Why would anyone buy a Hybrid when you can buy an EV? Ok, hear us out. There is a lot to like about the Venza. Not everyone wants to commit to an electric car, but everyone wants an opportunity to save money on fuel. Enter the 2023 Toyota Venza. This is a car that captures the hearts of car buyers who want to save fuel, and aren't quite ready to deal with range anxiety. Toyota has put a lot of thought into the 2023 Venza. Not only is it a fully Hybrid vehicle, it also feels and rides luxuriously. If you didn't know any better, you would think you were in a Lexus. Toyota knows how to build a great car, and they are the leaders of Hybrids, so it's no wonder the 2023 Toyota Venza is as good as it is. In this episode, Brad and Jared find out who the Venza is for and add to the list of why it's still King in an EV world. With three fantastic trim levels, you will find a Venza that meets your needs and welcomes you to the Hybrid world. But what do the critics say? Watch our full review to hear everything you need to know about the 2023 Toyota Venza.
**Thank you to Forbes Waterloo Toyota for letting us borrow this 2023 Toyota Venza**
**The 2023 Toyota Venza in this review had snow tires installed and did not have the factory wheels.

I drove the RAV4 hybrid and the Venza back to back in test drives. The Venza was noticeably quieter and made it an easy choice for us. Just bought our 2023 Venza Limited last week!

@@HoodSlappersOfficial The RAV4 Hybrid is nice has more interior cargo space, however the better seats, and folding mirrors set the Venza apart. There's definitely more sound deadening material in the Venza.

My Husband and I have the '23 Venza XLE, and it's such a stunner. We upgraded from a '21 Venza LE and plan on driving our car until the wheels fall off. The transmission is a ECVT which is built to be simple and long lasting. Truthfully, Toyota is the only company I'll tolerate a CVT in because its absolutely smooth! Highly recommend!!!

Thanks for sharing Heather. Sounds like you really love your Venza. That’s awesome. It’s funny, when we reviewed this Venza, someone saw us and asked if it was for sale. We hooked them up with the dealership who let us borrow it and they sold them a Venza. That told us it’s not only long lasting, but certainly eye catching. We wish you all the best and hope the wheels stay on a long time. :)

The Venza and the RAV4 hybrid share the same hybrid AWD system, producing the same power output. I chose the RAV4 Hybrid because it was less expensive and had more cargo space. I will keep this vehicle until I hit the lottery, and I don't play the lottery, which gives me about the same chance to win as those who do.

I found out the 2024 Venza would be the last year, so I bought an XLE model. What a really nice car. I've had RAV4s before the Venza, which was really nice too. However, the Venza is fancier, and sportier looking and more expensive looking. Like a Lexus. The ride is smoother than a RAV4, there is less noise too. I really like my new Venza!

We bought our 2022 Blizzard Pearl Venza XLE last year. Absolutely love it and the fact that it’s made in Japan was a big plus for us. It took four months to get it shipped from Japan and once it arrived at the dealer in Glendale, California our sales person told me about 20 people were circling the Venza thinking they could buy it. They were told it was pre-ordered. The last time I took it in for service, our sales rep told me the delay is now closer to nine months for delivery on the model we ordered.

That’s amazing. You are the envy of all. Congratulations on the purchase and the timing. Consider yourself lucky. We really enjoyed it. It is smoother and has a better ride than the Rav4. Love the name. Definitely one of the best John Candy movies. As for the wait, Toyota does have some long waits. But, it’s better to get you name on the list now because you never know what those people in front of you might do. A lot of people don’t give up waiting and then you move up in line. When it finally arrives on the dealers lot, you’ll be glad you did. Thanks for watching. Best of luck.

I'm not sure if you gentlemen know, but the Venza didn't really go away during the 2016 to 2020 years. Outside of North America, the Venza is known as the Harrier. This "second" generation Venza is really a fourth generation Harrier. I wish that this car would have carried that name in North America. The Harrier is a very awesome jet too. I own the 2023 Nightshade XLE, and it's all black; I was going to hop on the RAV4 bandwagon, but luckily, the guy who reserved the one I purchased changed his mind. For some, it maybe too black, but it looks like a car that belongs in an action movie. I love the edges of the car, and many think it's a luxury vehicle. The best thing about the 2023 model is Toyota dropped the hybrid badge; so, the only hybrid indication is the blue color on the Toyota logo. While it is not super quiet, I do hear road noises as I drive, the, overall, feel is relaxing and the seats and the "leather" material is very comfortable. For me, this is a car for people who want the view of an SUV, but the comfort of a nice sedan. The vehicle really handles potholes well.

We're in the US, and we've been buying Lexuses and Toyotas for almost 30 years. We'd been on waitlist(s) for a Venza for about a year. We wanted a particular trim, and exterior/interior colors, but you can't really order one the way you want it; you have to take what the factory spews out. I wanted to negotiate on price, and I'm "allergic" to dealer add-on fees, including big BS "Doc" fees. Can't do that with Toyota these days; I'm just fed up with their arrogance. Last month we bought a Mazda CX-5. They were willing to negotiate, and they had vehicles to choose from. Enough is enough. Also, I'd have to drive about 250,000 miles to make up the price difference (at $3 per gallon where we live). In Canada, with their gas priced much higher, it works out to about 80,000 miles.

Mazda is a great brand too. Toyota is great, but around here wait times are so long. We are glad you were able to get something. A lot of manufacturers are starting to add “dealer fees” to their website pricing. So it seems add ons are coming. Thanks for watching.

