2024 Toyota Land Cruiser seems like a half baked attempt by Toyota to just grab more money. With all the SUVs in their lineup this one doesn’t really have a point and it’s not serving any real purpose. The floor is terrible. You don’t get three rows. The ground clearance is OK but there’s nothing special about it. The price tag is massive and greedy dealers are going to make that even worse. I really don’t believe that this is gonna sell very well. You’d be better off waiting a couple years and getting the used GX 550 by Lexus. The new 4Runner will make this even more obsolete.
The good things is the styling on the exterior is pretty cool especially in the 1958 edition. The powertrain is really good. You make 326 HP 465TQ and you can tow 6000 pounds. I like the simplicity of the cabin area. I do wish you had a power liftgate. I’m not sure what Toyota apprehension is on giving you power lift gates, but they’re pretty few and far between amongst their SUVs. It’s really annoying.
