The biggest problem for the Chevy is that it’s not a Raptor. Performance wins.

I have an AT4X. It just makes more sense for what I wanted. I was sick of the mom mobile/grocery getter SUVs and I live in the woods on a dirt road, the interior looks and feels so good.

I want the Ranger Raptor but not paying 72k for it. Waiting to see if they go for MSRP toward the end of the year.

I like the Canyon more than the Raptor, but that grill is so busy in comparison to the Raptor's. Canyon's interior has a retro look to it the way the colors are laid out, the screen isn't at risk of making you look too far downward and too far from the road.

How did you like the ranger raptor compared to your other Raptors? Smaller in size but does it still feel like your driving a bigger truck even though midsize?

RR you get 2 more cylinders, another turbo, lane centering, and a power rear window AT4X you get a HUD, ventilated seats, sunroof, tailgate box, and a 110 AC in the backseat. Available underbody cameras. Can't go wrong either way but I would prefer the Horsepower myself

also why keep the at4x's gauge cluster to minimal, is this not a comparison that shines light on the most features of each unit? constructive criticism, love the videos Ben but prospective buyers want to see the details, even small.

Both great trucks. If I lived out west where I could actually get the truck going fast off-road, the Ranger has an advantage. But east coast, I’d take the Canyon on looks alone.

You never spend the weekend in your truck. How does rear seat fold in raptor? Flat ? Or like canyon?

The Ranger has a real front bumper. The GM product has a bunch of plastic bumper covers. I prefer real bumpers that can be changed for aftermarket options without having to cut up a bunch of painted plastic.

That white in the gmc why it will get so dirty and stained dumb colour for interior

The gm you dont have a light switch have to go to the screen to turn them on or off

Hey Ben what's funny is you said it was quick when you had the Raptor in sport mode but if you would have put it in Baja mode it unlocks the Raptor and removes all restrictions and then hold on it turns into a true weapon and it's amazen Great Video Ben as always

I think I'd save some cashish and get the Colorado Trail Boss for around $40K. A base Raptor would be a good if you can get one with out dealer mark up.

It's crazy that the subaru crosstrek wilderness has 9.3 inches of ground clearance stock with 225/60R17. 9.7 inches if you put 225/65r17.11.7 if you install a 2 inch lift.

Major difference is ford is asking 20k over msrp here in socal and gmc is slightly under msrp

Not a lot of off roading opportunities where I’m at, I’d definitely go with the Canyon if I had to pick one.

They’re both nice trucks in the segment. I’d personally go with the Ranger, then a Chevy ZR2 as my 2nd choice, & GMC AT4X in 3rd. Not a fan of the new Tacoma whatsoever; would resort to going full-size like Ram before looking at a Toyota.

GM looks like they're finally making decent looking interiors. I don't mind the Canyon interior. As least it looks like it was designed within the last decade unlike the larger GM trucks which are stuck in the 90's. The Rangers interior is very nice.

Im wondering if you feel a difference between the leaf springs on the Canyon and the Coil overs on the Ranger ? Specially in terms of ride comfort

Test drove my Ranger Raptor last week but still haven't bought it cause I was curious to see if its worth the extra 10k over the ZR2. I test drove a ZR2 yesterday and let me tell you that it doesn't compare to the Ranger Raptor. The steering wheel was too light, had cheap creaky plastic everywhere, and that dreadful 4 cylinder turbo engine was such a pain to listen to. You also had to really mash on the pedal to get the truck going. The seats were so uncomfortable on the ZR2 and the leather was thinner than the Raptors. Transmission shifting on the gen 2 8-speed ZR2 was clunky compared to the super smooth 10 speed in the Raptor. The Bangen and Olfsen sound system on the Raptor was 100% more crisp and the bass really bumped compared to the ZR2's Bose system. TBH ZR2 felt like a base model Colorado but lifted with big wheels. I was not impressed so I'll be purchasing the Ranger Raptor that was built for me. I did own a 2018 Colorado LT V6 lifted on 33s and that truck was extremely reliable and Id purchase a V6 pre 2023 ZR2 over the new 4 cylinder turbo platform. The only good thing that I have to say about the new gen ZR2s is that the infotainment system was easier to use and resolution quality was better than the Raptors. By the way whoever built my Raptor didn't know how to align the graphics package decals. There was bubbles everywhere!

