Not the first one to come up with this idea, but sharing my experience building my own acclimation box for cheap!

My favorite angel is one that I cannot get right now (take a guess, hint: it's from Hawaii) lol. But Gold Flake is definitely growing on me and is my wife's favorite!

Great update! Give them another day or two. Don't let it get to you. You've had them for this long. Looking forward to your next video

You can also use a stepper drill bit which allows you to drill a range of holes with just one bit. And you’re right about how expensive a plastic box can be when it’s for a reef tank… I left a purple tang in one for almost a month due to immediate aggression from my white tailed bristle tooth and desjardini tangs. Even after that it took a few days of tail slapping for the pecking order to reestablish. Got lucky?😅

Hopefully all your fish are doing fine with aggression subsided by now. I honestly have not seen any of my existing fish to show even a slight interest to these Goldflake and convict tang I might just let them out sooner than later. My wife asked me yesterday "how long are they going to be in jail for?" makes me feel bad lol.

Thanks for the video I was just looking for something like this! Did you quarantine all those chromis?
@Stevenliu9 Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I hope this inspires you to build your own DIY acclimation box, cheap and effective. The chromis here I did not quarantine. I know this is not the best practice, but personally I rarely see chromis perish from infectious parasites outside of uronema (visible body sores), and uronema (normally, some rare exceptions) stays with the host so I am less inclined to put them through all the additional stress.
