Those are crazy I watched someone demonstrate how low they can lean and its mind blowing. Of course I'd never get close to that but it's still impressive as hell. 5 year goal is buying a home then buying a bike that can jump something. And honestly hoping to do it in 2🤞

Thank you! I've had a month or so without riding was thinking boy I sure could make my financial goals faster if I sold this bike... took one ride and said f all that lol the drz is for a buddy but I sure wish I had a bike that could do offroad like it does!

I rode a buddies new KTM Super Duke today and while an awesome bike it made me appreciate the pothole-absorbing suspension on my KTM 1090R ADV on the ride home on some cruddy Dallas roads that my truck bounces around on! Good for your buddy, that first shiny new bike is super exciting. I recommend some alloy handlebars (such as Pro-Taper) and framed handguards such as Cycra if he will be doing any offroad (one good drop and stock aluminum ones tend to bend). Also, metal bashplate around the front of the engine helps a lot in the gnarly stuff (most come with useless plastic ones).

I'm going to send him a ss of this I didn't think of stock bars bending that's very insightful. I just ordered some bars and an extended clutch cable for my own just to have more space to get the tiny lil dik mirrors to have some vision because I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get rear ended one day as it currently sits.

The factory seat on my DRZ400s was horrible like sitting on a 2x4 I put a seat concepts seat on it and now I can ride all day. I’m replacing the rear brake line with the stainless mesh line, I’ve heard that will help, old brake lines will expand under pressure, the reinforced lines don’t. I think he’ll enjoy the DRZ400s. I’m 6’2” and it’s still tall and I try to not stop on uneven ground.

I think it's possible the seat wasn't great but all the seats I have experience with were just worse lol (kawasaki 636, r1, now xsr900) which is really really sad. He was riding 5 or 6 days a week last tim we talked. He already has more bikes than me lol

This reminds me of my youth, my single cylinder bike was a 1977 Yamaha dt400 mono shock. 10 bikes have come and gone since then, my neighbor is offering me his 1 owner 2002 Honda VTX 1800 For $3,000. ( New tires and brakepads) I think I'll pass and geta silverwing. I enjoy your channel, it takes me back to my youth and the enthusiasm I've had for motorcycles.

For the first time in years prices are starting to go down and inventories are high. The only thing that's working against us is those dang interest rates but cash buyers don't incur those penalties so there's that. Thanks Matt, that's 100% my goal I love this all so much I want everyone to have something like we have with riding! Cheers and let me know what you buy and how you like it!🫡

I grew up riding horses and dirt bikes. As a DRZ sm owner i can say for sure they are one in the same 😄

Nice refreshing revue my man. I think its a good thing you didn't do a lot of reading up before the ride as most people do and they seem to rattle off the same old things every time. Was so good to hear that the seat is cumphy because according to most its a four by two but think it depends on how big your but is, Im a skinny bugga so its good for me. There is no fuel indicator so glad you made it home lol. I had a RM 80 from age six and had XR 250's and other dirt bikes, when it came time to get a road bike i went to sumos and never want anything else. Well... i want your bike and a fue others but the mighty DRZ does it for me.

I think I was most excited when he showed me he got one because I remember you mentioning yours and I didn't have any experience to draw from at the time. It definitely has me jonesing for something sumo or motocross. I don't really value street capability because I have that with the xsr, I wanna hit jumps and woops and clear those doubles I never could as a kid!

The stock seat is VERY good, Period.....the people that complain have old clapped out junk, or was ridden by a 300lbs fatass!! because I've ridden Tons of street motorcycles that were Far Far worse than my DRZ, trust me.... But then again my DRZ was Brand New, not Used. So seat cushions are just fresh and good when something is new. Anytime you buy used, the material can be worn and loses structure fast.

Ya I agree. It was very surprising for me but on a bike made to also do offroad stuff I think it makes sense to put a really soft seat. I want one!

That place must be kinda new…where’s that place in relation to Best Stop? I’m from around there. I went to Comeaux high back in the 90s. Oh…that’s across I-10 from best stop. Lol

You got me man, I'm not from the area either. It's about 30 mins from me. All these roads were brand new to me so I cant really say in regards to landmarks.
