn out at all, I barely used them for a few hundred miles but I know for sure they didn’t feel as good as the Michelins.

Well my very first thing was a 150cc scooter. The 300 was definitely better. I immediately started doing group rides and everyone had 600 or leader bikes. It was time to swap that out asap.
