2024 Year Ahead Astrology Forecast

A look ahead at the year ahead astrology forecast for 2024, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock.
Planetary alignments this year include Pluto moving into Aquarius for 20 years, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Pisces getting within 10 degrees, and Jupiter conjoining Uranus in Taurus.
Jupiter will also move into Gemini where it will trine Pluto in Aquarius; there will be eclipses in Aries, Libra, and Pisces; Uranus trine Pluto within 2 degrees; two comets will appear in the sky, and Mars will go retrograde in Cancer and Leo.
We spend the first two and a half hours giving a big picture overview of all of the major planetary alignments and trends in 2024, and then we transition into giving a more granular month by month breakdown of the astrology of the next year.
As we wrap up, we ponder the historical significance of the decade and the astrological markers that suggest we're at the cusp of a new era.

Good grief you guys, don't forget to honour the older women (and men) astrologers who are in their 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's who blazed the trail for these guys and taught them what they know. Plus, these guys are terrific at transits, but not so much at articulating the intricacies of the human psyche like other astrologers who come before them. Its always girls who scramble to give away their praise to men in their field, which is how the men float to the top.

Interesting to learn about the 79 year cycle of Mars retrograde. For the Canadians out there: this means the Mars-Leo retrograde cycle lines up pretty close to Confederation, also Canada is having a solar eclipse within a few degrees if its ascendent this year in April. The shadow of the eclipse, while predominently over the States, has a pretty strong presence in some of Canada's major cities too.

@@pjp8850 well, with a minority government we are due for a new election, and there has been a lot of dissatisfaction with people in Canada over the state of inflation, housing, the economy and our health care system. I wouldn't be surprised if a spring election got called and a things got a bit shaken up. To get more specific the implications of a Mars retrograde in Leo which reflects an astrological climate that existed around the founding of the nation, as well as an eclipse on the ascendent I would say that something about the very foundation and identity of being Canadian is about to change. It may not be particularly clear at first though, especially since Neptune is natally conjunct Canada's ascendent.

I would say this is the official door into the age of aquarius. the most important thing for Aquarius is freedom, and we are already seeing how the world population is rebelling against the old system and their plans.

Pluto in Capricorn has been financially really good for me. Capricorn, 2nd house. Pluto enters my 3rd house this year. I was heavily bullied by my sibs growing up. And my relationship with my last surviving sibling….well she’s undergoing something.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but when you showed that North American map of the eclipse path for April 2024, the first thing I thought of was flooding of the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes. I live on the Canadian side and this did happen 6 years ago in 2017 (eclipses in Virgo/Pisces axis conjunct Neptune) due to global warming and extreme weather patterns in the spring time. The polar ice caps are melting at an unprecedented rate and it is affecting the water levels of the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway and connecting rivers. Flooding is certainly a Saturn/Mars in Pisces signature. As of today, December 28th, 2023, the winter temperatures have been very mild. This could be quite serious. It would affect millions of people in Canada and the US. Think of all the major cities along the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Great Lakes such as Quebec City, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Syracuse, Rochester, Cleveland, Toledo, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Detroit, Milwaukee, Duluth, Ann Arbor and Chicago. I am hoping it is not of biblical proportions. Mercury retrograde could symbolize a rescue/cleanup mission. It is very reminiscent of 1999 August eclipse that had the Middle East as its path. A week later there was that huge earthquake in Ankara, Turkey that registered 7.8 on the richter scale that ended up killing 17,000 people. Just hope history does not repeat itself.

In 1972 during the Saturn opposite Neptune in Gemini and Sagittarius respectively, the US opened project stargate to spy on the soviet mission. And there was this whole psychic race between both countries. Now I'm excited to see what will happen with the conjunction as well as Pluto in Aquarius. Seems like weird stuff is boutta happen! Aquarius and Pisces are the strangest combos ever (in a good way).

That's fascinating! Russian history has been intimately linked to Saturn-Neptune cycles for thousand of years. Conjunctions (like the incoming one in 2026) bring a new cycle for the spirit of Russia while oppositions indicate a kind of rivalry between Russia and another faction (such USA vs Russia with the stargate project). Russia will be thrown into the spotlight in 2026 alongside possible UFO events (which echoes with the parapsychological research of stargate).

i must say i appreciate deeply how you did the entire closing section. there was a while there where i was thinking i’d have to take a few extra meds to pass out & forget (it’s a joke but also… not lol). like i guess what i take away is what i’ve seen ppl say that they’ve gotten the message so much in the last couple years, that there’s a “last gasp” and/or rage as a thing comes to an end, and i have to remind myself to get through it. tbh this year was the worst year of my entire life, and same for my family, so i guess i’m just a *bit* sensitive. i have yet to truly analyze in retrospect what went on astrologically this year for me

starting to realize jupiter transits and natal placements in the signs don't get enough attention among astrologers! looking at the last few years, i realize jupiter's transit through different signs has major implications for the general themes and vibes of the year. jupiter in pisces was one of the dreamiest, most romantic and fun times in my life and i was always at the beach. when jupiter was in aries, all i wanted to do was work out and people kept starting social conflicts impulsively. with jupiter in taurus i am making more money but all i wanted to do for a while was eat and watch tv shows about food. with jupiter in gemini coming up i am thinking about starting a podcast about bisexuality. i think jupiter tells us a lot about the general mood everybody is in during a given time period.

2:19:49 I never really thought about it but Mars’ transit pattern really fits its archetype, especially the archetypes of Aries and Capricorn. It does a lot of work, it’s very busy, but once it’s retrograde, it’s pooped for half a year in the same sign before it’s back to work, blowing through the signs and causing mayhem.

Another forgotten part of the French Revolution is the concept of the "fourth estate". The concept was about media journalism as a means independent of the "state" and its independence was essential to political class. The concept of ideas ( air) revolutionised the way society viewed aristicrocy and the prevailing class system. It is interesting to see how "media " is changing in this new era, and it will be fascinating to see how pluto will drive changes to our perception of media and journalistic review

There is a casual, calm, intimate atmosphere in the conversation, in spite the roller coaster of the transits (gravity sometimes), kind of like a secret. I loved it! Austin's wonderful interpretations and analogies on Saturn squaring Neptune, Jupiter squaring Mercury and all Jupiter's got embedded in a wonderful dream I had last night. Very well done. Regarding comets. Pope Francis was elected as a comet moved from the south hemisphere to the north. The comet crossed the equator. He is the first from the south with a living pope with him! Ground breaking

just a random thing that came to me about the difference between Neptune in Pisces and Aries. Neptune in Pisces makes me think of illusion or confusion through fog (water) and Neptune in Aries would be confusion because of the smoke (fire), kind of like a fog of war

The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is conjunct my MC I have had many changes in the way in which I earn since Uranus entered my 10th house Ive been putting the work in and look forward to this transit in particular

I'm sooo excited for all the Gemini activity with Jupiter, activating my 9th house and my chart ruler Venus! I'm already seeing an opportunity for world travel formulating now that will happen in the spring, so I hope it works out! I'm also hoping for big expansions with my astrology endeavors and my Spanish learning journey. Jupiter will square Saturn transiting my 6th, but I think it will just challenge me to commit to new routines and foundations that prioritize my passions as well as my health.
