#mitsubishi #mitsubishimirage #RALLIART
In this FULL REVIEW, the legendary name returns - but does the iconic motorsports brand deliver in this 2023 Mitsubishi Mirage RALLIART hatchback?
Check out my FULL, IN-DEPTH review: exterior, the engine, the mud flaps, the interior, the trunk - and of course out on the road! This car is perfect for those who are budget conscious, not in a rush, and want care-free (and $$ friendly!) maintenance...but there's certainly a few things to clarify.
What do you think of Mitsubishi bringing the RALLIART name back? Is it a FLIP? Or a FLOP?

I bought a ralliart mirage 1 week ago and I love it. It's not a luxury car , not a sports car. It's just a car that looks nice that you can drive from point a to point b. Acceleration is not the best but once you get up to speed you can cruise comfortably.

Yo, I bought the Mirage G4, the SE model cause I wanted it loaded. And I've gotta say, I know it looks like a small sheet metal car. And it is, however someone rammed mine in the rear and then into the guy next to me. The person who caused the accident (Nissan Maxima 2014) rolled over and the Tesla model S was totaled and the driver couldn't walk. I just had a broken shoulder and wound up getting the G4 back while the Nissan and Tesla are sitting in the junkyard. I feel it's a really safe, well made little car 🚗 👌

This is the best review for this vehicle. I have driven a mirage months ago as rental and the gas saver consumption is truly awesome. On freeway ramp, I noticed that I have to turn off the A/C to give the engine the power it needs but once it's on the freeway, the mirage can stay to your preferred speed with A/C on. Anyone considering buying this car should be happy for its gas saver capability. Imagine if few years from now when gas price per gallon becomes $8 or $9/gallon, pretty much everyone on the road would hope they have an UNDERPOWERED 1.2L Mirage. I'm in Los Angeles and our gas price today is $6.99 per gallon (the highest in the nation). I'm considering to buy a mirage as my second car.

I don't use the AC much, but even with the AC on, it gets on the freeway fine, I give it 2,500 RPM, and let it do what it can with that RPM. Seems to work.

In the Netherlands, the CVT model was discontinued. Only manual here as of 2023. I have a 2015 CVT with all options. It drives fine and is ultra reliable. I get 50 mpg on average. Not a single defect. Repairs up to now (8 years and 85,000 miles): a bit of kit for a leaking roofrail, a belt for the generator, and some dust covers for the front suspension, and a front brake job (rotors and pads). It still drives like new. I have to point out that the Mirage is very sensitive to wheel alignment. Check it. It is a problem with the rear axle (cannot be adjusted). But also the front gives a different feel and grip level. Your vague steering and understeer issue might be that, because I have done crazy things with the Mirage (taking hairpins at 50 mph) and it is neutral.

The Mirage doesn’t seem to hang about on dealer lots, maybe people know this car will be discontinued… an absolutely stupid move. Someone fire the marketing department. Mitsubishi makes excellent turbochargers. They really should have offered the Ralliart with a turbo. Taking America's least powerful car and slapping some performance division badges on it is so tacky. For the same price, I'd rather have the SE trim. Nicer upholstery and no tacky graphics. This Ralliart upholstery is also used on the BE (Black Edition) trim. I'm pretty sure it's the same upholstery that was used in the 2014 Mirage ES, except the red threads were hot pink. My Mirage had it and I loved it. It looked fun with the Kiwi Green exterior paint.

I inherited my 2023 outlander ralliart from my grandpa. He paid cash for it so I got a free new car. But in the worst possible way 😥 It's a nice riding and looking car. I absolutely love it. But if ur looking at the top line of outlander... don't. You paid couple extra grand for a few painted pieces of trim. Performance wise... it's super slow. My 2006 rav4 is faster. So I'd get the base model and just love it. Maybe paint some trim to make it look cool. But mistubishi is worried more about appeasing the green ppl (very tiny minority of people) and they're slacking on performance. The outlander uses the exact same engine in all models. No performance changes. Im going to spend a few thousand on a turbo for my outlander soon as I find someone who can tune it. I'm not worried about warranty I have plenty of money.

It is an insult to Mitsubishi car enthusiasts. It is not a proper tribute or representation of the Ralliart name. I think it's just here to increase sales. A fake performance variant that only has appearance upgrades and no added performance. Why are almost all companies doing this? Bmw started it with M-Sport which makes the car look more sporty but has no performance upgrades. Toyota followed suit with GR-Sport in recent times. And now bloody Mitsubishi. I believe all it does is just increase sales. It's faraway from what it's supposed to be. Dammit

The RalliArt I'm pretty sure is just a Black Edition (BE) with the RalliArt trim cosmetic add-ons. Visually, it screams "hot hatch", but it's just as slow and poor handling as every other trim, which makes it that much more embarrassing to be seen in. Had they stiffened the handling, added a small turbo (Mitsubishi makes excellent turbos), quickened the steering ratio, upgraded the breaks, and offered it with the manual trans, it would be worthy of the RalliArt aesthetics. If they did though they'd probably be asking $26k for it.

Must admit it looks great. Unfortunately where I'm from in Australia the mighty little Mirage was discontinued last year. It was sad to see it go but like every brand in OZ the small cars are disappearing. And like most countries the push is for Electric cars which is ok for the city but in a country like Australia they are dam useless in the country. And country is what most of Australia is. Thankfully Nissan is just about dead here. Only the 4WD models left. Hyundai had it's little i20 and i20 N but they have gone also. The big hate in Australia at the moment are sorry to say the import of the oversized American tanks you call trucks.
@nunya9555

Small cars are disappearing here in the US as well. The Mirage is going away soon. Our trucks have been too big for twenty years now. It almost seems like our governments are limiting fuel efficient vehicles in order to push useless dumpster fire (literally) electric vehicles. For instance, we never got small diesel subcompact cars like Europe did. And diesels that we do have have been slapped with emissions that cripple both reliability and economy. It would be crazy if it wasn't true.

While I do agree that many newer cars should come with a manual transmission, there are some people who are physically disabled and can't really control a 3 pedals and a gear stick well. Automatics are better for people who are handicap to make driving easier for them and making it accessible for other drivers who share the same vehicle like a work Truck/Van for businesses. Also it's still easy to get compliant behind a manual transmission car by simply getting up to a decent pace of speed and putting the car into the highest gear possible while being distracted with bullshit. It's not a transmission problem, it's the people who is behind the wheel IS the problem. Human stupidity will always be a #1 killer for just about anything.

You can literally get one now for $16k. The vehicle market has cooled so prices have come back down. And by one, I mean one like this, not an ES.

@@KevinCruz-pu2ue I looked everywhere in the Cleveland area. I only found one for sale, and they wanted over 20K! The markup on these Mirages is insane around here!

Mitsubishi is hanging by a thread.Sad to see the direction they have been going they really could’ve been a great competitor. Not too long now before they just stop making cars.

I’d rather buy a smart car, TURBO 3 cylinder 70hp, unless you count the BRABUS 125R hence the name it has 125hp and 126tq, the price of the 125R is $62,000 a lot for a smart car but they have only produced 125 units

So you'd rather spend 40k more for a smart car? Cause you can configure these online and shipped to dealer for 20k lol
