I don't see a reason to downgrade from my Shimano SLX MGL 71 other than a shiny paint job. Mine has the drilled MGL spool with blue accents. Probably lighter, But I don't know. Mine also has the flip side plate and SVS brakes.

Why do you think it's a downgrade? New MGL III spool in the SLX 71. The body is smaller. Mine arrived from Digitaka today. I also have the old SLX MGL. Looking forward to trying them head to head. I think it's going to be a hit, and a steal at $125 vs $150 in the USA. Thanks for the codes RX.
