@chuckcts-v3460 I grew up in Brooklyn in a poor part of town and well remember when the streets were lined with VW Beetles owned by working poor. All other cars were Cadillacs owned by drug dealers and welfare cheats.

I have driven and owned lots of cars in my long life, but my Beetle was my favorite. Built light but as sturdy as a tank, and can handle like a spider.

Back in ‘86 driving through central Mexico at night, locals tell you not to stop for anything at night, hit a frickin cow wandering the road but kept going got to next town and in the morning saw the damage to the area above the front wheel was dented in but the light still worked and never became an issue. Those Beetles didn’t disappoint.

Now THAT was some racing. No corporate bs ruining it ,just man and machine,the way it should be. Hehe,see the 2 guys slicing and dicing each other out front gave that other guy a chance to catch them and get 2nd. Depends on the mood and who it is but sometimes the 2 front guys will work together to try and run away from the pack and then deal with each other at the end. Strategy can be a fun part of racing too.
