Buffalo is by far the most active and underrated family in America right now. Philadelphia is the most overrated family in the country. Merlino is such a polarizing character that ppl assume they’re making guys left and right and wield all this power. On the contrary- he has so much spotlight on him that he has to be the most careful. One wrong move and he’s done. They’ve been on him for years and would like nothing more than to pin one of a handful of unsolved murders to his name. He wouldn’t be stepping out into podcasting if the family was printing money. He’s a practical guy and can see the writing on the wall. Let me parlay this underworld fame into something legitimate before it’s too late. His closest guys are locked up, retired or under heavy LE scrutiny and have been for years. If the family was such a powerhouse, the last thing he’d do is force it under an even greater microscope.
