Nice Steven! You can make changes so if you decide to add XLT lux for heated seats then the difference in price is only $3400 more for a Lariat which has 18 features not on the XLT like push button start, B&O surround sound, and adaptive cruise.

I hear what you’re saying about increasing the odds of getting a Maverick “sooner” with a Lariat build. But I’ve never been a fan of all the “luxury” items that come with that trim level. Heated seats, power seat adjustment, etc. I just see it as more stuff that will possibly break/wear-down as time goes on. I’ve always bought my trucks with the intention of driving it until it’s done. Ideally I would have liked to buy an XLT Hybrid with CP360 and the manual sliding window. My intention being to pass it off to my daughter when she gets her license in 5 years. But I am waaaay too late to the Maverick party. Will definitely order a barebones hybrid next year, though…

Hello again Hero! Yes, if you want less features, the XL is the one to get but those odds are not good this year with all the 2023 rollovers. Buying new custom wheels can make an XL look even better than the XLT. But anyone in the cold that needs heated seats should get a Lariat for not much more than an XLT with lux. For the hybrid, I point out in this video it takes almost 2 years to recover the $1500 upcharge in fuel savings. But worse, some people pay $5k markup just to get a hybrid which takes over 7 years to recover in fuel savings!

Yes, I wrote the suggestion to get BAP in this video. The std Lariat brown seats will look good with the new Terrain color but not with Atlas Blue. It's another constraint that may cause delay, but don't compromise and wish you included something after delivery. Thanks again Bryson!

I feel like it really depends on the individual situation. I already had a car in good condition but just wanted a truck to fit my lifestyle. Was willing to wait for my hybrid xlt. Ordered sept 2022 and current have the exact car I want built and in the shipping process. I am happy I waited for exactly what I wanted and made no compromises. In my opinion the hybrid will retain its value better over time.

You are right about not compromising Gary. Order what you want even if it takes longer. You were smart to order the harder to get 2023 Mav hybrid last Sept. But for new builds, existing roll over orders like yours will consume most, if not all, of the 2024 hybrid capacity. Any new Mav orders have a much better chance of delivery with the EcoBoost engine, being produced at 65% of all builds. But the EcoBoost engine only makes sense with the more capable AWD & 4k tow as an adventure vehicle. Then when things calm down, hopefully next year, the hybrid will be more readily available. @@fordmaverickmaniac agree with you too. If I didn’t order the hybrid it would be the awd with 4K tow package all the way. At this point the only reason I would change my build is if they came out with an awd hybrid that could tow 4-5k. That thing would be become a new element on the periodic table: unobtainium.

I ordered a 2023 XLT Hybrid with Lux Package that got rolled over to a 2024. I upgraded my 2024 rollover to a Lariat and with my $3,400 rollover private offer the Lariat made the most sense especially since everything that is now standard on the Lariat.

You private offer covered the difference in cost from XLT to Lariat. Not bad! Since you saved a lot, I recommend adding the Black App pack to get rid of the brown and blue interior and the shiny wheels.

We placed an order mid August, base 2024 XL eco boost no options except $100 trailer hitch (great value!!!) , just received a text from Ford, will be built week of 11/27/2023! As to FWD vs AWD, I've never gotten stuck in any of my FWD cars through 40 years of driving in New York winters, and I've never even bought snow tires! Like Scotty Kilmer says, I only need to buy 2 snow tires for FWD, so maybe that's what I'll do with my Maverick!

Congrats on your order! Yes the hitch receiver and wiring harness all the way to the engine would cost a few hundred later. I am surprised that is so cheap from Ford. Kilmer's advice to only buy 2 snow tires makes no sense but I guess it is better than none. But your Mav will sure look odd with street tires in the rear.

Enjoyed your video. I would also agree the Lariat is the shortest line and the best value. We placed an order for a 2023 Lariat Hybrid in Sept of 2022. Never heard anything from Ford other than the dear John letters every 45 days. We ended up rolling that 2023 to a 2024 loaded Lariat Hybrid with the moon roof. We also ordered a second Lariat Hybrid for my daughter. Both have now been scheduled for production and I have both VIN numbers. The 23 rollover for Oct 16th and the new order for Oct 30th. Both are the same configuration, trim and options. Colors are the only difference. We needed to have the hybrid as it's the only one that can be flat towed behind our motorhome. Ford also provided a private offer and Farm Bureau discount which will net us 3K off MSRP.

Congrats on your big discount! That covers the $1500 upcharge on both hybrid engines. The moon roof is also great to help vent the hot air in the summer. Just one request: Can I be your son so you buy me a Lariat? Yes? Thanks!

