People are sleeping on Purdue, its pretty funny. U Conn hasn't played anyone relative to Purdue, especially in the tournament. Sure U Conn beat IL. Purdue beat them twice, the 2nd time at IL on senior day. Purdue is something like 13-0 against ranked teams this year. Edey also has a 7'2" guy to practice against every day.

If the 7.2 a great player? I have no disrespect for Perdue but UConn is a very balanced team. My only concern for UConn is getting into foul trouble early. If we stay out of foul trouble I like UConn’s chances. It should be a very good game. I would like to see us punch the tempo and make your big man have to run. No half court basketball. Anything can happen in one game.

So much for disrespecting a team that is actually a complete team. The Big East is one of the best conferences in college basketball. We only got three teams in and they all did well. None of them got beat by a 16 seed.

Perdue fans take it easy. They are just sports talk show hosts. As a UConn fan yes I think they take care of business because I think UConn is a more complete team. That said Perdue is a good team with a great player. My concern for UConn is foul trouble. If you play like you did against NCS you’re in trouble. If we get in foul trouble we will be in trouble but we are a deep team and can run up the score in a blink of an eye. Talk is talk and games are settled on the court. It should be a very good game.

Wrong. UCONN crushed Purdue in every aspect of the game except Edey. One man doesn’t make a team, and we saw that tonight. UCONN cruised to one of their easiest victories all year in the 2nd half there.

@@ryand667You’re clueless and I’ll prove it: UCONN went 6 - 22 from 3 and could have gone 1 - 22 from 3 and still won the game (they won by 15 and just let Purdue score twice at the end). They won by wearing out Purdue and getting scoring (mostly 2’s) from the entire team, not just one man, and then they shut down almost everyone on Purdue except for Edey offensively and guarded Purdue so they couldn’t even attempt a 3 very often,

@xxyyzz8464 I don't see much difference there. UConn went to the perimetre, because their big man option was more limited than usual. And Purdue anticipated that and defended the 3 well. But when you do that, the floor becomes more open.

@@ryand667 Again, you’re just wrong and the hard facts say so: UCONN had more points in the paint than Purdue, 44 to 40, did not shy away from the paint any more than many of Purdue’s smaller players did when they sensed Clingan and Edey wasn’t there to dish off to, and UCONN would have won this game without ever even attempting a 3 given they outscored them in the paint and only needed less than 10 mid range jumpers on top of their pts in the paint to easily win.

That was almost exactly correct. UCONN won easily by 15 and was up 19, just didn’t want to foul and let clock run off so gave up 2 baskets uncontested to Purdue at end. Lol

@@foxtailmedia8189 Clingan had 11 pts. and 5 rebounds as a Sophomore here. His average all season is 13 pts and 7 rebounds, so Edey, as a Senior, didn’t make him look stupid. He barely kept him from his normal average. Clingan is superior to where Edey was when Edey was a Senior, and that is one reason he is projected to get picked in the NBA draft 20 spots higher than Edey.

I don’t know who this Avery guy is but he talks like he knows everything. I don’t know how long he has been an analyst but it will be over after tonight. Completely counting out Purdue, and being ignorant at it. We are a one seed for a reason. We have the best player in college basketball on our team. We have incredible defense and 3 point shooting. We have a team that lost early last year. We are hungry. The narrative for the game is UCONN repeating but no one has noticed the fact that when Florida won back-to-back they had the exact same starting 5!!! Purdue is more hungry. And I can tell you that the Purdue fan ratio vs UConn at Arizona is 100:1. Purdue is coming out on top. Dan will be coaching at Kentucky next week. That’s my take. Goodnight. And F Avery.

Even though UCONN could not stop Edey, Purdue never had a chance and was embarrassed in the 2nd half. UCONN is just in a different class. They would sweep Purdue 4 - 0 in a 7 game series and win by double digits every time, demoralizing them. Be glad they only had to suffer one loss if you’re a Boilermaker fan.
