This reminds me of when I skied my light partner's Hero Multiturn Carbon. The ski absolutely has a top speed, but when you find the 'poppy' zone, the carbon pops you into the next turn - something I could see happening to both of you all the time. If you only grew up skiing these types of skis, you would think it's normal, but it's different for sure than mega-damped traditional skis - and for sure, when you get the timing right, you will think you're Marcel Hirscher (but you're not). Completely different analogy, but if you are into car suspension, it's like upping the spring rates but not upping the damping rates quite enough - so you have to be careful when the spring unloads because you will become unweighted. I haven't figured out yet if 'carbon' skis are good skis yet, but if you can get used to them, they are lots of fun - I know when I found the timing and sweet spot of the Rossi Multiturn Carbon, I had a blast thinking I was Hirscher.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Spot on and love the car suspension analogy. It's all about the timing on skis like this, especially if you're skiing them hard. If you're just cruising at moderate speeds, it's less noticeable, in my opinion. You always have some great takes, Paul. Appreciate all your comments!

I commented on your 104 video as well, but this is the exact ski I bought this year and funny enough I also have it in the Marker binding. I am that 50 year old intermediate plus skier that you described. I really enjoy this ski and yes the weight difference is phenomenal when compared to the regular 94. I found this ski to be great out here in the Canadian Rockies on the resorts.

Hi Dax! I saw your comment on the 104. Really appreciate your feedback and your experience on the 94 Unlimited. I think others will appreciate reading your comment as well and I expect there will be plenty of others who choose the 94 Unlimited for the same application.

@dax5771 how do you like these skis compared to the regular 94? I am 54 intermediate to advanced and I am on the fence whether to get the unlimited or the regular 94. I like the quick turns and a do not necessarily ski that fast these days.

@toma428, I never compared them to the regular and so cannot give you much feedback. The only thing I can note is that the weight difference between the two is very noticeable and is something that at my age has been greatly appreciated as I have two young boys and at some point or another I always end up carrying their equipment as well. As for the ski itself, I have not been happier and have really enjoyed being out on these skis every time I am out. I would put myself at the intermediate skier level and my age is very similar to yours.

Great video as always. Would love to hear what you all have to say about the unlimited 88 on the delightfully icey slopes of new england. as a lighter, smaller, person who skis mainly in VT I always wanted to try the enforcers, but was afraid the width to weight ratio would be tough to handle, now instead wondering if the unlimited will chatter too much at speed.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
We haven't yet had the pleasure of skiing the 88 on our VT ice yet. My guess from the 94 and 104 is that it would be less than ideal. The 88 will chatter at speed on ice. Is that worth it to you in order to get a lighter and more agile ski? I'd look to something a bit more like the Elan Ripstick 88 or Head Kore 87 if you're looking for more performance in a lighter alpine ski.

The Navigator cuts a cleaner and rounder turn with some good energy out of the tail. The Enforcer 88 is certainly more solid and stable, but not quite as agile. If I were skiing only groomers, I'd take the Navigator.

Love your videos! I’m an advanced, agressive 70% piste skier (5’6” 132 lb). In your opinion should I go for the 88 or the 94? I’m really stuck between them. I like my short turns and I’m worried the edge to edge on the 94 will be a hinderance. Oh and I ski in Europe so our powder is not quite as intense as US powder.

If you're not worried about flotation and value quickness and agility, the 88 will be the better option, but for its weight, that 94 is pretty darn quick. I'm leaning to the 94, but that's just because I had a great time on it.

Hello Jeff and Bob, love the content. between the enforcer 94 and the enforcer 94 unlimited, what would you recommend for a person getting back into skiing looking for an all mountain one quiver board? Some details: 40 years old (skiied when young, from 6-15, but have not skiied for the last 25 years - as i was snowboarding). 6.0, 190lbs, 80/20 onpiste/offpiste, no touring, not aggressive or super high speed skiing. Appreciate any recommendation 👍

Hey Paul! I think the Unlimited is better for you if you're just getting back into skiing. Lighter, less fatiguing, a little easier to maneuver and put them where you need to. There are other skis that would certainly work too, but nothing wrong with choosing the Enforcer 94 Unlimited!

