One of my favourite bikes of all time. Theres a reason it and the DR650 are virtually unchanged since '96 or whenever, Suzuki pretty much got it right the first time... Theres just something extra fun about small displacement bikes, You can play around at the machines peak output and be left wanting just a little bit more, rather than having it try to kill you before you even got her fully opened up... When I heard they would no longer be imported into my country I made sure to get a brand new one off the last shipment, a 2021 in black.

Tell your friend to use the reserve if he runs low on gas, just remember to switch to the “ON” setting after getting gas…

On the topic of the carburetor, Suzuki literally *can’t* change it because it’s grandfathered in. Any sort of change requires emissions recertification which is expensive as hell.
@Mikalrowley2 ай бұрын
I’m sure they could do it

@@Mikalrowley Sure, but then it would probably cost over $10k. You may as well buy a 450L or Euro bike at that point.

Did you just say 5th gear feels like an r6? 😂
@MikalrowleyАй бұрын
Yes, I meant pull wise. Equally each gear feels like it’s giving the same amount of power, not like - an example: a Grom, where once you get to 4th the power feels like it’s coming to an end if that makes sense!
@600baddadАй бұрын
@Mikalrowley it makes a little sense. Honestly, I didnt mean to just send that. I hit send early, really solid review. The drz is a weird bike man, I feel like 1st is long, second is crazy short, 3 and 4 are quick and then 5 is long as can be to wring out. It's clunky. But it's been the perfect second bike..

Hahahaha it is strange. I have a KLR and I’ve realised it being carbureted is why it feels like that. Just instant power. I don’t own this one it’s my friends he just let me do a review on it. What was the first bike that you got?
@600baddadАй бұрын
@Mikalrowley I started on a ninja 650 a few years ago, then grabbed a cbr600rr and added the drz like 2 months ago. I love the smell of these things when you fire them up...

I just subbed. The 650 is an amazing starter bike and yessss love the smell 😂😂😂😂

DRZ 400 looks very odd and old school, square mirrors, and blocky brake light, no fuel gauge, headlight looks like its old school. The KLR 650 is the way to go. But I would never put supermoto tires on the KLR, why do you want it to look like a dirtbike yet have supermoto wheels on it? The KLR has Fuel injection and ABS, the Adventure model comes with Adventure lights, all LED, Hard bags with tons of storage, a slip on pipe and airbox modification on a KLR gives it 10% more HP, has 6.5 gallon tank. Does 90 on the interstate easy and you don't see any vibrations at all in the mirrors. (THE DRZ400 only has 31 HP) If you want a "supermoto" get an old 2 Stroke CR250R a new piston / rings is 100$ new plastics and graphics kit is 140$ and supermoto wheels and tires are 900$ (depending) and so potentially be in a supermoto bike that weights 220 lbs for2200$

Different strokes for different folks, just got a drz as my first bike after owning 90s Japanese cars for years. The styling/ simplicity is definitely a plus for me… although a gas gauge would be nice haha.
