The Toyota RAV4 rolls into the new model year safely and connected: In addition to the further improved Toyota Safety Sense assistance systems, the compact SUV comes with a new multimedia system and an adaptable digital instrument display behind the steering wheel.

The focus of the compact SUV is the latest generation of the Toyota multimedia system: the driver controls all audio functions and cloud-based navigation via a high-resolution 10.5-inch color display. Constantly updated real-time information enables reliable travel planning. In addition to displaying traffic jams, accidents, etc., the system also helps you find a parking space at your destination. The so-called “Smart Services” package grants free access to the latest data for four years.
In addition to the cloud-based navigation system, an integrated navigation system is offered: Even without a mobile data connection, it reliably shows the way on foreign terrain - and also recognizes highway signs and environmental zones and provides information about local weather warnings.
Your own smartphone is integrated into the vehicle via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. A new voice assistant is also available that understands natural hints and requests: the system responds to sentences like “I’m cold,” for example, by increasing the interior temperature. In addition to controlling the climate control, the keyword “Hey Toyota” can also be used to select multimedia options, make calls and open or close the windows.
RAV4 drivers can access and control more and more functions and information remotely: The MyT smartphone app, for example, provides driving analyses, the current fuel level, warnings and the location of their own vehicle. The hazard warning lights can also be switched on to make it easier to find the car in a large or busy parking lot.
Thanks to regular notifications, you no longer have to worry about accidentally leaving the SUV parked with the windows open or the doors unlocked. Practical for online shoppers: Thanks to remote locking and unlocking, which is now part of the standard equipment as well as pre-air conditioning of the interior, delivery services can place the ordered package directly in the vehicle.
In addition to the large color display in the center, RAV4 customers from the second equipment line onwards now also benefit from a digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel: The 12.3-inch TFT display can be flexibly adjusted and provides all important information. Customers can choose from four styles (Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough), three layouts and various personalization options. A numerical speedometer, digital dials and other displays are available, including for eco-driving, song playback and adaptive cruise control - tailored to individual wishes and needs.
The extended Toyota Safety Sense assistance systems ensure safety. They support the driver in everyday life and can thus completely avoid accidents or at least mitigate their consequences.
The Pre-Collision System (PCS) now also helps you turn safely at intersections. It detects whether your vehicle is crossing the path of other road users - whether cars or pedestrians -, warns the driver accordingly and, if necessary, initiates a braking maneuver to prevent collisions.
Steering support is also new: it helps the driver avoid a pedestrian who has suddenly stepped onto the road while maintaining control of their own vehicle.
Based on the GA-K platform, the fifth model generation of the Toyota RAV4 is still available with a 160 kW/218 hp 2.5-liter hybrid drive (combined fuel consumption: 5.8 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 130-129 g/km - according to WLTP). In conjunction with the intelligent all-wheel drive system AWD-i, the system output climbs to 163 kW/222 hp (combined fuel consumption: 5.7 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 132-128 g/km - according to WLTP). Regardless of the drive, the compact SUV offers an excellent mix of high performance, direct response and the best consumption and emissions values.
The series is crowned by the 225 kW/306 hp Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid (combined fuel consumption: 1.0 l/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 22 g/km - according to WLTP): The externally chargeable top model offers a purely electric range of 75 kilometers and, according to WLTP, makes do with one liter of fuel per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 22 g/km.