Hey! Love your videos, great stuff. Question: For an intermediate skier who wants a ski that leaves plenty of room for learning and is equally good for on- or off-piste adventures, would I be better off with the Rossignol Black Ops Escaper Skis or the Nordica Enforcer 94 Skis? And is considering the Nordica Enforcer 100s a mistake if I'll realistically only be on powder 50% of the time? Additionally, I would very likely be attempting small jumps and other play-around stuff, so keep that in mind too. Thanks so much in advance for your response!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Eli! The 94 Unlimited makes a whole lot of sense for a skier like you. The Escaper is equally as energetic, it's just not quite as light, so that's going to factor in to your decision. I feel the 100 will be on the heavy side for what you're looking to do, and you'll likely get all the flotation you need out of the 94 Unlimited save for the deepest days. Have fun! SE

I got the -22 model 94 on discount about a month ago. Must say they f*cking fantastic, just rocksolid at speed, just plows thru the rough stuff, very easy to ski, playful and just a fun ski. Now that Nordica changed it, Im starting to think about buying another pair of the -22 mod for when my first pair wears out.
@SkiEssentials

Oh they didn't change it, sorry if that was confusing. The Unlimited skis are basically just lighter, more AT-focused versions of the existing Enforcers. Enforcer 94 is back unchanged for 2023.

Hi guys, first of all cheers for the good reviews! I am skiing the enforcer 110's (185) I got for a powder trip already a couple of years. As there is not so much powder everyday I would love a more all-round ski to add to the quiver. Would this one make sense as an extra pair seeing that I already have the 110's? Also bein 182 cm myself would the 186cm version be OK or would you advice to size down? I love agressive all mountain skiing... Thanks for the advice!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hey DJ! If you're a real aggressive skier, it may make more sense to go with the normal Enforcer 94 rather than the Unlimited. On the other hand, if you're hoping this ski to be much lighter than your 110s, maybe it would be better to stick with Unlimited. Up to you, of course, and basically should come down to how fast you're going to be skiing and how hard you're going to push the ski, specifically on groomers. If you go Unlimited, I think the 186 if best, but if you go non-Unlimited (the heavier ski with metal) you could actually consider going 179. Hope that helps!
@BrandonMeyer1641
@BrandonMeyer1641 2 жыл бұрын
For the type of skiing I like to do I find the enforcer line with metal to be overkill. I don’t like how the ski is complacent when you get back seat or ski with poor technique it can lead to you getting into sticky situations in technical terrain. The weight of the ski doesn’t do you any favors in those situations either. On piste enforcers with metal are good but it just seems like overkill and is all business and not too much fun. I like this new unlimited line. Light skis with poppy carbon are something I enjoy but they get a little sketch at higher speeds. Personally, I prefer a blend of the two materials. The limit on skis like that is high enough that you will still probably be the fastest guy on the run, fun and playful enough for side hits, light and maneuverable enough for the off piste, and encourages you to ski with good technique. I rarely see enforcer with metal skier coming even remotely close to the limit. It makes me wonder why the ski sells as well as it does. If I were I charge of the enforcer line I’d start with a clean sheet and make a ski with carbon, and a light and smart application of metal; still retaining those hard charging qualities but more approachable in off piste terrain. The enforcer free seems low tech and lazy in the year 2022 when so many other strong skis with metal are being more creative and are more approachable for a greater number of skiers. I’ll be curious to see what nordica does in the future.

I’m heading to Breck and Vail for 2 months next week and can’t decide what skis I want to get. I plan on skiing a lot of bowls, steeper terrain, and trees. I also like ripping some hard pack too! What size underfoot is able to accomplish this? I’m interested mostly in the Enforcer 94/104 and Rustler 9/10. I’m not sure which ski does these feats best (on average)!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Samuel! I'd stick in the mid-90 width range. A lot of people want to go really wide when thinking about western skiers, but realistically you're best off with a more versatile width. There will be days when there's no fresh snow and you're just ripping groomers. Just as many of those days as powder days, if not a lot more. Staying with something like the Enforcer 94 or Rustler 9 will give you more versatility, then someday down the road you could potentially add a big powder ski for those super deep days. Hope that helps!

