I like the emphasis on affordable housing for Washington City at the end of this speech. What I'm hoping is that we can continue to stay in the home we bought at the top of the Green Springs neighborhood. We bought it BECAUSE we love the quiet, and the access to the amazing desert reserve behind us. If the proposed highway is built in our backyard it will change all that. What is the relationship between builders and government civic planners? I'm aware the highway topic has now blown up into a huge issue involving even the federal government, but I'm wondering where our Washington City officials stand on this? Are they are in the pocket of the builders who want to develop Solente and other planned communities near us? I'm sure the highway is a big selling point to those future neighborhoods here, but it's obvious the desires of those who already live in this area seem to not be considered.
