Played for 4hrs every time I seen him, then stepped off stage and signed every autograph and took pictures until no one was left, then finished helping load the rest of the gear.. 1 of a kind

Probably why he stopped working because he burnt himself out with the four hour shows
@BergnutzАй бұрын
@@Eric-ff2ii definitely, it's gotta be tough to play every other night for 15 yrs ..he did switch up from ass jack to add and 3bar then fiendish threat , but when he wants to play metal the most and the majority are there for the cuntry set I'm sure he's sick of playing the same songs ..I'm really fortunate I got to see him 10-12 times including superjoint 2 but I still would go every year if he was touring

When I was about 17, my dad took me to a Robert Earl Keen show. Shooter Jennings opened, Hank 3 middled, and Keen closed it out. Before and after their respective sets, the entirety of the lineup mingled with the crowd, bought people drinks, lit up doinks and passed them around. To this day, best concert I’ve ever been to hands down. I got to meet the triple crown of outlaw country royalty because my dad didn’t have the communication skills to tell me he was sorry for being such a dick growing up. Fair trade, old man.

Saw him 3 different times in Jacksonville Beach Florida at what was at the time The Free Bird Cafe. Ronnie Van Zant' widow Opened up. Great venue for Live music. Anyhow, 3 unbelievable shows every time. The last show he came off stage & came straight to me, my girlfriend & her cousin. Said we were rocking out harder than anyone else in the crowd & had to come holler. He bought us drinks and I bought him some in return. I commented on his drummer reminding me so much of Animal from the Muppets with the wild hair and badass drumming. He thanked me and said damn Man you're right & then calling his drummer over & I told em I had some badass Bud & some Killer Moonshine which I did & then we retired to his tourbus and proceeded TO GET LIVE!!!! Literally one of the absolute hands down best nights of my entire life!!! It was just amazing. We talked music, guitars and amps, fiddles and just had a really great time. Stayed with him about 3 whole hours and he was genuinely unhappy when we had to go & he had to get on the road. I'll never forget that he insisted on us calling him Shelton and we introduced ourselves to him once inside the club when he first came to us and started talking to us and he called us by name the entire time on the tourbus and never once asked what was y'all's names again or anything like that. He was just a genuinely nice really really great dude. I made it a point to let him know that I had met Kid Rock a couple of times because of my friendship with Gary Rossington of Lynyrd Skynyrd and he said F#@k Kid Rock!!! Man that was a great great night.

I met him and hung out with him for 10 hours at a cheap motel in Knoxville Tennessee as he was touring with Superjoint Ritual which was Phil Anselmo's (of Pantera) band. He was extremely down to earth. I asked him why he chose the underground scene over the "mainstream" legacy his father and grandfather left. He said,..."Because im a fan of ugly and brutal honesty." He also said he never has to worry about money but refuses to touch his family's money. Which i took as "i make my own way from A to Z. I will say this though. He did have a significant drug issue when i met him. He was very transparent about it. Sheldon has a golden heart. Extremely kind and giving. I really hope he is doing well. Love you brother.

He plays like 4 hours and absolutely dishes it out, finishes the show, sits on the end of the stage and shakes every hand, drinks every shot (I mean a line of people forms that lasts for a long time, I don't know how he walked back to his bus) and is pretty much an open book, who absolutely earns every red cent of that ticket price. He never disappoints and I'm grateful to have caught the Straight to Hell era live like 3 times. Hell of an Artist, hell of a down to earth person as well. Good accurate rockumentary. I've been to a few Hank II shows around 2012-2014, and it's true, I watched him play 4 hours straight, as the centre piece for three different bands.
