Looking at the core 3 also. If you don’t mind me asking what is your height and what size frame did you choose. At 182cm I’m bang in the middle between L and XL and I’m not sure which way to go.

@@Lowdowndog I am 5’ 11” so 181-182cm and I went Large. I am short legs - long torso which most manufacturers tell you to size up, I have found the opposite. I like a playful bike and my favorite bikes from the last 10 years were all 442mm-453mm reach. I bought a couple “new age Long Low Slack” bikes in the 460mm-480mm and hated them all. They he 460 I managed with a 32mm stem but was not ideal. I like how I still belong on a Large, most brands “modern geometry” I’d be sizing down to a medium. Just sold my Levo S3 and stock Reach was 453, but with the +20mm fork it was more like 442 and that was the minimum I’d of liked for reach.

@@Lowdowndog PS I’d normally choose an Uncaged but hated the color scheme so paid $100 more for white Core 3. Only difference is Core 3 tires are DD 2.5/2.4 and Uncaged is exo+ 2.5/2.6 and the Core 3 comes with the new version of SDG Tellis which has some travel adjustment. 👍🏻

@@BikeHombre thanks. yeah, a very great deal! i ordered at 5999 and 2 weeks later they had this huge discount. i mailed them - and they gave me the reimbursement since it wasnt delivered yet. super stoked about it! its really a steal if you add all the high end components. rides super nice. really glad i got it!

@@BikeHombre mega awesome from them. its now not listed on their website anymore. only the MX version. i am very glad that i ordered it. the suspension is very good. handles well despite its size. and its comfortable for longer rides and climbs.

The bike is awesome, I previously had the Decoy Elite and have to say that Core 5 is even better! my friend has the Canyon Strive on and the Deocy is easier and faster to move. great bike

I ordered the same. I wish they had gone with the Linkglide instead for longer lasting drivetrain and the option of auto shift as well. I probably would have only run free shift anyways but the better longevity would have been nice, and it wouldn´t hurt to have auto shift as an option.

I'm not an expert with shocks, but I do agree that technically it is a downgrade. My guess is that YT wanted the coil due to being more supple than an air shock and from my understanding coils tend to perform a little better on very steep terrain since they sit back in the travel a little more, which makes the headtube angle slacker. I also wonder if upgrading the motor and making the 720Wh battery standard cost them more money, so they got a lower priced rear shock so they wouldn't have to drastically increase the price of the bike. Like I said I'm not a suspension expert, so I'm hoping that if anyone in the comments has more knowledge they could provide some insight. Thanks for the good question.

Not a downgrade, Different… Coil = more supple, better traction, stuck to the ground Air = lighter, more poppy, better adjustability My old Capra came with air and when it blew I bought a coil. Bike was so much more supple and traction was greatly increased BUT I lost some of the poppy-ness boosting off jumps. Give and take…
