So my one friend Tsering mentioned he liked the audio quality in the videos and asked what I used. I thought I had already done a video on that, but I think it was just part of some other video where I started using it that I covered that.
So I decided to make a specific video to explain it. Most of the below items were bought through amazon. I would give links, but they said my channel is too small so far to do referrals. But if you search for the names in quotes you should be able to find the items.
I use an old spare HP desktop pc with an ssd drive and I think 8 or 16gb of ram running windows 10 for the webcam garage 'pc'. That has a wireless connection to my network so I can get online and do updates and quick web searches from the garage. That is a "PAU09 N600 Dual Band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wireless N USB Adapter W/Dual 5dBi Antennas - Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10/11" wireless adapter. The flash drive I currently use is one of the pack I got of "PNY 64GB Turbo Attaché 3 USB 3.0 Flash Drive 5-Pack". I also got one of these to stick in the old pc to allow a usb 3.0 connection: 2-Ports Superspeed 5Gbps USB 3.0 PCI Express Expansion Card for Windows, MAC OS X and Linux Desktop PCs, Built in Self-Powered Technology, No Need Additional Power Supply (FS-U2S-Pro), and connected to that with the usb hub "VENTION USB Hub 3.0 Splitter with 3FT Extension Long Cable 4-Port Ultra-Slim Multiport Expander for Desktop, PC, Laptop, Surface Pro, PS4, Flash Drive, Mobile HDD ". That gives me a 3x speed boost for transferring the videos from the internal ssd to the usb stick than I had without it.
The webcam camera is an old one that I got ages ago that I had laying around from the windows 7 days, but that is a "Logitech NEW Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910" and still works just fine. I just used a 25ft usb cable to connect that from the pc to the webcam. That so far has allowed me to do time lapses anywhere in the garage which is nice.
The software I use in the garage is OBS Studio for windows. After researching I learned that 10 frames per second work good for time lapse recordings, so that is what I have it set up to do.
The video editing software that I use to make the videos is Lightworks lwks.com and seems to work just fine for what I do so far.
ie taking video clips from my phone and the webcam recordings, speeding up the time lapses and adding in voice over audio that I record from my cell phone (moto g stylus in Mystic Indigo) with the "Sennheiser SC 165 USB (508317) - Double-Sided (Binaural) Headset for Business Professionals | with HD Stereo Sound, Noise-Cancelling Microphone, & USB Connector (Black)" headset.
I think that covers it, if I missed anything you have more questions on please leave a comment.
