Kris and Aden Keefer ride the 2024 KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition out at Glen Helen Raceway and provide their thoughts on the machine. This Factory Edition bike has updated suspension, frame, and wheels, a skid plate, split triple clamps, a Selle Dalla Valle seat, orange hubs and sprocket, and more. So, how does this updated machine compare to the current Japanese 250F models? Aden Keefer compares his 2024 Kawasaki KX250 to the Factory Edition KTM 250 SX-F. Then, the duo compares the all-new connectivity app that KTM introduced in order to help riders easily adjust settings while on the go at the track.

Keefer great you answered me question about the engine mounts!can the smaller linkage bolts be fitted 23/24 frames also I’m trying to add comfort to my 23 350 husky I already have cone valves and cut down my stock bars but the thing is a work out to push on I’m relatively small and light for modern mx size goes. I’m kinda stuck as I love 350 motors i love using the torque to jump vs 250s Have they fixed chain binding issue?

As a smaller guy myself, on my 21 250sxf. I have issues with comfort on the bike. It’s just so rough. The harder I push, the worse the bike reacts. The stock shock is wayyyyy too busy.

Chain on 23+ don't bind at 65-70mms of slack as Keefer has a video on here himself. I've tested myself aswell

I remember when i was 145 lbs, riding the earlier 250Fs, my mechanic didn’t like doing my suspension. They always had to do custom valving, internal preload and always had to go down a spring rate. I was a C knocking on B level rider at my best.

My dream bike right there. Do they usually apply the factory edition changes to standard 350 model the following year as well? I'm a light weight vet and keep flip flopping between getting another 250 or moving up to the 350 platform.

I am confused. Many reviewers say the alu frames (japanese bikes) are stiffer than steel frames (austrian bikes). Keefers say the alu frames are more compliant than steel. Can anyone clarify?

@@HarryVines-zw2tmhaving owned multiples of both. The KTMs are generally better in every way, though I do love the yammys. KTM is a lot more refined imo.

@@genefuzer4287 ive owned 1 yamaha and 2 ktms and the yamaha is better in every way better suspension power build quality reliability better technology the only thing ktm has over yamaha is hp on the dyno which doesnt matter because watch just about any shootout they will say the yamaha is far more powerful

@@HarryVines-zw2tm 🤷🏻‍♂️ rider preference then I guess. I currently have a YZ 125 and like it, had 2 YZ 250’s, a yzf250 and ridden a few of the latest models of my mates and at the track, and I’ve owned a few SX’s, CR’s, CRF 250 2018, and have a 2020 sxf 250 factory, and I can say for me it’s hands down the best bike I’ve ridden and owned. I think the ergos on the KTM are far better, power delivery all over and smoothness of power is much much more refined and better than any YZ/YZF I’ve rode or owned, I also seem to fatigue far easier on a YZF. Guess it’s all rider preference but I prefer the KTMs in every way, I’d swap nothing on it for a Yamaha aside maybe the tuning app but an equally as good one is coming on the 2024.5/2025’s so I’ll see how that is.

Kawasaki used to be bottom to mid, KTM was a mid and up.

KT MS would be the most reliable bike on the market if it weren't for Yamaha Honda Suzuki and Kawasaki.

@@OGLD youre kidding yourself. Clutch master cylinder 800 miles, and again at 2,000 miles. Starter bendix sheared in half and 8 hours. The list goes on. Ktm tears. Nice that theyve stopped aftermarket companies from making plastics. That should be fun.

Listen to Keefer's podcast with engine builder and owner of xpr from last week, says Austrian bikes are the most reliable. Yamahas are the least currently
