Edwards' TD at 11:30 really makes me happy. He's had a couple TD's but they were "here, Donovan, have some pity points" at the end of a junk drive or a pass TD in the middle of a blowout. This one was all him, right when we needed it and it was a deciding TD in the grand scheme of the game

@jeromemalenfant66224 ай бұрын
24:46 That gesture that Franklin made after the failed 2-point conversion is just disrespectful to the Penn State players. It's like he's disgusted with them and their not being about to score on the bone-headed play he sent in. (Just how was that play supposed to work, with half the players standing over near the sideline?) First, Franklin made the dumb decision to go for 2 on the first TD. Then he went for 2 on this TD. It was true that they needed a 2-point conversion at some point, but if they went for 1 then they're down by 8 instead of 9 and they still had a chance.. Failing this 2-point conversion meant the game was essentially over.

One thing I really like about this team is that they seem to be all-in on the "team" concept. The play calling did not help McCarthy's Heisman chances... but it was best against that defense, and I don't think McCarthy cares one bit. Donovan Edwards has not had the big numbers this season, but he has been ready when the opportunities are there. And everyone seems to give support to everyone else.

I'm sure some of the metrics geniuses will say it was the correct thing to do, but failing is psychologically deflating. 14-10 looks much better than 14-9, plus you don't head to the locker room with the taste of failure. Penn St fired the OC but Manny Diaz did this team no favors in parts of that game. He is too blitz happy. Michigan caught Penn State a couple times rushing up the field too fast instead of playing under control. Diaz was so worried about getting to the QB that he let Michigan gash them on the ground. Penn State is not built for that. Michigan gives them a steady diet of power runs every time they play. The same will happen to Ohio State. They are just not built to stop it for 4 quarters.

Penn State love those big, slow quarterbacks. He and the coaches really hurt Penn State.

Maybe JJ returns and gets the Heisman? There's a lot of QBs coming out...come back 😊

What was extremely irritating was the refusal to run the QB sneak on 4th and a half yard. JJ snuck for two from their own 3, but they didn't have him sneak otherwise. The other grip is that the defense was much more aggressive on the first three or so PSU drives. They were running blitzes and stopping up the middle. It's like they have that up and let Allar Kaytron run right up the middle. They also should have asked a TD after the Allar fumble, that was a big screw up in my mind, especiallyconsideringthey were able to get a First and Goal. They didn't try one single pass! Why not?! Allar, by the way, has my respect. That 19 year old kid never gave up.

Finally found out what the wrist tap thing was about. Thanks for including that at the beginning. Diaz is a clown for that. Franklin firing the OC the next day was also a bush move. What's that now? Six OC's in his tenure at Penn? Talk about stealing money, that Franklin is the worst coach for Penn St in important games. Can always count on him for stupid decisions that will cost his team. How's this coach?...Michigan told you what plays we were gonna run the whole second half, and it didn't help. We didn't have our HC because of all of the sissy, whiney coaches and the coward commish, and it didn't help. But I guess it doesn't matter when you go to bed in your cushy house and get a good night's sleep knowing that you fooled and continue to fool the fan base in Pennsylvania. Can't wait for the ohio game to hear all the melt down and excuse making their fannies will be doing.

It pisses me off that Penn state does that every friken year! They play really good until they start playing other big 10 teams and then they choke.
