The Big, the Bad & the Behemoth. Triumph add a huge tank size to their already big ADV. So if you are interested in long range adventures, you now have 4 choices this year & more choice can be a good thing.

I have a 2022 GT Pro I did try the GSA but I felt the Triumph’s damping was far more tuneable (9 stages) than the BMW’s and more suited to our crappy roads here in the U.K. The other reason for purchase is theTriumph is now made (European models only) here in England, and has the greatest number of in-house parts than any other mass produced brand. 🇬🇧

I just saved my honor! I did a test ride last weekend on a Tiger 1200 Rally Pro. Everything was smooth, but when I turning very slowly to park in front of the dealer, the engine stalled and I did not realized that the bike was so taller then my 2017 TEX, and I could not hold it. I just felt in front of the dealer, with a lot of customers watching me. I was quite shame. Now, I have something else to blame. Thanks 😂

The seat on the Tiger is the best seat I ever had on a bike and the engine is amazing! For me it was an easy choice. The BMW was outdated, heavier and boring to ride. I have no problems with stalling.

14:23. I wanted the rally but the height was just too much and I'm 6'1" so I got the GT. Funny though I ended up getting used to the height so put the GT in the high position which is only 5mm lower than the Rally low position. I probs would be fine with the Rally after all but I don't do much dirt roads so am happy with the GT.

I really like your reviews!!! It will interesting to see what the "new" 1300/ 1400 BMW GS & GSA will be like?!? In the meantime (it can surely be argued) IMO the BMW GS is "overall" one step or at least half a step ahead of all the others in this category. As for me, I no longer need/ want one of these big adventures (different strokes for different folks).

I'd say the standard Africa Twin fits more into the mid size adventure bikes in terms of weight and the overall handling of it, that bike is agile and feels lightweight.

I have a 23 Rally Explorer. Massive issue is 1st gear idle speed. Bikes should really be able to crawl around in 1st gear under 10kph. The Triumph sits at 18kph. This means in heavy traffic or off-road you are constantly on the clutch. When doing ‘self recovery’ (walking beside the bike while it is under its own power) you are again needing to be heavy on the clutch. Any bike that is targeted at adventure riding needs a lot of consideration for slow speed riding. If you get stuck in a boggy track that you need to get out of without the ability to self recover the bike (and you) may be stranded till you get rescued. Rider be aware.

Nice job as always. Biggest downfall for me are the User Interface/dashboard, it just irks me with the system wrench always flashes over the time or you get some ice condition warning always flashing.... you cannot reset without the dealer and there isn't even an odometer on the main screen. Alot of space on that screen and not much useful info shown. Wish they made the GT Pro/Explorer engine without the alternate firing order so you could choose to have that classic triple sound.

Thank you for the video! It's quite informative. Although this Tiger it's the same platform with the ones you tested earlier (gt and rally pro) I would like to have the complete review in one video. But maybe this is me :) I have a question/suggestion. I appreciate your detailed presentation and your unbiased perspective. You're doing this in Avery video since years. So is it possible to have on the charts - maybe in a separate row - but also in your narration what is the weight of the motorcycle with 20L fuel? My feeling is that let's say Africa Twin appears to weight less than the GSA or the Rally Explorer. About 22kg. But in truth if we add 8L of fuel plus engine guards it might end up been equal if not heavier. So it would be very useful to know how much the motorcycles are weighting with equal fuel and basic accessories even if they do not come equipped from the factory. At least to have an estimation. And although not a scientific way, do you think it is a good idea to add a "lift from the stand" test by placing a scale next to the stand under your left foot and measure how much kg need to take it off the stand? There is so much diversity in how the different brands are dealing with the weight. KTM has low tank, BMW the boxer, Triumph is promising low center of gravity etc. And as we know no one is lifting the motorcycle. We balance the weight. So it would be interesting to find some points we apply pressure like the handlebars and the left foot and measure how much pressure we apply. Of course people have different height/seam and so we will have a slightly different seat-to-ground leg angle therefore different pressure but your height/seam can be considered "average" and you could give us and indication by placing a scale and a camera capturing the values. Also maybe one scale under the front and one under the rear wheel can give us the real weight. Some brands are announcing the sum of the individual components as the weight instead of the actual weight. Since you make all the effort to create these videos and analyze the charts I thought you might want to add/give us some more actual and practical values. It is just a suggestion as I never saw anyone doing this and I believe it will be really helpful. Again, thank you so much for all your efforts! Greetings from Berlin, Constantin

So far we have adjusted the clutch lever to 3 and i may go to 2 because that helps at the slow speeds. The main issue is this engine was supposed to have V twin characteristics below 4000rpm and inline characteristics above that, but it does seem mostly to have the inline reving character throughout. Maybe a Scrambler 1200xe would be the better choice, the specs say that torque peaks at 3950rpm Any advice from you is Greatly appreciated Thank you

@NothingToProve
@NothingToProve Жыл бұрын
Well, when you first turn the ignition on, on any bike or car, all the warning lights cycle through, basically telling you that it's not "burned out". Once started, all the light slowly go off, ABS is usually the last because you have to start rolling (usually depending on the make). If after rolling a few and a light is still on, you know you have a problem. take care, Scott
