I took the plunge and bought an Ioniq 6 Limited last month It's the first car in decades that makes me smile every time I drive it. I haven't enjoyed driving this much since my '87 Saab SPG. For those who don't like the styling... go see one in person. It looks amazing in person.

As an Ioniq 5 owner in the southwest, I have to say the public charging experience has been pretty good so far. Not perfect, but respectable. I have achieved the advertised charge times, but the norm is a bit longer. Like 5 minutes longer. No big deal. Overall I’m extremely pleased with the car.

Went with the Ioniq 6 and love it. Never had an issue DC charging at EA. Two years free too. It’s a great EV to drive. Love the 20” rims. Different from all the teslas I see daily

Looks are important to me. Not as important but it's up there. The Ioniq 6 just looks like a cockroach and there are not federal incentives. It's a pass for me. A body style change would make it very appealing to me.

I feel like many buy cars today based on the look on the car. I am one of those people in which this plays a big role. That said, I would likely go for the Ionic 6 for the reasons you mentioned and its looks.

Don’t particularly like the design of the Ioniq 6. The new Model 3 HW4 Highland should be much better in design and engineering than the previous model. The affordable Model 2 will be the one for the masses. Great analysis and review as always.

Any idea whether the Hyundai Ioniq 6 18 inch aluminum wheels shown at 1:43 with the silver blades would fit on a Tesla Model 3?

Yes, the Ioniq 6 is a much more polished car with more luxury and comfort. But one better think about what is under the hood. Tesla has been making electric cars for over a decade and this experience shows where it is most important, for the electric drive system, for the battery conditioning and cooling, and for the software that is integrated fully with the Supercharger network. The drive system is quite reliable and compact allowing for a much larger frunk up front, the battery preconditions automatically before a drive and on the way to a Supercharger for optimal and safe charging, the cooling system is an efficient design that integrates all the cooling with the heat pump / AC rather than having three separate cooling systems with separate and incompatible fluids, with extra multiple valves and pumps with future maintenance a likely nightmare, and the software, while lacking Apple Car Play is responsive and reliable -- something needed on road trips. Yes, think twice when buying an electric vehicle - don't look just at the bling and shine of the vehicle, look at what is under the hood first, for after all a car is to get you from point A to point B reliably and hopefully more than for the warranty period of the vehicle.

The Model 3 with a sport back would be ideal for utility like the Ioniq 5. The Ioniq 6 looks promising hopefully the next design facelift will be better. The BMW i4 with the buck teeth is what I still prefer.

In Canada for the same kilometers range the ionic 6 is actually cheaper than the Tesla.

I like the design of the Ioniq6 and the dashboard that looks like a regular car dashboard. I like the design of the Tesla Model 3. I chose the Tesla 3 because it is easier to charge and buy.

There are deals until 9/6/23 and with current deals I was able to get $12,500 off the loaded Limited dual motor unit.

People are generally quite smart about buying, tesla software and hardware is decades ahead of the competition. That's why they sell so many Tesla's

it'll be the tesla highland for me, hyundai / KIA dealer is a joke in where I am in BC Canada, BS sales men over hype and jackup price for ioniq 6 / EV6, don't need to deal with any of that with model 3 and honestly, I think model 3 is more reliable than hyundai EV

The Tesla haters have been touting the next "Tesla killer" for years and they haven't found one yet. Tesla still dominates the BEV market with more sales than ALL the other manufacturers combined. The Ioniq 6 will be no different. It's a nice looking car, but a little weak on power and range compared to the Model 3. Hyundai's biggest problem though will be their limited production. There will not be enough Ioniq 6s built to make a significant dent in Tesla's sales lead anytime in the foreseeable future.

Tesla doesn't have a 360-degree camera that's why i prefers the Ioniq 6

EVs have taken a bad turn. Hybrids with 40+ MPG are more economical to drive than EVs. They used to boast gas savings but cost of charging has gone up 2x in the past 2 years
