What happens when a world-champion motocross rider travels across the globe to take on a totally new discipline of racing, testing themselves against a stacked lineup of champions? The Supercross world found out when Jorge Prado, the 2023 MXGP World Champ, traded the outdoor tracks of the global MXGP Championship for the bright lights of American stadiums.
Jorge Prado's journey to the United States to try his hand in the AMA Supercross Championship was more than just a leap into the unknown; it was a quest to test his skills against a new frontier of competition and live out a lifelong dream. The reigning 2023 MXGP World Champion was after fresh challenges, and the American SX tracks beckoned with the promise of fierce rivalries, raucous crowds and unforgiving terrain.
Prado has been riding since he could walk and has always dreamed of racing in America, watching Supercross in his early years in Spain. Despite the challenges involved in transitioning from MXGP to Supercross - and the risk of injury in a crucial period before his 2024 MXGP title defense - Jorge, his team, and family were all in for this new adventure.
In January, 23-year-old Prado entered a highly competitive field in the 450SX class and experienced the ups and downs of the sport in a rapidly condensed time. From qualifying for the Main event in all four races, to facing tumultuous race conditions in back-to-back mud races in San Francisco and San Diego unlike much the sport has seen before, to his first Triple crown, winning a heat race and more.
Go behind the scenes with an all-access look as Jorge Prado chases his Supercross dream in Jorge Prado: Under the Lights.

This kid has earned every fans respect top 10 almost every race against this field in your first sx races ever is insane. Hopefully we see him next year plus his attitude is wicket. Just the clip I seen talking about when he was getting lapped he made sure to give the leader way more then enough room because he knows how it feels.

Second that! Videos like this is so great for the sport. And for the marketing side, it's the personalities that is being exposed that sell in my opinion. Like Roczen, the stories put together in videos about him is insanely good, if i had a business inside the sport i'd do anything to ink my business name to the Roczen brand. So basicly..keep these videos coming please 😄😃

I don’t know if any American factory rider has ever begged to do one more race like that. And his camp is so supportive of his results where other riders do realize a 7th isn’t that bad. I didn’t realize he was only 23. I think in two years he’s gonna cause to some problems for these guys. If I was ktm group I would be looking to put him to on Husky.

Dude's balls are almost as big as Macadoos. 2 months before starting his title defense. It's actually pretty stupid to do that if you think about it. But awesome. And now that he didn't get hurt I think it's going to benefit him in MXGP. Making passes has been one of his only weak points. SX should have definitely helped with that.

@BestoftheWest Don't really see what it proves anyways, but yes Jorge being on a 450 for an entire MXGP season and even before the season would make him alot comfortable on a 450 than just being on one since the off season last year. Unless it matters to you because you like Deegan so you compare everything and everyone to Hunter for some reason.

@@Sprocket74 I wasn’t talking about deegan. He’s in the 250 class. I’m talking 450s. I merely stated that prado was doing better than hunter Lawrence until he left. How is that remotely a controversial statement? It’s a fact.
