In this video I am taking my first look, walk around and test drive of this brand new 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 V6. Unconfirmed rumors are that it may be the last model year of this sporty sedan.

Stinger/G70 both great cars, either one will put a smile in your face. Stinger pros are better space, good performance and better financial deal than the Genesis.

Stinger is at the top of my list when I go car shopping in early 2024. SO - by chance do you know when the last one off the line will be built? Hoping dealers will still have some new ones this February.

Honestly o think they are done with production. There still are some on dealer's lots but I doubt that they can place any new orders.

We got a 2022 G70 Sport prestige and love it. The dealers were being crazy with markups on the Stinger because “2022 was the last year” and “the scorpion edition is basically a one of a kind”. Our out the door price on the G70 was less than the 2 Kia dealers wanted for the Stingers.

I just got a 2023 gt2 micro blue. Yes full price but still cheaper than G70s around here if you can find a new one. I had a 2019 GTS and loved it. Had to upgrade because getting hit by someone on their phone.

@@camirocz yup that’s what I thought back then too. Dealers were just trying to get more money for them. They are doing the same thing now “2023 will definitely be the last year so that’s why we want 10K over MSRP”

Is the power sunroof the same as the moon roof? I hear people call it different

Technically there is a difference. Sunroof was an opaque piece of metal and moonroof was a tinted glass. Both can slide or tilt. Most nowadays are moonroofs but people use both terms. I call them all sunroofs lol. The name "Moonroof"was invented by Ford as part of their marketing campaign for Lincoln to make it different.

Disabled? You have to turn it on to use.

They are supposed to make it an EV after this year but can't see a smooth transition to release next year since they haven't confirmed.

I doubt it that they will manage to make it EV by next year. There are some rumors online but thats just it.

Kia just trying to create a scarcity mindset. As long as the G70 with the 3.3t stays the stinger will stay. The K5 being the hottest model for kia, killing off the stinger will be brand suicide.

They also may be looking at numbers and decide to eliminate one of the performance sedans and still capture similar market share with one and move the resources to EV in which direction they are going anyways.

@@MattTheCarguy This whole pushing to EV will be a major MAJOR flop!! first of all we barley have an infrastructure to support wide spread EV charing. 2nd most people dont live in houses. So where are most people who live in apartments going to charge the car? i highly doubt after a long day of work and traffic someone will park for 1 hr to charge an EV. Gas/EV is the best future we can hit the reduction in pollution and have time to build out infrastructure imagine if 10k cars in rush hour standstill traffic engines shut off and run pure EV boom massive pollution reduction right there.

@@305Nick i don't disagree, but EPA is pushing this agenda and manufacturers must adapt to the strict emmision standards. Noone really talks about the infrastructure but in California it is already a problem and that is one of the states with most EV. Very few people mention emmisions produced while making batteries and even fewer think about recycling of those batteries. I like EVs but prefer regular combustion engine.

@@kimvette1 its all about the money. I agree that Kia could do a lot better with the Stinger but they spend the money where there are best returns, like SUVs and EVs. I'm sure that they ran the numbers. Kia sold the most Stingers in 2018 in US and that was about 18K units comparing to 60K BMW 3-series. BMW, AUDI and MB have advantage sharing the body between several different models but the 340, S4 and C43 are also limited and according to some "forgotten" with the most sold units being the base engine option cars.

@@305Nick absolutely agree on that! I think killing the Stinger is a huge mistake! Even though market was slow for now, eventually it would’ve gotten better! It’s always a bit hustle in the beginning. Replacing it by EV, I don’t see how it’s gonna work. Also, as much as I love the car, was really hoping they’d have added at least 40 more hp to this last and limited edition
