I love the look overall, especially the old school fabric seats. That's something I appreciate them offering. All my Toyotas are SR5 models and have cloth that's pretty durable, but the Land Cruiser looks to have the older style, heavy duty fabric that was common in the '80s and '90s. I really think that's a good thing. If I had the chance to buy a new Land Cruiser, this would be it. Simple, durable, reliable materials. Great video of an exciting vehicle.

From a guy who has owned a dozen Land Cruisers and bought my fist one over 30 years ago, I like it a lot. Now, if price wasn't a consideration, I'm buying the Lexus GX 550 because of the 3.4 V6, plus I think the Overtrail looks beefier. Either way, this will be a winner for Toyota because it's affordable compared to the 200 series and I think it will be easier to mod. I'm looking forward to seeing one in person, reminds me some of my old FJ60. Just found your channel and subbed, great reviews!

Love the fabric on the seats. Its a throwback to 1990s toyota trucks. The bumpers are designed to be thrown away and replaced with bull bars which shows Toyota is now paying attention to what people are doing in the aftermarket. I wish they would've just made the swaybar disconnect standard on the 1958 instead of forcing you up to the next trim unless its an option.

I’m actually happy they didn’t make it standard. I’ve went my whole 48 years off roading to hunt. Now I don’t off road to off road, but I’m rural and I end up doing it unintentionally often. Sway bar disconnects are just another system that can break. I’ve never needed it and most people never will. Give yourself at least the same size tire on the standard grade of the GX550, and the lockers are all yer gonna need unless you actually going looking for places you need a SBD.

I need to find a way to make this my next vehicle. I also would love the powertrain from the GX, or at least not a hybrid for simplicity, but probably nothing you’d have to worry about for at least 100k miles. And even then replacing a battery pack isn’t the end of the world. I hope they offer an option to add the disconnecting sway bar to the base. Don’t need leather or anything fancy. Just all the off road goodies.

i think you can disconnect sway bar in other trim option. At least they all come standard with rear diff lock

Really wish it came with a pano roof even the gx doesn't offer that which is a shame. But I'm torn between trading in to get this or wait for the new 4runner when that drops

Won't be $50k even for the base. Crooked Toyota dealers will be adding $10k minimum. Plus waiting lists. Better get about $65k - $75k out of your money clip.

Not with the interest rates and a lot of people are tight on budget. There are also dealerships that only sell them at msrp. So you should shop around before making a big claim.

"mid 50s" means at least 55k. What an outrageous price. This should be 35k. The cargo area is weird with the hybrid, the ground clearance is truly pathetic (less than the Rav4.) and you get the priveledge of paying more than a TRD Pro 4runner for this. Calling it a land cruiser is also deceptive at best, it's a prado. With similar equipment, the GX will be the same price or cheaper even with a flat load floor, way nicer interior and a way better drivetrain if you really can't live without this platform. The weird compromises dont end either, no third row, small fuel tank, no split tailgate....im really not sure who this thing is for; its not me

Everyone keeps saying 50k or a bit more. My prediction is just like every other announced target price you won’t see one for less than 62k; and I’m not even talking about dealer mark ups. That’s out of my acceptable range. I’ll probably just keep the FJ.

I do not agree, since Toyota does not want to mingle the the price point of a Toyota with the base price of the Lexus GX 550! That’s what is called price/model cannibalization and Toyota staff are smart enough not to sacrifice one model line against their other model lineup. Toyota wants both Lexus and Toyota to sell well together, not against each other!

I just can’t over the design of the windows on the rear side, that kick up on rear door they get smaller. Seems like many manufacturers are doing this now. Also doesn’t really look much bigger and maybe even smaller than my current 4runner.

Its funny coz even Toyota themselves aren't sure if the Prado is a Land cruiser!.when you look at the way the name is written on the one we currently have (Zambia/Africa).the Prado name is big then theres the small Land cruiser under it.i bet most people not in the know dont even know a Prado is a Land cruiser.😂😅

I’d rather call it a rugged spec than a “poverty” spec. No one would call a wrangler sport a poverty spec. Many people would prefer this rugged spec over a luxury spec.

Oh when we call it poverty spec, we just mean a non loaded spec. That is not a bad thing in our eyes. It’s a positive. And we called our stripped gladiator poverty spec and loved it for that. Thanks for watching.

I’m sure the GX being 30k minimum more isn’t the reason for staying on the cheaper side either🤣 can you justify 80k for a vehicle that isn’t actually designed for off road, put thick tires on something and call it off road worthy is hilarious. I think the 2025 4Runner sells better than these tho. That front bumper on this is U-G-L-Y. And since the front side panels go all the way down I’m not sure an after market bumper is going to provide much more clearance either🤷‍♂️ 4Runner for me👌

This is the smaller Land Cruiser which is sold as LC Prado else where. The bigger Land Cruiser 300 series is discontinued from USA because people used to buy the exact same vehicle but luxury as Lexus LX.
