Wear headphones! This video is recorded using binaural microphones to give you the most realistic “real world" experience! In this video, we take a look at the all-new 2025 Lotus Emeya EV, a "Hyper-GT". While this is a non-driving prototype, we still take a look at the interior and exterior features together. Quite an amazing vehicle!

A few notes on the Lotus Emeya:
-There are 8 functioning vents on the car.
-There will be a five seater cabin option.
-Expected production date is late 2024, with deliveries rolling out in 2025.
-Lotus plans to go fully electric by 2028 with three electric sports cars, two SUV's, and one sedan.

Test drove the Eletre about 4 weeks ago the handling was truly astounding for a 2.5 ton vehicle. Even Steve Sutcliffe who is an extremely experienced and very well respected auto journalist said it had the handling characteristics of a true lotus. It was far to big compared to my I pace so this might be my next purchase

Looks like a bee with the black roof and treatments. Would prefer a body colored roof. Interior is similar to Eletre. I still see Zeekr001 in it but it is highly modified and much more upscale. A bit gimmicky with the self-opening doors but that's part of luxury I guess. I think the performance has reached the point where it is overkill and will make passengers sick if used to its full potential.

Ok, the 4 door sedan craze is getting out of hand. This would be great as a 2 door sports vehicle.

After driving a Genesis GV60 with the camera mirrors they are a deal breaker for me. They may be fine when you are younger or have good eyesight but for anyone who only needs glasses for reading they are awful. Looking in the screen closest to you is on the edge of clear vision without glasses. Obviously you won’t be wearing reading glasses to look into the distance…. A normal mirror has the focus point being the same as actually looking, so no issue. Also with a real mirror you can move your head slightly to change what you see in the mirror to get better coverage. This doesn’t work with screens.

Pricing hasn’t been released, but with 905 HP, massaging seats, and level 3 (with level 4 coming soon) self driving, it won’t be near 65k lol

That's the price of a medium-priced Kia EV9. That's not realistic. A Volvo XC60 not as well equipped right now is 70,000 euro.

I’m going to guess about $170,000 US; more with the priciest options. It’s a Taycan Turbo S competitor and the price will reflect that. Nice car though.

It's unfortunate that the chinese company that bought Lotus took this direction with the brand. While it makes sense to go EV, making 2 ton luxury cars is the exact opposite of what Lotus was known for. All I can hope is that the Emira isn't the last true Lotus, and that they use the money earned from selling these chinese luxury EVs sporting the Lotus badge to develop real lightweight electric sports coupes.

Every supercar sports manufacturer is making SUVs (really crossovers) because otherwise they couldn't sell cars. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, Porsche, every one of them now is making them. This has nothing to do with Geely. Geely is probably the most hands-off owner out there. If VW Group or Stellantis or anyone else owned them they'd still have to make SUVs or fast sedans to make enough volume to make money. they're still making sports cars There are no more "true" anything. If enough Lotus DNA is in the car then it is a Lotus. The Chevy Corvette has changed, BMWs have changed, and others. This isn't just about the badge, it's about adapting to the market and every business has to do that.

@benjaminsmith2287 That's all mostly true, but this car could be branded as anything else, and nobody could tell. At least with the Ferrari Purosangue or Porsche Cayenne, they have a distinct identity with special powertrains. These cars aren't conveying "Lotus" to me by design language alone, and the driving characteristics are likely nothing at all like the sports car counterparts, unlike their European contemporaries. Reminds me of the first gen Cayenne, except I fail to see room for "injecting" Lotus DNA into this thing. It'll be the nth electric AWD 2 ton super SUV.

@@hatslapper6860 Give them time. They started with the Zeekr001 footprint and made it better looking IMO. Maybe the next generation will get more of a Lotus body shape and character to it.

Unfortunately, any extra addons to the vehicle (extra luxury comfort weight)and away from the basic vehicle components will have a negative impact on the range, not factoring in battery degradation.

It is faster with the electric motors as well as smoother and quieter. Nothing ICE beats electric propulsion for performance, quietness and smoothness.

@@benjaminsmith2287 evs have no emotion i understand that they are quicker... but quicker is not the hole story... i drive alot of cars and yes for they average person sure go get an ev if you want but most of is enthusiasts just really want good ice engines back... they are killing off everything bentleys v12... the hellcat engines... the audi v10 found in the r8 and huracan... it is horrible like a nightmare

@@Catchingcars Toyota is trying to simulate the engine experience and a manual gearbox and some others will. I think maybe ICE will still be available at some point with some makes but the industry is migrating to BEVs with many governments behind this migration. As a musician who plays digital pianos vs. acoustic pianos, they'll never get the simulation to be like the original. And it is horrible.

I like Lotus… I’m all for car manufacturers making new things but within the first 40 seconds of this video this car is a direct copy of procedure to open it as a Tesla model S! Why does have a card just like Tesla, and why do the door handles pop out just like Tesla? Why is the card placed in the same location as Tesla? Things like this drive me crazy, much like the menu interface on the Rivian trucks. It’s like a tweaked version of Tesla’s design smh

True, I was hoping Lotus would be the first to develop a lightweight EV. Ironic that they were the ones to source the chassis for the Tesla Roadster.

I have always loved Lotus but sorry this is not good. If you put a Kia badge on each end no one would bat an eye. 👎🏽 so sad after so many previous good cars.
