Sir. thanks for the detailed review. I love my 2020 Metanium on Ceramics ball bearings. I'm really looking forward to the comparisons between the two ladies on the water. And yes that is true as some say it is the best KZfaq channel for fishing enthusiasts.

did the ceramic ball bearings improve anything? From the test I did, theres really no need to upgrade bearings on shimanos higher end reels

Tested mine out yesterday and I am thoroughly impressed. We had 20-30MPH winds and I was casting directly into the wind and had zero backlashes. Night and day difference between Curado DC and Mentanium DC. My new favorite real!

Got mine last wk, haven’t tested it yet. As of now it looks bad azz on my NRX+ sitting on my rod rack. I got a great feeling about it, that I ordered another XG last night. I actually prefer the gloss black look of it over the ‘24 Steez I recently ordered

Just a curious inquiry. I have the regular Metanium. On cold winter days, after many hours of casting with cold hands and wet fingers, do other anglers rub their casting hand thumb raw from casting by pressing the Metanium rubberized thumb bar? I have noticed this. After several hours of casting, you’re ready to find another reel to use. I wished the thumb bar was smooth without a rubber mat. But still these Metaniums are excellent reels. Thanks for the video.

I will do a comparison vs the much cheaper slx dc xt sometime. but if price is your concern get the slx dc xt, they are a steal at the moment

Price is not the issue. I just seem to cast further with my none dc reels. Plus I get 80% of my reels from digitaka.

Could you compare Calcutta Conquest 100DC and Metanium 24DC? I'm trying to understand what will be best to use with weights 5-25gramm lead with silicone fish (Jigrig, caroline, etc.)

i have a curado dc reel. maybe i'm wrong, but i don't think the dc actually does anything (on my reel) other than make a cool noise. i still need to use my thumb skills. it doesn't SEEM to cast any better or worse than my other reels. i just wonder if other people have the same experience, or is there something wrong with mine? or maybe there's something i'm doing wrong?

I have 2 of the ‘24 Metaniums but haven’t tested them yet. My ‘20 Metanium did outcast the ‘15 Metanium DC very noticeable & I ended up selling it.

I have 2 Curado DC reels and I feel exactly the same way. I actually get far more backlashes on the Curado DC’s than my other reels as well. I have them lined up with Tatsu fluro line and have been told that the Curado DC performs much better with braid. Now the new Mentanium DC is amazing. I did line it up with Suffix 131 braid and it cast great. I had zero backlashes in strong winds too on medium braking which I found pretty impressive. I tested the reel out using the Jackhammer chatterbait .

Daiwa Paintjob is Same AS Bad. Ordered 2 daiwa steez CT and both Had painting flaws 😢

I think this will be a great reel especially that it also has the 5 step break intensity adjuster. Got to get one. Tried a zillion but feels like an AliExpress reel compared with the 22 Metanium.

Post loongze DC era, IMZ and DC seem outdated unless they learn from the chinese. Simply put every DC product has its limited range of settings, unlike LZ. Also, IMZ is too troublesome that requires charging. YMMV .

Now it making me think really hard about buying one now I thought it would look good I just buy the $479.88daiwa steez sv tw 100xh it looks better than the digitaka Japan $360.09 metanuim dc it suck I was going to buy two like I said last time digitaka has it for sale $360.09 not over $500 I like the gun metal color I got to think on this 😢😢😢

Came here to see the reel, I have a few curado DCs, but what in the world is that intro? Philosophers got their ideas from "Daemons"? And to claim that famous historical philosophers were occultists? Is there anything to prove that? Socrates followed the Athenian gods, which is not of the occult, being that it was the dominant religion of his peers, and predates our definition of "occult". Many other ancient philosophers were atheist, or followed many other common religions of the time. What is the point you're trying to make? That classical philosophy is antithetical to Christianity? There's not really an argument there, as they predate christianity. I'm just so curious as to how you think philosophy is bad, and what that has to do with religion? In my opinion, religion and philosophy are similar, but not mutually exclusive.

Research how Plato who was a student of Socrates got his information. How he got is information of "Atlantis". He readily admits he gets his ideas from entities. That is done through occult meas. All the technology you see was obtained through occult means by the way. Philosophy predates Christianity... So what? Alot of false religions predate the coming and birth, death, and resurrection of Yahusha(Jesus). But Yahusha (known as the Word of the Lord in the Old Testament) predates EVERYTHING. Read the 1st book of Enoch to learn the origins of the occult. Philosophy is usually always some attempt to indirectly rationalize not following YHWH's law. And following Jesus is not religion, its relationship with him.

@@THEREELTEST no one is dogmatic about Plato. No one believes everything those philosophers said was fact. Their main draw is that they are the earliest examples of philosophy, not that their philosophies are objectively true. Things written thousands of years ago must be viewed as unreliable, as they are pretty much never first hand accounts. That goes for religious texts and philosophical texts. Technology is obtained through occult means? Can you elaborate on that? Did the engineers at Shimano do a séance to make this reel? What do you mean by occult?

@@THEREELTEST I have absolutely nothing against religion or religious people, or “followers of Christ” if the word “religion” is distasteful to you, but I definitely have something against people who present things as fact when they have no reliable evidence, and make specious claims about things that have nothing to do with what they’re talking about. Everyone is free to hold their own opinions, but when you shout them out, and they don’t make any sense, you should be ready to be called out on them.

Why don’t people these days just learn to use their thumb like we did 40 years ago. Buy an Ambassadeur 2500c, take the brake blocks out and educate that thumb. Job done. Everything else is just cosmetics and marketing.

I agree. I can’t help but wonder if these electronic reels have a limited “lifetime”. I still have my old 2500’s, 5000’s, 5500’s mounted up to period correct rods. Boy these new reels really outshine the 40 year old technology with casting and feel. But, I wonder will these DC reels still be operational in 10 years with regular usage.