Received an email yesterday from the dealership saying my Venza was shipped and on its way. What’s more amazing is that I am getting exactly what I asked for. Lately Toyota has been adding on all these extras directly from the factory so you either take it or leave it. I only wanted the all weather mats as an extra and that is exactly what I am getting. (Im 69). #2 Ive read on line of issues of windshields cracking. This car too had cracked windshield starting from the top right center down the bottom center. It was not rock damage. I think its caused from structural pressure on the glass

Exactly, and I tried for four months (on a list) this year to obtain a Venza Limited, no go. And I was transacting with the largest dealer in the Houston area. In fact, one dealer told me I was trying to get a "unicorn". LOL I was lucky enough to obtain the 2023 Lexus ES300h, Ultra Luxury. It's the Ultra Luxury trim, which is what we wanted and is the highest trim for the ES hybrid. It is the Cloudburst Gray exterior with Acorn color semi-aniline leather interior. Total Installed Packages & Accessories: 1) Premium Triple-beam LED headlamps; 2) Smartacess Card Key; 3) Premium Paint; 4) Lexus Interface with 12.3-in Multimedia Touchscreen Display; 5) Ultra Luxury Package; 6) All weather floor liners and trunk mat; 7) Door edge film by 3M; 8) The Preferred Accessory Package; and 9) The Dealer added a 5-year windshield protection/replacement coverage package and tinted the driver and passenger windows. MORE: The three-projector headlamp design creates an eye-catching L shape. Adding to this brilliant design, the headlamps feature LED side turn signals, as well as an Adaptive Front Lighting System6 that uses steering and speed sensors to direct the angle of low-beam illumination as the vehicle enters a curve. The Adaptive Front Lighting System monitors steering and speed with a suite of sensors and will automatically adjust the angle of your low-beam headlights to improve visibility on curved roads. Ultra Luxury extras: 1) 18-inch split-five-spoke alloy noise-reduction wheels and Michelin "green" tires; 2) Power rear sunshade with manual rear-door sunshades; 3) Power open/close trunk with kick sensor; 4) 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen display 10.2-inch Head-Up Display; and 5) Intuitive Parking Assist with Auto Braking and Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Panoramic View Monitor. Averaging 43+ MPG City/Hwy driving and I had the oil and filter changed at 1,000 miles for my own peace of mind. Just For Reference: I was not going to wait one-year or 10,000 miles to have the factory installed oil & filter changed. And, I shall be changing the Oil (Liqui Moly 0W-16 Spec V) and Toyota filter every 5,000 miles from now on. Like Scotty Kilmer says, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. LOL 🤔

RAV4, Tucson, Sportage: More room/cargo space (38 cu ft vs 29 cu ft), less luxurious. A bit cheaper. Opposite for the Venza, which has a smaller trunk but noticeably nicer interior, has a HUD in addition, costs more money, and has a better ride. Depends on your priorities. This is even more so for the Lexus NX, which has even less rear leg room (35in) and cargo space (22 cu ft) and is even more expensive, but also more luxurious.

The first Gen Venza, in my opinion, is a far more attractive and unique automobile than the new Venza. In fact I would dare to say that the new Venza isnt even a Venza at all. They just took a name and stuck it on a whole other car . While the old Venza was really a one of a kind car and looked similar for its entire run, it seems rather arbitrary to just name this disguised Rav 4 the all new Venza. I've heard people say the old Vemza is starting to show its age. The fact that the body style didnt change much for its entire run is a testament to its very unique, and ahead of it time design. Its a one of a kind look. Its not an NPC fish mouth mobile. And when you see an original Venza it sparks a genuine curiosity. I also believe that the name Venza is not the right name for the American market. My wife is part Sicilian and her name happens to be Vincenza. Its a very beautiful feminine name , but despite its commonality in Italy, North Americans find a way to butcher it beyond belief. This, I believe, initiated the failure of the Venza. Whats in a name? A whole hell of a lot. And as much as there is a push to feminize machismo., Men will mostly not go with a car that sounds overtly feminine. I believe the same thing will happened with the new Venza. The name and the car did not translate to the American mind. Like Sushi, as delicious and fun and refined as it is, they just cant not get the burger and fries. So they opted for the Ford Edge instead. Albiet an ok looking vehicle, though i could only see myself renting, but never letting it become a member of the family. Like the Lexus dealern said, when i recently bought a 2015 Venza AWD V6 in barcalona Red , that the New Venza was not the same; that it got 'ravified'. He said the word as if it the car itself had been lobomised. Yet for some reason, the 2nd generation Venza seems to be selling well compared to the real one. That could simply speak to the fact that most people have no taste for design. Or Toyota is marketing it better. Because anyone who would say that the new Venza looks better than the orginal needs to have there eyes examined. :)

Venza does not sound any more feminine than Lexus, Lamborghini etc. Americans are too obsessed with masculine/feminine blue/,pink a bit too much unfortunately.

Those are snow tires Vlad. Not the coolest looking wheels, but good for Canadian weather. Thanks for watching.

Great question. We don’t remember off hand. Probably a 16” or 17” rim. They are winter tires. The OEM alloys look much better. Thanks for watching.

@@LivingInAnInverseReality So why not just buy the real lexus? A fully loaded venza is over 50k where i live. Extremely overpriced, just the 4runners.

@@turbocx9 No, Ive seen many reviews and they all say Lexus like without the high price tag. I’m getting an LE for $37k. It does not have leather but I dont like leather.

I have booked a Toyota Venza XLE here in Mississauga on Oct 2022 last year ,still waiting ,no idea if I will get this year.So disappointing with a brand like Toyota.

Sorry to hear this. We have heard that a Venza can be up to a 2 year wait. It is nice to get updates though. These are the sort of things manufacturers should take the lead on and help take the street off of dealerships. With so many back orders, it’s hard for a dealer to keep up with everyone. Hopefully you will receive good news soon.