XL is the best buy but hard to get. The people who pay $10k over should have ordered the easier to get Lariat at msrp for about the same price. Thanks for your comments it's good to hear from you again Bill!

For 2 drivers it makes sense because you get 2 trucks for the price of one full size. I show both versions on my videos. Use the hybrid for city mpg. Use the turbo AWD for ski trips or off road in mud & sand. But if you only get one, the turbo AWD gives you much more capability for not much more in fuel cost. And it is so fast and fun to drive.

Ordered a plain-jane white ecoboost AWD Lariat with BAP, 4K. Had the options I wanted after the change to 23 XLT. So I was like hell with it.

Atta boy Jeff! You made the right decision getting so many more features. With BAP, you probably spent 5k more than the XLT, still $8k below the avg cost of a new vehicle. I ordered an XLT hybrid last year and the day it arrived (13 months later), I ordered the Lariat Hybrid Lux (which was not available in Canada in 2023). I wanted rear parking sensors and the XLT can't have them. I may keep the XLT, would have preferred a Lariat Hybrid plug in.

Yes Ian, the original Canada Lariat was only available as an AWD. You were smart to upgrade because you got a lot more great features not available on XLT, like adaptive cruise, B&O sound, and built-in navigation. As for what to do with your XLT, I recommend keeping it like my 2 Mavericks. Spread the miles they will last twice as long and protect you from future inflation of truck prices.

Yes Steve, I did not expect this. The price increase must have stopped most flippers from ordering. There is still a long wait but that should end when other brands start making small trucks.

Ordered an XLT with a luxury package and a blackout package with an eco boost engine with AWD. It has enough bells and whistles to last me a while. I wanted something that is less expensive to operate other than the 4WD dodge Dakota I’ve been driving. From the looks of the current strike it looks like it might be a while before it’s in my driveway. The Mexican plant is not affected by the UAW since they have a Mexican union but my guess would be the parts that make up the truck like the transmissions that are made in the United States and shipped down there. I had considered buying a used Maverick but the dealers are having a feeding frenzy and the jacked up prices are a bit much. Guess I’ll just have to keep riding my ol dodge..

Yes Connie, Maverick parts will be a problem soon. Any shortages at Ford and the other manufacturers will hold up assembly and probably push the avg new vehicle cost from $48k today to well over $50k. Good thing you locked in the price!

My mav is cyber grey metallic, xlt fwd eco, with sprayed in bed liner, tow hitch for light pulling, co pilot 360 and all weather flooring. I got my order number at 907 but my dealership said i was one of six and they'll send me more information on in if it goes into manufacturing after 10/17/23

Your dealer only having 6 orders is such a short line. Much better than being order 60 at a bigger dealer. I just hope the strike does not stop Mav production due to US made parts not being available. Good luck Dale!

Nice Jamie! I am one if the few in the country that owns one of each so I know too much. The word for hybrid: Practical. The word for turbo AWD 4k: FUN! It costs about $11 more per tank for the extra 2.7 gallons the EcoBoost holds. You will get to so many more places. I am excited for you! Oh and to get rid of the odd brown and blue interior, the black app pack looks much better. Welcome! I hope I earn your sub and referrals.

If I was to buy a New Maverick 2024... it would be a Tremor.....I think but you can't get the tow pak on it? So I would buy just what I bought a lariat FX4... you can add your own options. I would also change the color that I have adored for years Oxford white... to another color. I have had 5 white vehicles. Just getting to old to keep the tar off them. Opt for a darker color color but NOT black....I had one of those... never again.

Yes the T 's suspension cannot handle the extra towing, but it can still handle 2,000 lbs. I can see white being hard to keep white. And black shows streaks. Carb Gray in this thumbnail is not boring gray like the name sounds. It is actually a camelion color that changes when the metal flakes reflect different light. And it does not show much dirt, tar, or streaks. Great input Max! I hope you share my channel with anyone you think should look at the Mav.

Yes Michael, the Mav price is higher but still much less than the avg cost of a new vehicle at over $48k. Waiting to see what Toyota or Subaru release makes sense. I expect there will be 2-3 more choices next year.

Hi Phillip, no worries, disagreeing is what makes this country great. My message is if someone plans on upgrading an XLT, $3400 difference to buy a Lariat is much cheaper than trying to upgrade the XLT stereo with only 25 watt speakers, adaptive cruise, Synch 3, and the 15 other Lariat specific items you get. The Lariat ends up costing less than $200 per upgrade.

Of course you can disagree Justin. Some people pay a $5k markup and get zero extra. At $3400 extra for a Lariat, getting 18 extra features like push button start, B&O sound, built in navigation, big dashboard, adaptive cruise, dual zone air, etc. makes each upgrade only less than $200.
