You did your research - hopefully landing on my review of the excellent Chevy Trax - and said to yourself, I don’t typically agree with Steve’s opinion but, what the heck, this time I’m taking the old man’s advice and going with this Chevy. But then you heard mumblings that Buick is selling essentially the same car but with greater curb appeal and now you’re thinking, is it worth the extra money? Well, today I’m here to sort that out.

Buick has made this “crossover” look like a sedan in the Envista. My only wish is the Envista had an upscale engine (1.3L turbo-3 in the Chevy Trailblazer and Buick Encore GX).

Good styling. But because it is a 3 cylinder I would not own this car out of warranty.

This is a very useful video. Thanks! The cars are both solid. The Buick is a beaut, but I think I’d pocket the extra money and grab a Trax. Of course, without AWD and Super Cruise (which I know would raise the price), it’s all just a thought exercise for me.

But why is there no IIHS crash test rating yet? That’s a no go for me. The 2024 Hyundai Kona received their highest rating,

The Envista is manufactured in Changwon, South Korea by GM Korea and in China by SAIC-GM.
