The misuse of “females” for women is very of putting.

Can you help me understand why that word makes you cringe? I've heard people say that before, and I don't get it.
@FaceofAdonai
@FaceofAdonai Жыл бұрын
@faithtvonline it’s because female is an adjective to describe a particular thing. A female bird, dog, chimpanzee etc. We are women and unfortunately I think throwing around female can come across flippant and demeaning even if unintentional.

I love this conversation it was so refreshing! But one critique I have is that I wish more of the panel would’ve got the opportunity to speak because I would’ve loved to hear more from the older people on the panels experience and more from the couple therapist.

This is the second year I’ve tuned in to listen and not been disappointed (still single though haha!). This kinda real is what we need in the church. It’s interesting that Australia seems to have the exact same issues as you all do over in the US. I’m a 32 year old woman, make great money, love Jesus but just cannot find a man who loves Jesus and isn’t intimidated that I “make more” - so good that Ps Stephen addressed that point! Also, we too sensitive here in church too 😂 these people don’t wanna date at church coz “what if we break up?!” 😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Stop that! Haha

I think all the union churches should have a singles convention with workshops and mixers for Christian singles to meet each other. The ratio of women to men in the singles groups in the Charlotte campus are extremely disproportionate..

Shout outs to those who have success with the dating apps. It's no longer for me, due to the past experience that I've dealt. I believe that my future hubby/purpose partner will meet in public. I have put waaaay much effort into dating. We will connected and I pray that God removes ALLL distractions from us.

Yessss this is the comment I've been looking for, for so long! I also spent so much time on dating apps back when I was dating unintentionally (without godliness) and I just see how much "trash" there is in the sea since those experiences. Don't really care to do the app life again. I believe I'll meet my spouse in public too (or at church).

I too have, many male friends but had to create healthy distance/ boundaries with them because a friend of mine told me I hang out with my male friends too much a potential person may think I'm dating one of them, but we were really genuinely friends. We're still friends though I just am intentional with how much time I spend with them and how long. I also tell the person I'm dating about them, what we're doing etc

This is so good, but so much of this doesn’t apply. I live in a small town and everyone at my church is either married or young or not attractive to me. So if you live in a bigger city, this is all applicable - if not then it’s extra hard for us. Most of my dating has happened long distance because of the lack of good Godly men.

What is the difference between being “serious about Christ” and being a “Daughter of the Temple”?
@Zayindjejfj
@Zayindjejfj 21 күн бұрын
If I'm not mistaken, "daughter of the temple" is sort of suggestive that the women in question are not actually godly. They're there as eye candy. They dress a certain way to attract men and are even openly sexually immoral. "Daughter of the temple" I believe is what they called women who were prostitutes near temples and churches. Like the name Jezebel. It's not something a woman wants to be known as.

. I don't think there's anything wrong with deciding to be single to avoid hurt or pain. There is nothing in the Bible that says there is anything wrong with deciding to be single. Paul even encourages singleness. Now, if you are sitting around not being healed of the deeper issues, then yes, that is a problem. But as long as you aren't living in your pain, there's nothing wrong with being informed by past experiences to make a decision to be single. I wish they had included more biblical context in these arguments. The bible also says it's better for a man not to touch a woman so......ya.

It was interesting that the lady couldn't answer the question "what does a woman bring to the table." A man is expected to pay for all these dates... Be all this... Look like this... make this much money... Be this tall... Be this charming... Be all that and then some.... And take on all the burden of a relationship. But when the women are expected to bring something they can't answer that question. Women who think "well I put my make up on it was expensive and the guy is wasting my time" are kind of just full of themselves. They've nothing to offer so they resort to the superficial aspects about themselves.
