2023 ZX4RR full unlock test an epic battle with another ZX4RR
on the newly paved Laguna Seca track. The surface is much grippier with much greater mechanical traction and friction. Was running Pirelli SC3 tires in 160/60-17 Rear and SC3 120/70-17 Front. 33psi Front, 25 psi rear. Tires handled, gripped and wore amazing!
Tires warmers set to 75C.
Gearing: Stock, needs to lower gearing. Next change. 13T/46T
Vcyclenut ECU reflash and Yosh-replica header and Graves Ti slip-on rear canister.
Suspension: front stock with full preload. Shock stock but dialed near firm on C & R.
Zero Gravity Corsa windscreen.
NEXT: Need rearsets for more corning clearance. You can hear my boots scraping at the corkscrew
Big Thanks to Corey Neuer for the incredible session!
Helpful to get a handle on the track, decent track, lines, etc.
Shot with GoPro 11 Black. 5.0 hyper smooth. Looks fantastic and makes everything look so slow.
Thanks for watching.
Apologies for the lack of editing.

The 4 Cyl gives you the same sound as bigger bike but without risking your life ! On a 1000cc young stupid bikers purchase the sound at high RPM untill they found themselvs at 200 km/h ! But with the 4 Cyl you can hear that sound at only 100 km/h 😎So its safer

@@alhassanait1749 His speedometer is set in MPH too so that 400 really books around the track, he'd be beating up on a lot of sports cars at this pace. Even slow bikes are fast. I couldn't get this sound out of my Cbr954, revs out at 12k and even in 1st gear that's like 150kph (90 mph). It's honestly too fast for anyone that's not a motoGP racer to really use to its full potential. I wish I had room for one of these. They're gonna be highly sought after for years.

I've only ridden the ZX25R before and it's such a pleasant experience. The 20K redline means going through city streets sounding like a whole MotoGP bike all under the speed limit. Looking forward to test riding the ZX4RR though I'd have to wait since it's relatively rare in Indonesia, unlike the ZX25 which locally manufactured.

I completely agree. I think if you had a fully raced, prepped ZX four RR, it would be quite competitive against the twins cup class. The twins would have a slight advantage in total horsepower. But the ease of use and smoothness of that small small four-cylinder is quite impressive. I’ll be looking to try. The changes made during the off-season and see if I could get a couple of our local pro riders to test it. Then will be able to take advantage of the stickier Pirelli Super Corsa SC1 & SC2s. The corner and clearance with the stock foot pegs were the limitation. That is now been solved.

I think it depends what you’re using for. If it’s purely a first bike and on the street, I would definitely go for a parallel twin. More torque much easier to use the 399 cc in line 4 needs a lot of RPMs to get moving well. On the race track it has the advantage with all the extra RPMs up top. Again, if it’s a first bike and you want it to be a sport bike I would probably do the ninja 400. I love the RC 390 or that new SM Moto 450 parallel twin or now with the new Aprilia 457 in the category that would be my first choice. Of course on the street I wouldn’t pick a Sportbike. I think the new try 400 would be incredible.

You shouldn't worry about power as a first bike. Proper skills and technique will take you further. Nothing worse than a newbie who buys into gotta have the biggest n baddest bike. Who ends up afraid of it and doesn't learn the proper skills. Bikes should be like a stepping stone you graduate up to. I've seen it before multiple times. Don't be that guy there's much more to it then just going fast. An R3 or the standard ninja 400. Will teach you plenty. There's a lil unknown secret riding a small bike fast is much more fun than ridding a big bike slow. Most of the guys I've ran into on 600's n 1000's can't ever use. Take advantage of a quarter of the Bikes potential. Start off right not the wrong way. From someone who's been riding bikes for 40 years.

Now that they've announced the Ninja 500, I would get that bike. It's only about 9 lbs heavier than the NInja 400, but has more torque and power at a lower rev range too. I got the Ninja 400 as my first sportbike before upgrading to a ZX4-RR, and I can say that there are a lot of lessons you need to learn on a lighter and less expensive bike. You are going to drop and crash the bike, it's inevitable if you want to ride it for fun, so better learn the basics on a cheaper one.

@@eddiestone4528 Yeah I know. Just saying. Between a parallel twin 400 and an IL4 400, this one is better. Personally I prefer literbikes. Have had several since 2004. Nothing beats the fxxk me factor of a 4 cyl machine, be it an IL4 or V4.

the ZX4RR has Quick DOWN??
@williamonthewestside
@williamonthewestside 6 ай бұрын
Yes it does. It has quick shifting up and down with blip option. Actually quite good. It makes for much more efficient laps.

@williamonthewestside I turned off the KQS on my 19 ZX6 after like 2500mi it was clunky and slow IMO. Blip shifting felt more direct and such. But that blip down would be neat.

@@NinjaInTheFirstDegree you can see one of the other videos I posted I accidentally turned the quick shifter off. My laptops were awful. Couldn’t get in sync transitioning gears was slipping the clutch too much. Bikes are definitely designed to have the quick shifter active.

you take an odd line thru 1, (seca) seems you slow it down and lose momentum, little bike? I pen that corner up the size of baseball field, the kink dumps you far right you take time and momentum moveing tight left right at the entry to 1 slows it way down to negotiate turn, no drive . . open that turn up big as ya please and cut it right in half as in round it in the middle of the tarmac, don't clip the apex, stay centered in the road all the way round a nice big fast turn nice fast smooth line right down the middle, when you clip it tight you have to slow too much, lose drive, stand the bike up still hanging off and pin it

I think you are right. Turn one is one of my challenges. I need to stay farther to the right so I can keep the throttle open longer and keep more momentum into turn too.
