I have no trouble taming my pets I get. friend taught me a little trick I use that seems to get them to the camp faster also. Anywho, my Deathclaw that I've had for 2 years at my forest camp just "died". I know what I did differently. I was trying to get build budget. I removed a set of steps that keep the bees buried at the camp spot. This was my mistake. I go to the same spot every single time (top right of map) I just hop over and over till I get one. I noticed also that my deathclaw stayed at my forest camp all these past 2 years and I had tamed different pet with one of my other camps loaded in and that tamed pet went to the camp loaded in. So I had a sloth at one and deathclaw at other which was cool. This video helps me find some other locations now that my deathclaw RIP wherever you may be. Thanks for the video!

I think this whole thing could be solved by Bethesda's Atom shop.... They could release an option called something like "feeding troughs" which could lock your pet to your camp and make it invulnerable to attacks...

@@WombatGaming I've discussed this very subject with my gamer mates, the pet could easily be a permanent feature too acting as a turret for 8pts of defence I'd happily pay atoms for pet skins and accessories too as I think most people would.

Yao guai are the absolute worst to have in your camp-they attack your shit and make the most harrowing sounds 😂 props on the wolf tho, I’m definitely gonna check that place out now!

That spot by the rail station for the death claw, ive had my base next to that spot you seen him at and for a year ive never seen one there and i have looked.

@WombatGaming I finally found a mega sloth up the road and under the bridge from big b's rest stop, sent it to my camp, unfortunately on the other side of the map, I waited as long as I could for him, but had to go to work.. so I doubt he'll be there when I log back in 🥲

So.. a status report ca. 20 pets later. Avoid building foundations at stone/rock ground at all costs, pets can spawn between the foundation, rock and ground layers and get killed! it seems the camp location is critical for pet survival. have my second mirelurk king living next to a flat railway station works for me.

how many world hops does this usually take? ive been hopping for like 2 hours and only seen one tameable creature. is that normal or am i doing something wrong XD nice vid btw!

Its very random I'm afraid, I was on today and looking again as my wolf (really loved that wolf lol) is no where to be found and the first jump I found a Deathclaw. But other times its taken hours.

Tons of pet spots but got to check lots of them most are a pet wont want tho i find sloths take off, need a big open place had a 2 year old dc die from mutants, turrets not shooting lol still got a almost 3 year old dc on a lower lv

I've hopped the same spot for 2 hours personally. It takes that long sometimes. For me, sticking with on spot till I get it works for me but for you it might be something else.

Sometimes you can have a really bad run and then other times I will see 2 or 3 in one session. Keep trying

Just tamed a Deathclaw today with the help of your video! Quick question, do I have to have the tamable perk card always active to keep it at my camp? And how long will the pet last at the camp for?

There is no need to keep the card, only use it if you lose him and need to find a new pet.

down the road from foundation near y shaped cross roads, up road from dent, sons,near the bee on map, near big bs reststop, tower near foundation has a junk pile forget name lol but tho have always been my lucky pet spots

Albinos can not be tamed but there is a chance your death claw will spawn in as one

Doesn’t make sense. How am I supposed to find a pet lower level than mine when literally every npc that spawns in matches my rank? Been hopping servers for 4 days straight trying to find a deathclaw with a “lower level than me” Bethesda just doesn’t value the time of their gamers.

It can take time to find them, they are some of the rarest in the game, there are lot of players around at the moment this will impact you finding them as well.

You cant get the cat as a pet, only if you build your base over the location for them

Sometimes the tame sign will not show not sure why, so long as your in a spawn area from the tame you should be find. Not all animals can be tamed on the map, good luck

The wolf in my video never made it home. I'm very sad about that one. For some reason, Sloths and Deathclaws are more likely to make it home in my experience, Keep trying

Ive run this route for 3 hours and I havent seen a single animal to tame. Im starting to see why not many people actually have pets. I got robbed by a Mr.Handy 10 times though

They are hard to get ATM so many people playing the game, if they went through before you there would be noting to find. Try jumping servers until you find a newer one with less people

Does server hopping help or the spawn rates are tied to your character per spot?

Yes, jump servers. If you can't find one, they will stay at the camp you have activated at the time of capture

I spent over an hour server hopping at the first two spawns and only a got a cat... Litterally nothing else

It can take a while to find these guys, with other players in game who may have been through the same area. Its a challenge, you will find one if you keep looking

At what level can you tame rank 2 and 3 creatures? Cause it says they have to be below half of your lvl but their lvl scale with your lvl so I don’t understand.

I literally go to a random place where random events are happening for my luck a deathclaw spawned there but for my no luck i can't tame it for some reason and yes he has the same lvl as me not higher also i cant even make him chill gg i guess i wasted cards and time

Only certain animal spawns can be tamed. Animals that spawn from normal locations cannot be tamed. Like the deathclaws on deathclaw island. That’s why these videos hardly ever have spawns for specific animals, because the tamable animal that spawns will be somewhat random, if one spawns at all.

I can only see pacify option not the tame. I have been many locations, I can pacify them but never seen tame.

As long as it's a single animal, it should be ok in most cases. There are events with Deathclaws, wolves, and other animals that can't be tamed. What weapon are you using? I've found my fixer with no scope works well. It can take time to find the pets.

I always get TAME I noticed you got a pacify option and a tame option for the one pet. Why don't I ever see Pacify and why would I want to pacify vs tame anyways?

Tame is only for animals that are tameable. The other option I can pacify while out in wasteland i want to. But usually, I just shoot them anyway.

If your pacifying then they are normal wild creatures, if the taming option comes up them they are the ones you want

on a sidenote, sadly pets will be killed by travelling merchants so I suggest people really not bother unless you hate yourself and want to see animals killed in your camp

@@WombatGaming now a proud companion of a mirelurk king! living on a boat and fenced in the little land and it seems to work great. important to keep the area around the CAMP unit clean, maby even watch the pet so you can plug holes in fence/barricades!

It can be that someone else might have been through there before you, try jumping to a new server I found that helped as well sometimes

How are the enemies friendly towards you and not attacking you? I have my card level three and have found death claws, snallygasters, wolves etc. They always spawn in with a red bar and are immediately hostile which stops the tame button from appearing. I can pacify them and make them friendly, but then I can’t tame them

Do you have the card equipped? If you do not all enemies will work all of the time. you just have to keep trying. It's very hit and miss

As long as you have the right card, and a non scoped gun should should be good. There are animals that can't be tamed. What was the animal you were trying to tame?

@@WombatGamingThere are many people who experience the same thing and they cannot tame it and if I had the cards equipped, I tried to tame a deathclaw, I have seen that there are people who have it tamed in their camp and it seems strange to me that i cannot do it

I came across a Deathclaw the other day in one of those spots in this video, and I couldn't tame it. I think that there are some animals that just won't be ambled to be tamed. I kept looking, and after a number of server jumps and time, I did find a tameable one. Keep trying

Only in these locations will it work. If you see a wolf in a different area, it will attack you.

@@WombatGaming I did go check put the wiki page and they have a picture of the map with all locations of the tame animal spawns. I only found one video on youtube actaully showing while trying to find the pets. There will be a npc there at the spawn location first after you talk to them they will leave and the next thing to spawn there will be either a tamable pet or nothing or a enemy

I am SO fucking tired of the taming system being so undercooked, my pet randomly dies or despawns and I have to waste hours upon hours because bethesda cant be fucking bothered to fix this, that and they release a mediocre update and delete the best spot to do this garbage(sacramental glade) for a trash tier event
