the guy who bought the 1 local bike paid $400 more out the door than my 23 ZX6R, we rode and played around, honestly if your mostly street driving it's more fun than my ZX6R simply because you can use more of the bike without ending up in cuffs and your bike on a tow truck.

You nailed it. You can get the same experience for 60% the cost on a 650. You just won't rev to 16000. Each can spend their own money how they want, but you're paying 600cc money for a beginner bike with a 600cc sound.

Well at that point you ARE using it on the streets, and the pull is just so weak for the streets/highway. Dank wheelie full throttled it from 60 mph in 4th (around 7k rpm) and it took 3 seconds to get to 70mph and 8 seconds to get to 80mph. When he pulled full throttle in 6th gear (lower rpms) it was just terrible. I mean i guess you COULD live with it, but i was always told that that was the kind of passing power a beginner would outgrow in a few months. And as a beginner I don't want to spend 10 grand on something I'll outgrow in a few months.

I agree with you sir! This is an awesome bike. People say the same thing about the R7 "might as well get a 600 SS". If you buy a zx6 or other 600 instead of this, good for you. Not everyone needs or wants over 100 hp for the street

I have the Ninja 400, modded all out with Norton Racing parts (sorry, didnt know about you guys til recently,lol) and Im a retired sponsored by Kawasaki Team Green, retired motocross racer, a few state mini championships back in the day. My point is that I grew up riding and racing Kawi's, Ive had a old Ninja zx6r, an 1972 750 H2, a Ninja 300, 3 Ninja 250's at one time, lol, and a pile of motocross racing bikes...I love my 400. I do wish I could get more torque, more aggressive passing power, but its the only complaint I have. Ive put 19,ooo miles on my bike in the last yr and a half, Im ALWAYS riding, even in winter, and we have horrible winters. I would kill for one of these. It kills my heart to know I will never own one of these, Ive waited decades for this bike to come out. I like the light, tiny, agile bikes more than the bigger ones. Theyre just more fun, and I have a family, I dont need to be going 170mph. lol This bike is EXACTLY what Ive always wanted, I just know I will never have the $$ and it just kills me..lifetime Kawi rider, loyal to no end. This bike looks like SO MUCH FUN.

The Honda CB1 was a bike way ahead of it’s time but in the American Market never appreciated ! These 400CC bikes cannot be driven like a bigger displacement sport bike . There is no power or torque at lower revs and the gearbox is the key to keeping the engine at its most useful power range . Even today they are misunderstood by many as we have gotten spoiled with big CC bikes .

I traded in my 2021 MT07 for this bike and haven't regretted it. I missed the inline 4. I didn't want to get the ZX6R. It has way to much power for everyday riding on public roads. I didn't want to always be holding it back. I just love turning this bike loose once in awhile and not be breaking the law, too much. I got mine at MSRP. I'll ever track my bike so I was wondering if I could put the clip ons above the triple tree like the Z400 is. I figure you just have to drop the front end about a half an inch and maybe drill and trap a couple of holes on the triple tree. This would make the bike a little more comfortable with an upright sitting position. Maybe dropping the whole bike about an inch. I don't think you even have to buy and adjustable side stand. I live in Kentucky with some great riding areas.

As most realize, KZfaq is the best place to advertise. You want to make that as high quality as reasonably possible. Uploading in 4k, which costs nothing is common sense. This video being in low definition 1080p begs a few questions.

@@psyclone63 what, you mean the sound? Because the power doesn't engage at all. Dank wheelie was disappointed. After all, he full throttled it from 60mph in 4th gear and it took 3 seconds to get to 70 and 8 seconds to get to 80. And i just don't know about superior quickshifter. Personally, i don't recall any complaints about aprilia's qs. Better built? You mean more reliable? I'll let kawasaki have that but i don't look to sports bikes for practicality and reliability. I look to sports bikes for power and performance. And i believe the aprilia is more powerful, plus that torque will pull it out of corners on a track and past semis on a highway. Or maybe you mean build quality and fit and finish. I'm sure the fit and finish of the zx4 is pretty nice. Yeah, probably better than an rs660. I just think the zx4 is a bit too expensive for the torque. You can get better bikes for the price. If it was 2 grand cheaper, it would be awesome. Or at least $1,500 cheaper

Great review. I so wanted to pull the trigger this summer but held back. I might wave some cash around the 'deal'ership if they're not sold out this winter. Imagine this beast with a flashed ECU and and an Akrapovič! I'd love to crash one at the track. 4:48 See the manhole? A few years ago, I hit one of these in the rain at night.. while riding peppy on my street Kawi400R. Just as I was giving it max twist, it spun like it was on the dyno and off I went, lol. Those manholes man, they are hard to see, and they are greased lightning when they are wet. You see in the timestamp how you are just spooling up as you get to it? You're not going crazy there but even that could get you at that spool up rate too! Remember: Cars may be safer, but they lean the wrong way. STAY SAFE OUT THERE!!

I hope Kawasaki will step it up if they bring the “base” model to the U.S. and give the ZX4RR an aluminum frame with a rear subframe assembly!!! ( which the top trim level should have had from the beginning…hello Kawasaki 😢 ) Maybe they are just being lazy because they would have had to seriously step it up and make the 636 better😎Or they didn’t want to invest until they new there was a market for it?? Either way there’s nothing better than a little sibling rivalry 🎉🎉🎉👍

It solely depends on what you're looking to do. An R6 is a great all around bike, but especially on the track. If you're buying a used one, there's a lot to take into consideration as opposed to purchasing a brand new bike. If you want a bike that can handle everyday riding and rip on the track without destroying your back, the ZX-4R(R) may be a good option for you. If you want something a little more aggressive in styling and power, the R6 is a great choice.

For a 400 I would want a sub 400 pound bike, but specifically how that weight is balanced if it is over 400 is what I am looking for. My 750 is poorly balanced and feels like it’s 460 pounds lol. My buddy has a cbr600 which is within a few pounds and that bike is balanced so well it almost feels like I’m pushing my R3 around (at a stand still, not while moving). The CBR650R, in my opinion, is a very tame bike that's not anything like its slightly smaller sibling the CBR600RR. This ZX4RR would be comparable to the CBR600RR in terms of power delivery and overall feel. It's very "supersport" inspired whereas the 650R feels more like a bike trying to be a supersport. Additionally, no quickshifter, no riding modes, no laptimer, and no adjustable rear shock - just to name a few things the CBR650R doesn't have.

The best bike would be a ZX-650R for the roads since the 600’s market is on decline pretty much everywhere. They should make a competitor to the CBR650R, but make it more like a ZX sporty and aggressive look without a freakin’ ugly banana seat. 110hp with 50in/lb would be legit. Keep the same bike, same ergonomics, but fit a 650cc engine in there, so you get more torque to pass cars with ease. I love the ZX-4RR tho and hope to get my hands on one here in Montreal, Canada. Supersports license plates are 2000$ compared to under 400cc that are 430$ a year and we only get about 5 months of warm weather.

That bike you're describing sounds like a ZX-6R. The CBR650R is an inline 4 bike, similar to the ZX-6R, but not as tuned for power. The ZX-6R is 127hp at 52ft/lbs of torque. An inline-4 650CC from Kawasaki wouldn't fit in as they have the Ninja 650 / Z650 (parallel twin) and the ZX-6R (inline-4).
@Chad5ter
@Chad5ter Жыл бұрын
@@TSTindustries I know, right ? 26 in/lb of torque is weak tho and inline 4 is way to go for true sport bikes. The Ninja 650 to me is an effective bike, but the sound of parallel twin kills the sport aspect of it.
