It's new bike day, this will be my first ride and review on the 2023 Santa Cruz Bronson I will take you around the best mountain bike trails in Florida at Alafia river state park and give you my thoughts and opinions on how the new bike rides and how it compares to my Santa Cruz Hightower.

Digging the new bike. As a fellow Florida rider I'm also curious about the mullet setup. My full 29er just feels like a cruising Cadillac sometimes. Smooth, but need something more responsive and playful for the trails around here. Also, you're brave man doing that Doom Drop on Moonscape so late in the day. I took a nasty spill off that ledge last December. It has no mercy lol! Cheers.

That’s exactly why I went Bronson. I almost went 5010. But I wanted to have fun in florida but also bigger trails in North Carolina. 5010 is not enough bike for Pisgah! So happy with my choice so far. I do need to put A little more time in on it though!🤘🏻

Nice one Ken 👌Love the new bike dude! I run the death grips on all my bikes. They are the signature grip for x down hill Uk riderer Brendan Fairclough (Brendog). The Mullet will make the back "slap' as you call it over rocky terrain. I'm inbetween small & medium with Norco. My 21 sight is a medium but when I recently got my 23 Range I went a small frame and am very happy with both. Sight is 27.5 & Range is 29er

I really love the grips! The inside part is is thicker. I played around with the suspension rebound and pressure, and the tire pressure got it dialed in! Definitely a difference riding experience than full 27.5 or full 29!😃

Great video. Like the way you supported that guy on the drop attempts. After lots of bikes me and my V4 are a match. Love the mullet and went coil shock and cushcore to handle some of the longer descents here in the Pacific Northwest. It is now a ground hugging, cornering and berm slaying beast. Nice work and enjoy the bike!

This is super helpful! I've been getting pretty comfortable on all the single blacks at Alafia and I'm about ready to step it up. Going over the gnarly features in detail is money!

I bought a V4 Bronson (2022) when they closed them out (same frame as your V4.1, no glovebox). I ride the same FL trails. I like it. I came off a Yeti SB130LR 29er. The Mx wheel Bronson is better IMHO. The shorter chain stay allows for quicker acceleration for FL tight tech. I'm 6' 0" and like the fit of the large frame and wouldn't want the XL. I also noticed the smaller rear wheel at first. Think that's just getting used the bike and tweaking your suspension. You could always put on a burlier tire back there too. But let her slide for a bit to be sure you don't want to keep as-is. You will enjoy that wheel in the corners and in the air. I’m curious to know to all you Bronson owners how do you think it pedals as far as efficiency as opposed to the 29ers I ride Alafaya & Balm as well

Hey, thanks for watching! I’ve only ridden the Bronson twice! But as far as efficiency goes….it’s many different factors. Type of suspension, suspension set up, tire type, rim materials, geometry….in florida im not so concerned with efficiency. We have flat trails. If I was tackling long climbs on a regular basis I would be looking more at pedal efficiency. Which would mean stiffer suspension more upright seating position and nice rolling tires. For florida I want fun. Not too much bike. As far as I can tell now. The Bronson is funner. But less efficient than my full 29 Hightower! 😃

I just received my Bronson, the exact same as you. Your video was the first review I watched btw. I still have to get used to the front big wheel, because I feel like the bike is much bigger than my old one, but on the first ride it felt really good.

I run a ton of profile parts on my BMX bike, the engagement on their hubs is phenomenal and they sound great. How’s the Bronson for pedaling and climbing?

Best all around bike I’ve ever owned. Love the MX wheels. I do recommend getting shorter cranks. I switched to 165. I was pedal striking everything. It climbs so good!!