Should of compared it to the Colorado ZR2 Bison. The AT4x is close to ZR2 but not quite as rugged.

As for your comment about this being the best raptor absalutly! I have had custom f150 raptor and one was a R edition.and a bbuilt bronco raptor with 500 hp tune.ranger by far my favorite!

My goodness that infotainment screen in the Ford is laggy and slow. The software of the instrument cluster looks more premium/upscale in the GMC to me too.

I like the color and exterior style of the Canyon over Ranger. I prefer the seating and more sporty elements of Ranger, but prefer the screen layout of the Canyon. The exhaust note of the Ranger sounds SO much better than the Canyon, lol. Both trucks are equally as capable, other than horsepower.. but when going off-road, HP doesn't mean squat, especially when they have the same amount of torque. If I had to choose, I'd probably take the Canyon AT4X. I would still prefer a Colorado Bison over either one of these trucks.

Whichever one has dual front and rear lockers will be better for offroaders. That simple. My understanding is the ranger raptor doesn't.

The Canyon looks higher off the ground and more off road worthy. They both have the same ground clearance but the GMC looks higher, it may be the running boards on the Ranger if it were mine I may have to remove those. They both have good engines but the Ranger clearly has the edge with its 405 horsepower and v6 engine. Overall though I think the GMC Canyon is a better looking and better capable off roader. They both have fancy shocks for desert high speed running but I think the GMC is the better Crawler which is how most people use their trucks while off roading. Both good trucks but besides the engine I think GM has Ford beat on this one

Colorado ZR2 is my choice. All awesome though.

i only have dumb minor reasons that id go with a canyon... it has ventilated seats.. a winshield HUD and seats.. i hate the white tho, that was a stupid idea. i wish the raptor had ventilated seats that would check everything for me. that v6 sounds niceeee...

Both nice trucks but hands down raptor. It’s in a leage of its own. Everything about it is a step up.

Raptor will hold its value better in 5 years. Also, almost 100 more HP in the Raptor. All these things matter.

Good condition 1st Gen V8 Tundra and put the extra money into upgrades. No it won't have a warranty and will get worse fuel economy, but with proper maintenance will outlast both of these.

Taste is subjective but the wheels and the grille on the GMC are a miss for me. Plus the white around the door panels are gonna be yellowed and dirty just from normal hands touching and oil on skin. Terrible Idea..

I like the exterior of the Canyon much better and the smaller center screen. The white on the interior seems dumb for an off road truck.

I prefer the ranger, the at4 looks like it has a dealer installed lift kit which more often than not is just for show.

Yes, but unfortunately this is the only ford that beats GM trucks. The ranger cannot touch the trail boss at that price. The 3.0 needs to be an option for every trim of ranger. The lariat at minimum.

With the Canyons you have to go AT4, the AT4X is too much for not enough to justify it. The AT4 is plenty for 95% of offroad uses.

GMC is paying Ford dust as has Chevrolet for the past decade with any Raptor model. Y’all want *gm* to chase Ford’s Raptors around the market so bad but they keep showing you they’re uninterested. Ford needs *gm* to be around in order to be great.

I don't clsssify the canyon or the other off roaders as baja trucks because they are not as powerful as the ranger raptor. The raptor on the other hand has gone beyond limits and is the only mid sizer that has gotten a baja edition. I do think the colorado zr2 bison is the closest one to compete but still not a baja truck

Alaska has a 20k markup on ranger raptors... it is f..ng ridiculous. As much as I want one, I will let all the people who enjoy living in major debt buy one first and ill buy the 2025 or 2026 model once the markups are down, otherwise omg... 20 thousand dollars above MSRP that is irrational.

Raptos are made for real off-road chevy doesn't really do those types of vehicles .....mire like everyday driving vehicles in wich case most of us really do

The ranger raptor is all time 4x4 which I’m not a fan of and ford could have done at least a little better with the exterior cosmetics but I’d still take the Raptor over the the at4x because of power and torque perforce, and it’s at least a 6 cylinder.

if both trucks are close and similar, go with the better powerplant, unless you're gunna use it to park at the mall, the GMC is nice, but the raptor is badass, ford performance needs to roll them out with 35's next year, with bfg mud terrain's km3's
