Had a QS on my sportbike their game changers. Make riding/racing so much easier.

This thing is sweet. I had it on KTM790R. Definitely something that makes sense to have on a dirtbike.

Definitely an advantage on the starting line. Maybe a bikes length by the first corner.

Have it on my 701 enduro. First QS I’ve ever had. Was short shifting in the beginning and it made for a rough ride, but now that I keep each gear longer the QS is buttery smooth.

I cant wait to use it properly on my huskyfc350 23 , just getting used to the power a bike at min after a 09 yz250f also wanna try the traction control and launch control too

Sounds like would help alot on 4strokes in racing mx. My old 2006 yz125 i could shift without clutch or backing off the throttle in races and you could hardly even hear revs change at all. Always up near top revs worked easiest. All my 2strokes since have been almost the same. Got 300 now and can do but don't have to change gears anywhere asmuch. 2nd and mostly 3rd most of time. After that your up around 100kmh, hard to go like that all day on single trails or mx track. I will have to have a go on couple of new 4stroke mx bikes from work and have a rip. Just have never ridden alot apart from few quick go's of mates bikes. But most of us ride the 2bangas as we're not racing. Avagud1 fella's

so i have the 2023 ktm 450 sxf and tried to use it and i was cruising in 2nd and then activated it and tried powering through and wouldnt shift how do i use it?

Pretty soon the dirt bike will do everything for you to where all you do is sit down and twist a throttle. The overall experience of banging gears, twisting the throttle and being on the clutch is fun and what’s it’s all about.

Lol it’s not like a quickshifter will make you go faster suddenly😂 Yes it’s a bit easier but i usually shift wide open and tap the clutch a little bit. It’s basically the same as quickshifting

If you had a thumb lever and a finger lever such like the MTN bikes. You wouldn’t want buttons say next to your kill switch. Up and down. You would have to reach up with your thumb. I feel that would put your hand at risk of being removed from the grip on a bump or something.

guess I'd have to try it to understand because I've been "quick shifting" my bikes since 2003. No clutch, never letting off the gas just bang the shifter up a gear. I know a guy who did this on his CRF450Rs from neutral to first from a deadstop and high RPMs, then "quick shift"up through the gear box at Talladega. Think about that...I wouldn't do it, thought it would eventually rip apart the clutch/tranny. Never do it downshifting but going from 2 to 3rd to 4th and 5th...all-day, easy day. I keep all my race bikes to 80 hours, never had any trans issues either.

Pull in the clutch? i only ever use that for start and stops, never onced used it shifting while racing! and it never gave 1 problem either, My 2003 Troy Yamaha YZ125 i never used the cluth while already moving, and only let off half way to shift, and it was always so rock solid and never a problem, Im a Team Green guy but that was my favorite bike i ever owned!

same! I just posted my experiences "quick shifting", but I was never brave enough to do it from a start because you know how it makes that "BANG!" when go from stopped to 1st gear without a clutch. lol...at least when you're already in 2nd going like 15mph it's really smooth upshifting without a clutch.

Old tech finally making it to the dirt world. My KTM 1290 SAR was awesome with quick shit. What's really fun is auto blip downshifts into a corner then WOT out of the corner on a street bike. HOLD ON. LOL

I commented on the tiktok when you first announced this. And I retract my statement. It looks like a huge improvement on the early KTM street bike QS. Very impressive KTM. Is their an auto blipper down?

@@mxgryan I think this is a great feature! If it remains reliable I would love to have one... I assume it requires some additional sensors that weren't there before, will see if the system remains reliable (which I assume KTM did their homework and it will hold up over time just fine :)). This system only works for UP SHIFTING? I assume that is what is meant above by "auto blipper down". Hopefully they will expand the system to work with shifting in both directions but since the "power" is sorta going through the transmission in the opposite direction on decel I'd imagine down shifting has some unique challenges. Do any street bikes have a similar function for both up and down shifts? I'd think for down shifts you would actually need to blip the throttle to increase engine RPM's to match the transmission i the next lower gear. Still pretty cool!

Hey I've been having an issue with my bike. It's an old KTM RFS motor and I just rebuilt the entire top end but the head gasket started leaking so I replaced it again and it's still leaking. Any idea what could be causing this?

Until it starts Hessitating out of nowhere, Ya know the orange is finally growing on me a little, but back in the day the Black ones looked better, but neither as good looking as Green!.......Team Green ALWAYS!

Sensor on the shift drum hesitates the ignition to take load off the transmission and allow it to shift.

“Kawi transmissions are garbage” I would agree, but I run golden spectro in my kdx 220R and with that oil it shifts like a dream, easily comparable to a Yamaha 2 stroke, I’d say I hit false neutrals more on a yz than my Kawasaki. How you take care of things, and what you use in them will go a long way in the future…

I agree. With the right maintenance any machine will last. However Kawasaki and Suzuki have the worst "feeling" trans. Not even unreliable as they both are reliable but a KTM trans is just so smooth. Even Honda shifts are funny. Yamaha I have never ridden other than a TTR225 and that trans is hot garbage. Lol

@@nathanielostrowski2437 mine is an original 2003 kdx 220. Bought it a few years ago. The guy had it in storage, so all I did was put new graphics on it, rode it a little, then had the engine redone/checked out. The whole key to that bike and ktm’s 2 strokes are the transmissions. That old Kawasaki is a 6 speed, and that is what makes the difference really. I still don’t get why even Yamaha doesn’t move the 250x to a 6 speed, it’s already a damn good bike, but that move alone would make a big difference

@@dementedspirit1359 haha I have a 99 KDX 220 and a 16 KTM 250 SX at the moment. Both are great bikes and I will agree with you. The 6th gear is so welcome. Lol. Wish I had the 16 as an XC but the SX is what I got. The KDX has always clicked in but loves it's random false neutral reality checks from time to time. Not dissing the KDX either as it is a great bike and a lovely bike for any skill but the trans has never impressed me. Always have ran Bel Ray 2t and Kawasaki trans oil since new. The KTM has been on Amsoil since my ownership

@@jonathoncatterson8901 what exact bike? and going from what gear to gear does it happen most? I'm thinking of buying this bike just to eliminate false nuetrals cause I've had two bad crashes over last few years from false nuetrals and a few other close calls

@@mxgryan hhuummmm i may have to check em out ,i will google them and familiarise myself with them, we got a 09 530 with a 570 big bore kit with a rekluse clutch kit it's awesome how you can leave the clutch alone and still be able to take off in whatever gear or you can still fan it like a normal clutch if that's ya thing, cheers mate 👍

I think the device makes it so he can shift without letting off the throttle or use the clutch around 3:10 he looks down at his foot and it’s under the shifter

it slighty pauses the RPMs/Timing when it senses you shifting the lever, which from my experience is actually a disadvantage to guys like me (and others here) that don't let off the gas or touch the clutch when upshifting anyway. Honestly, if you upshift while going 10+mph from 2 to 3, 4, 5 without using clutch or letting off, just pop it up, you wont hurt the bike and you'll get a faster shift then this tech. I've only used on starts or when I've got arm pump in a long GP and don't want to be pulling in the clutch lever...try it.@@maxs4986

You can put a Quickshifter on any bike...I have had it for 3 years on my KTM 450

Maybe it’s just me, and I hate to be negative, but I just think quick shift is ridiculously stupid. I would much rather see 3 selectable maps (or something else) over QS.
