The 2024 GX is all-new and Lexus has dropped the v8 for a twin-turbo v6 that brings over 40 hp more and 150 lb-ft of torque more. The boxy GX gets increased towing, better tech and 3 different chassises for off-roading.

Needs more wood, aluminum, carbon fiber or something. Cabin looks sterile like a Toyota rather than a Lexus. Take a cue from Genesis or Mazda and use synthetic leather or something to class it up a bit.

I bought the one of the last gx 460 luxury’s with the off road package for 68k. Has the wood, leather, and the off-road goodies. V8 for me for attest 15 years

Great review Anthony! I did not notice the sticker price and had to go back and I was really surprised at how relatively low it was considering all that you get with this SUV. Love the looks and it really is so well equipped. Happy Friday eve to you and hoping that you are doing so great!

They are priced well and it’s a great suv. Lexus should’ve came out a year ago with it when I was in the market for an suv but it probably would’ve been too much vehicle for the family 😁. Happy Friday eve James 👍

It might be priced well for what it is, but it’s priced too high for most people today. I enjoy the reviews, appreciate the legroom info as a fellow well over 6 footer too many average dudes never think about leg room. 👍🏻

I agree the pricing for vehicles are a lot, that's why I'm keeping my vehicles for a while and for us tall people it's even harder to buy specially how most companies take legroom away from the front or the seat itself is to short.

Good review. Lexus got it right with this one. I haven’t heard anyone getting anywhere near 21mpg though. 14.5-15 seems to be the norm for everyday driving which is disappointing. Hopefully the hybrid will debut later this year or as a ‘25 option and get better gas mileage.

They did a great job with the refresh bring the old school style. The MPG’s I go by what the company says but your spot on these suvs are not gas friendly 👍

What are your thoughts on some of the engine issues they appear to be having with the 3.4 L turbo charged six?

It’s not as bullet proof as the v8 but most buyers will trade or upgrade around 100-125k which you should be fine for that. Unfortunately once you get 150-200k the real reliable changes. I wouldn’t buy the first year of any refresh as it’s always good to let them work out the problems but if you do buy the warranty will take care of it.

My thought is I'd like to get the overtrail plus with third row and captains chairs .. they should permit that .. or the luxury with 20 inch wheels .. don't understand having to get 22's they ride worse than 20's or 18's

1 million percent agree. I’m also told “in the South the Premium will not come with 2nd row captains even though that’s what the website says.” How dumb? So simple give me 2nd row captains, 3rd row AND lockers. Differentiating the vehicle this way makes NO SENSE. unfortunately I can’t order what I want I’m not getting on the wait list. Not to mention the bearing issues on this motor.

The biggest problem is there not making enough. All being sold belong before they get to the dealership. Our list is long. Reality and YT are very different.

I don't kow what you mean by Rality? Nothing is a lie or a dream and I'm sure you can buy one if you want but you might have to go to different dealerships or just order it online. I drove over a thousand miles to buy my suv but I understated some may not do this 👍

I purchased one of the last 23 GX 460 💙 the V8. Love the redesign of the 550, but can’t except the V6 turbo engine.

You can but the clearance is 8.66 inch, I would lift it and consider a different wheel size but it is still capable.

I own the GX 460 and recently test drove the GX 550. I was not at all impressed with the interior; it felt like a Toyota to me, akin to a Capstone Landcruiser at best, in my opinion.

Love Toyota/Lexus, but you can't even sell that truck to Carvana or CarMax, they wont take any Toyota/ Lexus V6 turbo for 2024. They're shunned trucks for ever. Buy an old model GX 460!

The new GX is not better than the Defender off road it has proven on several test. Definitely not a better on road drive. I'm not a GX hater I owned a 2020 and was very happy with it. I now own a 2024 Defender and it just feels and drives more eloquently imo.
