POV footage of the 63rd annual Cherry Creek Hare and Hound National race. Two different loops, 97 miles total. This race will test your physical fitness and endurance. The course is mostly sand, with some epic single track. Lots of whoops, miles of them. Unfortunately I was only able to film about half the race. My battery died and my spares were dead because of the cold weather. I ended up hitting the eject button at mile 85, which kept me down for awhile. I placed 18th in my class, which Could've been a lot better, but I'm glad I could get up and finish strong. Arm pump was an issue about 20 minutes into the race, and I struggled with it for another 20 minutes. Once it went away I was able to make up a lot of ground. Thanks for watching.

Jesus wept.....That is one of the very very best on bike video captures I have ever seen. What an incredible track...a mix between Baja and the Finke Desert race in Aus. Well done you. The sound of the big banger 4 strokes reminded me of the original Ricky Carmichael games on Play station, pure sound. Thanks Phil! Such an epic course, I wish I could’ve been able to record loop 2 up in the mountains! The terrain here in Utah is a blast to ride. This sport is amazing, Nothing else I’d rather do than compete against these guys. Great people in the racing community. Thanks for your comment! The last time I did this race, I was having so much fun for the first 10-12 miles in the sand that I forgot to save energy for the rest of the race - I was smoked pretty bad, and on a borrowed bike. Super fun race though, and the conditions looked pretty epic. Thanks for sharing, glad you're safe!

Man that’s too relatable… I was pretty tired by mile 45 and completely spent at the end of loop 1. Had to dig deep to finish this one! The course was awesome, and the dirt was as good as it gets. Thanks for watching 🤙

@eastman922 it was eventful 😆. I went down pretty hard on the backside of a dune not far from where Kole had broke down. One of my boys ran out of fuel about 5-10 miles from the fuel stop, so when I caught up we rode doubles for until we could get him a ride to get his bike filled up. It was fun as hell though.

@@panic-revv85 man that dune section was no joke. Hopefully you’re not too banged up. Crazy timing running out of fuel, so close! I’ve been there. Those sections winding through the trees on loop 2 were so sick

Thanks! Yes most of it is BLM land, we did enter the Little Sahara Recreation area which is a state park, but man you could ride for days out there. The course was awesome besides the 12 miles of sand whoops at the end 😅 luckily my camera died before you could hear me curse those things

Ever have any issues with the bike bogging down loosing power and stop running?

Not on this machine, I did install a clutch weight to help with low rpm flame outs.

@@eastman922 I have 7hrs on a 24 350 Xcf factory edition and what I asked happened. Since then I changed the fuel filter and now seems to run fine.

@@Kolsch221 that’s an interesting fix, cool that it worked. Probably some kind of blockage. Does yours have the power tuner app? Maybe there’s a weird map setting

Where did y’all start from!? I always see pink markers after the race but don’t know where the starts happen

Not too far from the Weiss highway, the start isn’t anything special, just a normal piece of desert that quickly transitioned into a trail. Couldn’t tell you exactly where it is. If you’re able to follow the course at all it was pretty awesome

@@eastman922 how deep into cherry creek? Was it before the split off? Or did you end up splitting left on the dirt road to go deep toward all the sand?

@@drumcdaniel1968 not sure if it’s still on the website, but NHHA had directions to get there posted. Dude you should sign up for the Jericho race coming up on the 20th, it’ll be very similar to this one last weekend.