Hey there! I loved your review on these skis but still had a few questions. I am currently a Telemark skier and wanted to upgrade my skis this year and were looking at some Enforcer 94s, I demo'd them and loved the confidence, power, and carving performance. However the ski was a lot of work to initiate fast turns and have as a playful ski. I would like a more poppy, more playful, fast initiating ski with close to the same power and strength, to stand up to tele binding forces, as the regular Enforcer 94? Would the unlimited be a good choice? Thanks!
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeremy! Yup, I think that could work great. I just ran it by our resident tele expert and he concurred. It'll be more energetic, more playful, and still will have similar characteristics when carving as it shares the same shape. Hope that helps!

@@SkiEssentials I'm a telemarker skier too, and I'm very interested in this ski. The standared Enforcer 94 is too heavy for touring, so this seems the perfect mountaineering/touring/freeride ski! I'm just wondering if it could be too fragile to pair with low tech bindings like Meidjo or Lynx, because of its lighness and absence of titanal... what do you think?

Great review. What ski will be the best for on piste carving between Völkl Blaze 94 and Enforcer Unlimited 94?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
Tricky choice. The Unlimited is stiffer from tip to tail, and especially in the tail. That said, I think aggressive skiers can overpower the Unlimited, but not really the Blaze. To get the best performance out of the Unlimited, the skier kind of has to have a deft touch while the Blaze doesn't require the same amount of sophistication.

I’m trying to decide between these and the Black Crows Camox Freebird. How would you characterize the differences? Also, could you give me recommendations in sizing? I’m intermediate level, 165 lbs, 187cm (6 ft 1) and was thinking of 178 cm or 183 for the Freebirds. 186 for the Nordicas seems like it might be long for my height and weight and relaxed (not aggressive) style, so thinking of going 179 with them too. What height was your tester?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
There's footage of both Bob and Jeff in this review. Bob's 6'2 225, Jeff's 5'10 160. Between the Enforcer Unlimited and Camox Freebird, I find the Enforcer feels stronger on firmer snow conditions. I think a lot of that is the shape, and probably the amount of carbon they use too. Camox Feebird feels a little looser to me, so slightly easier to maneuver in tight, techy terrain, but not as much bite or responsiveness. I think if you're a more relaxed skier, 179 in the Enforcer is just fine. In the Camox, however, I might jump up to 183. I agree that you probably don't need to go 186 in the Enforcer, but 183 feels pretty manageable for your size considering the performance of the ski.

They're pretty darn similar overall. I find the Enforcer feels a little stronger, especially noticeable in the tail, while the Camox feels a little looser. The Enforcer 94 is pretty darn stiff and snappy, but nowhere near as damp or stable as Santa Ana. In the trees and other tight spots, the Enforcer 94 is very quick and fast, but if you like the SA 100, I think the 93 will be more your style. Hi Skiessentials! I am thinking of buying a new pair of skis. Currently, I have skied a 177 cm Enforcer 93 17/18 for 4 seasons and I am looking to upgrade my skis to something a little more freeride-oriented and something a bit lighter so that I can mount a hybrid binding. The other option is that I buy 2 pairs of skis with 1 being a freeride ski and the other being a touring ski but preferably I'd stick to 1 ski. I am 180 cm, 70 kg, and 16 years old and ski with a directional aggressive style, I ski around 50/50 piste/off-piste with the off-piste being 30/70 touring/lift accessed. Right now I have considered buying a pair of ripstick 106 with a shift binding after watching your ski review of it. Any thoughts? Adam

Is the extra weight of the 104 really that noticable on the climb? basically are the extra 10 mm on the 104 worth the extra weight or do the 94s do similarly well in powder? Yeeeeaaaaahhhhh, this is a tough one to answer because the 104 really, really skis a lot better than the 94 in soft snow. BUT! You are mainly touring medium-length tours. Weight counts! The 94 is great on-trail, but the 104 with the shape and style is a phenomenal powder ski and tree ski. If you can somehow suck it up and drag the extra grams uphill, the 104 is awesome, but if you're truly 80% touring, it's hard to argue against the 94. Not sure if this helps. I would say that given what you've told me, the 94 lines up better with what you are looking to do.

