2023 Samsung Q990C Soundbar | Unboxing and 1st Impressions

I just received the new Q990C soundbar setup from Samsung. This is an unboxing and my intial impressions.
I was able to purchase this when it first came available, as Samsung had it on their website at $1329. At the time of this video it is currently at $1899.

Strange how you always get an HDMI cable included with Samsung soundbars over in the US, but not in the UK. But then in the UK Samsung TVs often come with either 2 remotes, or more premium quality remotes, while the US gets 1 remote. Lol

Did you receive an optical cable because I didn't but some people did. Also, did you mount the rear speaker what did you use?

just did a video regarding the rear speaker mounts i used for the q990c rears. dont recall having an optical cable in my box

Looks 100% identical to the 990B, even the unboxing. My guess is that they changed something very minor in software.

they updated the blutooth stack so connectivity is stronger also it is slightly clearer and a few centimetres wider... otherwise it is a 1:1 copy of the previous model.

@@Blackfeet yeah, I have zero connectivity issues tbh I think they hit a limit on sound quality with the hardware. The only thing I can imagine being a big enhancement is adding a second subwoofer. Otherwise, for a major upgrade gotta pay for the Nakamichi Dragon.

Будет ли телевизор QE65Q80B по беспроводному подключению передавать сигнал Dolby Atmos на саундбар Samsung HW-Q990B? В описании к саундбару есть такая функция, а вот по телевизорам лишь сказано что возможно с моделями 2022г. Но я так понимаю не со всеми моделями это возможно. Ответьте кто знает пожалуйста

i havent had one disconnect in almost a year for the q990c. so far the connection has been stellar

Last yr purchased q990b rear speakers not working properly as you said ...still u invested same?normal people dont have such money to spend every yr

I was able to return the q990b that I purchased, due to an extended return period. The q990b sound stage was fantastic with my tv (with Q-Symphony), but if you watch my video on it, I explain the pros and cons of buying a q990b. Check out that vid, as I give insight around your concern.

I don't believe your tv supports q symphony, but at this point I would lean towards the q990c overall.

Does it have hdmi 2.1 4K120hz inputs or just the hdmi 2.0 4k60hz?

They are wireless. They only have a power cable.

Hi , Is the Bass on Q990C punchy or Deep ?

To me it sounds like it is on the deeper side of things. if you want punchier bass, SONOS' smaller sub mini is very good (at least to me)

Is the included hdmi cable a E-ARC cable or normal one?

Is the HDMI cable 2.1? If not, will it affect eARC 120 hz?

All my cables are HDMI 2.1 capable. HDMI eARC is only fully supported by HDMI 2.1 cables, so if your cable is an HDMI 2.1 cable, then it should support eARC without a problem. Hope this helps

@@TillTheLightTakesUs yes, the standard cable that comes included in the box works, but it doesn’t say anywhere that it’s a 2.1 cable, and i really want to use the soundbar to its full potential of course.

Q990c if you can. But if in a bedroom or smaller room, the q930c will suffice👌

You're not wrong!!! Bought the 65" Sony A80J and the Samsung Q990b after literally 1000s of hours of online research and they definitely have serious compatibility issues. The issue is also that each company blames the other so a solution is mission impossible. Help desks are completely useless.

Sony TVs dont play well with many soundbars. There, I fixed it.
