heh, that guy at the end was committed. have you seen the reports of some of those 300s (maybe the sxs) grenading under prolonged periods of hi-revs? Apparently the cylinder is slightly too long and connects with the rod.

I read a report which said it’s a problem with piston skirt being too long and contacting the rod. But if that was the case it would contact all the time and fail quickly, so am not sure about whether that’s really the problem. The part number for the 2024 piston and crank is the same as previous TPI models so would expect to see a lot of failures in those too

Really interested in your 9mm master swap. Been thinking about trying that too. Hope you did a video on that swap!

I’ve done it to my 21’ 300 TPI. It’s totally worth it and all the factory guys do it as well. If you think your pull is too heavy and can’t get it where ya want with the Belleville,it’s totally worth the money.

@@nevadahardenduro or Mark, did either of you have trouble with some creeping even with the lever pulled all the way in. Got mine and installed it, bled it multiple times. Feels good but still has quite a bit of creep with the lever pulled all the way in. Did you make any Belleville adjustment for the 9mm master. Thanks for any help.

How do you feel about the 2017 300 with the benefit of having ridden the '24 bike ? I think I heard you say it was still powerful, but bottom end, smoothness ? I've only been able to ride a '14 250 and '19 300. '17 seems like the peak of carbed engine development?

Here in Japan 2017 was the last year of the KTM carb 2 strokes. It was also the first year of the engine balancer, which works very well, resulting in a very smooth, vibration free engine feel. Stock the 2017 2 stroke models had a Mikuni carb with a horrendous setting and leaking block gasket. This resulted in very poor performance stock. In my 2017 I have a Keihin PWK 38 with STIC metering block which works great. Strong, responsive power from bottom to top. The stock suspension on the 2017 leaves a lot to be desired, being set too soft and underdamped. The fork blows through the travel too easily resulting in a harsh, unstable feeling. Dal Soggio XPOne kit works well to address this. Personally I’m using the Dal Soggio Sphere closed cartridge kit which is very good.
