I’m glad someone else in the comments brought up 1990-91 UNLV. That team didn’t win two in a row but came close with Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, and Greg Anthony. They dominated most games. This UConn team might be better just by having won consecutive titles and dominating teams every step of the way.

The way i compare eras is by judging teams by how much better they were than the best teams in their era. Uconn is the most dominant team ive ever seen since the 1990 UNLV team. Im not sure but i do know if you look at eras over even a 25 year span this is the best team of the last 25 years. The offense is the best offense ive seen on the college level and the defense is as good as some of the best theres been.

Funny because people said UConn got placed in the hardest region they have seen before the tournament started, also the same people that don’t want to admit Purdue had easiest bracket and run to the championship

I'm glad Coach hurly and a few analysts are now saying past 30 years instead of 25 for UConn. You have to include Nit championship, sweet 16s etc before they got their first chip. Thas when it actually started.

@@darrelqifyuhhh the NIT used to be the bigger tournament and even when the NCAA tourney became the thing, the NIT was still a tournament that invited teams took seriously and produced great games. It's insane to me that we now see teams declining the chance to go out there and play some more games when they don't make the big dance and get the NIT invite

Purdue had the best player in Edey, but Uconn had the next 5 to 7 players, period.

Purdue's future in terms of questioning athleticism...Braden Smith is a top 5 to 3 PG in college basketball, already. Big Dog's 6'-4" combo guard son is coming next year, Kanon Catchings is a uber-athletic and skilled 6'-9" SF/wing, Miles Colvin 6'-5" guard, Cam Heide 6'-6" super athletic 3 or 4 spot. Purdue will be damn good again soon.

As a Purdue fan and current student this shit hurt so much man. Respect to the players but I’ve never see a coach complain more than Dan Hurley. We really failed edey in the natty with the defense outside the arc and our three point shooting

Purdue needs to focus on their own performance more than what the opposing coach is doing. Sorry but self reflection after a double digit loss in a national championship requires more fingers pointing internally than what is happening on the opposing bench.

With all due respect there was a stretch of 4 min where I watched 3 bullshit calls against UConn in a row. Hell I was flipping out watching it unfold can't blame the coach. That's when he started losing it for the rest of the game.

Purdue ass 🗑🗑🗑🗑🗑🗑🗑🚮🚮🚮🚮🚮🚮 they pushed Purdue through all year they don't call shit on Eddy I knew they were trash one demisnoal throw the ball in teams double throw it out for a 3 they coach is ass he couldn't do nothing else run any plays or nothing.😂😂 who does that he'll I would have at least gone small to try that to get my shooters going to try and run something. I said it tho whats go happen when you don't have to double him..Purdue would be finished he is ass .he has only been playing ball for 3 years. You put all that on his back because he's big and strong 😂😂😂😂

Edey was awesome all year and I’ll miss watching this Purdue team play. They beat everyone basically, and within an outstanding schedule, except for UConn. Just don’t make it sound like it was some fluke in saying they failed Edey. They were great college players going up against NBA level ones. They had a bad game, but UConn caused a lot of that and I’m not sure Purdue would even win a game in a best of 7 series. It sounds nuts, but you’d probably need a Kentucky on top of their game, with NBA type talent, to have had any chance of knocking off UConn in this tournament.

Stats versus results is crazy. Picking the best with numbers? Why play the NCAAs then. Somebody who loses in the NCAAs is not the best.

Draymond green beat UConn in the final 4. So that's a lie about being undefeated in the final 4. Same year UNC beat sparty in Detroit

Yea, undefeated in title games, 1 loss in FF to Mich St in a "home game" for Sparty. I think UConn beats Mich St with Dyson, their best offensive player, healthy and in the lineup, but don't think anyone was beating that absolutely loaded UNC team with a super motivated Psycho T

What I find interesting is both the men's and women's championships were decided by two teams that played defense It's that simple! We shall take the women's game first. The USC girls gave Caitlin Clarke looks at mid-range and short jumpers, but try like heck to get a look for a three? Nada! Two of mine don't cut it. Bottom line, Caitlin has her game, 28 points in the first quarter on her way to 35 points? Ahh, but what happened to the other Lady Hawkeyes? Steulkey shined, but the rest of the team was almost invisible Next, the men. Zach did his best, 37, as one would have expected, but, that was 72% of the Boilermakers' 60 total points! Again, I ask, where was the rest of the team? The Huskies played.......a damn good defensive strategy.
