The 2024 Washington Seaplane Pilots Association Tanglefoot splash-in was a blast this year, and I tried to get footage of as many planes as I could coming and going on Friday and a little on Saturday.
Besides all the awesome aircraft, the atmosphere and people made this an event that I definitely want to return to next year!
Thank you to the WSPA and Tanglefoot Seaplane base!

Dad went into flight training at NAS Pensacola in '41, flew N3Ns, etc. Ended up spending the war flying PBY-5s (no landing gear) in a Black Cat Squadron. Transitioned to PBMs. He would have loved this video. Mom and Dad loved NAS Whidby...

Fabulous. There are very few events in the world where the Spectacle is all in the arriving and the departing. :) Love Idaho.

That was really cool! I'm not a pilot or an aviation buff. In fact, I hate flying and I'm not sure how I landed on this page, but those machines are magnificent! ...especially the large ones. Thanks!

This film is wonderful with the sights and sounds of all the historic and beautifully maintained float planes, terrific stuff many thanks. My dad was in the RAF in oban in the West coast of Scotland in the early part of ww2, and watched the Sunderland flying boats operating and training new pilots there, so great to see the Catalina too. I visited Vancouver island back in 2005 and saw the 2 Martin Mars fire fighting tanker planes there, huge and very impressive!!Cheers Peter UK.

@@SimonButler Thank you Simon, I'll look out for that too and any video you get, well done and very best of luck!! I saw them at sproat lake on Vancouver island, their home base at that time. The people there made me very welcome and showed me a huge sikorsky helicopter that had just been restored to ferry people to the mainland Vancouver etc.