Hi skiessentials very informative review! I once rented a nordica enforcer 93 a couple years back and loved it on and off piste! So im currently leaning towards buying the regular 94, however. The reduction in swing weight that the unlimited offers does sound really appealing... because the weight on those 93s was very noticeable! I was wondering for icy conditions specifically (something i dont run into often, but its still a factor) how do the 94 unlimiteds hold up? Does the carbon fibre still perform well there compared to the metal of the regular 94s? Thanks a bunch!

You will have to temper your expectations when it comes to firm snow performance, especially at speed. In shorter turns, it's not as noticeable, but if you're looking to lay the ski over like you do the 93/94 you will be disappointed. No concrete numbers, but from our view of sales for skis like this, they're not quite performing as expected. This leads us to believe that touring, more specifically hybrid touring, isn't as popular as the companies thought it would be. Nordica enforcer 94 unl vs Black Crows Camox freebird how they compare in softsnow? the camox freebird is better? How they compare in float, stability at speed and dampness ? any real diference? And another related question, for one ski quiver, for off piste, do you really think 95 waist is better than 105?
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 6 ай бұрын
I'd say the Camox is better in softer snow. The Enforcer is surprisingly stiff, and while that's great for grip, it doesn't feel as sophisticated in powder. That said, I do trust the Nordica more when it comes to on-piste performance and feels more damp. For one ski, off piste, I personally prefer mid-90's.

Is it just me or does it seam like the tail on the unlimited washes out. It looks like you have to drive it harder than the 94 to get the tail to carve. I currently ski the line prophet 90 in a 186 which I think is nearly as heavy as the 94 and I can handle it fine and like the ski. I am interested in getting the regular 94. Is it going to be more demanding than the prophet or will it be a nice transition/upgrade. Would I even consider the unlimited coming from the prophet.
@SkiEssentials
@SkiEssentials 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's as much washing out as it is that the Unlimited just kind of has a smaller sweet spot than the normal 94, notably when it comes to carving. You have to be more balanced on the Unlimited, otherwise the energetic flex pattern can kinda shoot you off in a direction you might not want to go in. I think the normal 94 is a great upgrade from the prophet. A little more demanding, sure, but still a nice transition and worthy upgrade for sure.

Kind of, but they're still lighter and more snappy than the Rustler, while retaining the Enforcer shape, and I think that's the biggest thing going for the Unlimited skis.

I think 70% of skier have a really powerfull ski and cant acces it anyway.I was guilty of that pattern for many years and i much enjoy a lighter ski .

Definitely. A lot of skiers end up in that situation.

Someone tell Bob if he really wants to enjoy the ride get out of the back seat.... I really find it hard to trust a review from someone who doesn't ski a full ski.... Sorry Bob, you're close....

I think that's the first negative comment about Bob's skiing I've ever read! I'll pass along the message.

These guys are greater skiers and to say he sits in the “back seat” and you don’t trust his reviews is so ignorant. They put hard work in the videos they make so you can watch them for free and make an educated guess on what u want to buy next but yet you took the time to make a negative comment and try to put someone down. Sad.

@@SkiMaskSavage_ so I have tried to reply twice that it wasn't meant to be negative, it was meant to be constructive, it may have read a bit dickish but that was not the intent. Just for a bit of context, for almost every turn that he slides snow is only coming off the rear of the ski, and that is only one indication. I was an instructor for decades, I can assure you my comment was not ignorant.... Perhaps a bit rude, but certainly not ignorant.
